I believe too much time is spent on making rules and regulations while current rules and regulations are not enforced. The constitution states that if a person stays in the Country legally for five years they qualify for permanent residence but I know some brothers from Africa who have lived in this country legally for more than 24 years and they're still denied permanent residence and they have to keep renewing refugee permits every 2 years. This is pure hypocrisy and discrimination from home affairs.
And why do you want to stay here????
Refugees and asylum seekers are not allowed to have citizenship or pernament citizenship. Sans law. They have to renew their status every year's

On the critical skills visa, the challenge we are facing is that when we apply, companies say they want a work permit from Home Affairs in order to give you offer of employment. If we come to Home Affairs, we are told we a need an offer of employment first in order to process the visa. How can we get help here?
It means your skill is not critical and the company is failing to prove to home affairs that indeed in all 60% of unemployed SOUTH AFRICANS they couldnt find a suitable candidate.

Foreigners sojourning in South Africa must not be permitted to speculate in South African property, the must rent, stay in Hotel, stay in Guest house or only be permitted to own limited types of property in predefined locations and only have limited ownership, if at all.
If a resident or limited ownership, they may not have the same representation in any decision making structures or organisations.
The salary criteria of R1m is rediculous, the qualifying measure must be assessed according to the foreign salary scale. The individual could be earning CHF, US$, Euro etc.
So, an unskilled Swiss employee will meet the R1m criteria simply on exchange rate alone.

I think it is correct to request the employer to follow the process of hiring employees, but the conditions of a million rand and 100 employees should not be necessary. Because there’s business can start with half a million and less than 50 employees can prosper and be profitable for the people and the government.

if you make it hard to get visas for the poor, you will spend more money arresting hungry people on the streets and feeding them in prisons and there will be a vacuum for corruption at the border posts and the home affairs department too. Make it easy for everyone to become legal and you will see that you can account for everyone who comes in and you will have fewer people crossing via the Limpopo river. We are on the continent Africa and most people not custome to this ereas rules and regulation..(SA)are foreigners by definition so assuming that most foreigners (if not most / all) would he mostly non white as in Africa most people are non white. in the Western Cape the majority of black government employees come from Eastern cape and when a relative of theirs die they don't bury them in the Western Cape, they are taken back to Eastern cape or Transkei.
