  • 51 days since I uploaded my last video, I'll be able to let you know what has been keeping me so busy the past six weeks very soon, and hopefully you guys will understand. #selfimprovement #selfdevelopment #africanyoutuber #southafricanyoutuber #vlog
To make it up though, I have a cozy 30 minute long chatty vlog talking about books that have really helped with efficiency, productivity, self-development and mental health. Interestingly, the longer I am in the professional space, the more I realise just how intertwined these things are, and how they all lead feed into each other in so many ways.
Please make yourself a warm cup of tea, get your coziest fleece blanket and settle in to watch today's vlog.
When you're done, I would love for you to engage with me in the comments, whatever came up for you as you wer watching, anything you'd like to share with me and any added insights you'd like to contribute if you have any.
I'll see you very soon, and I promise it won't be 51 days this time!
    Xx,
    Loyiso

We missed you so much, Loy! What a beautiful Vlog! So encouraging. We all carry a lot mentally. In some form, and this was so informative. I will definitely listen to the second book you mentioned. I also love how you are so proactive about your mental health to get it in check, and after all, no one will do it for you, and I think that's something I need to do as well.

I am on my weight loss journey too. But im doing it minimally. I drink rooibos with lemon juice everyday in the morning on an empty stomach, its doing some wonders for me. I hope you are reading your bible too for some daily devotion and motivation

I can relate a lot with imposter syndrome. I can list a lengthy list of self-sabotage occasions, but the most pressing is this big opportunity I am too afraid to apply for in software development, and the key primary requirement is high average in the latest transcript, which I have. Just a background story, I am a third year Bsc in computer science student with an average of 92% in the previous academic year. I feel like I am not enough, and even if they choose me for this opportunity, I won`t be able to retain and maintain it, and most importantly my work won`t meet their standards. So, when you talk of people around you who saw your highs and achievements and not getting it when you confide in them about this, yes they empathize, but they don`t really get it. What I meant to say with this paragraph😂, it resonates with me immensely.

@@Youngaliormj I wish I was, but I am even suicidal at times, because the anxiety of failure and not measuring up to the world`s expectations kill`s me. I tell you even now I am even scared to present my work at Hackerthons at school because I am so scared of rejection and being told I am not enough.

@@SiyabongaGama-xx8ci no ways not to make my problems yours.
You better stay prayed up and not let the devil take your life. I am suicidal because i am under performing. Present your work and if it doesn't go well, just know that it wasn't your problem, its just that its not your time. Sorry for offending you... didn't know it was this serious to even consider suicide. But God loves you and doesn't want you to fail hence he has made you pass with such marks

I’m really sorry to read what you’re going through Siyabonga. I wish I didnt understand the crippling anxiety of fearing failure as much as I do. If you dont already, I really would encourage you to start meditating, and to read the Eckhart Tolle book I mentioned. It helps you watch /observe your fearful thoughts without engaging them, and that helps you see that your thoughts are not facts. I repeat this to myself daily, that my thoughts are not facts. Another suggestion would be to write down all the negative thoughts (as if to vomit it all out if your mind and onto paper), that also helps to observe the thoughts. Finally, please remember what I said about Imposter Syndrome: it cannot exist in the absence of some measure of success. It is there because you are doing well and succeeding in your chosen field and your studies. Im so proud of how hard you’ve worked and are working, please dont give into the dark thoughts, you are your ancestors’ wildest dreams and deserve the best of what this life has to offer you. I wish you all the best and am really glad my sharing resonated with you✨🌸

Hi again. God lead me, I went on to do some quick research, it's apparent that people that are intelligent or rather have a high IQ tend to commit suicide or be depressed.... I would suggest you do some research on the connection that intelligence have with depression and I hope you get the necessary help you seek through this information to help you through and I pray that Jesus Christ actually steps in and helps you. Done bye
