I would love to know how Rod feels growing up in the spotlight. At one point we saw him sing this song when he was his twenties and now he's in his '70s still singing it. I'll give him so much credit for getting back on stage and still performing even it his mid 70s. In the end I guess for us its all about the music 😎😎
Rod gave a great show here and finished it on a real high-note. Forty years on, the lyrics cut even deeper now, and as time passes it reveals itself as one of his very greatest songs. The showbiz finish, on one knee, with Jim Cregan, brought a lump to my throat. Yes Rod, the crowd did understand. We always did.
If I could live to the age [not the priority] of either Rod or Jim, and could still be as good as either of them [THIS is the priority], then I could, and I WOULD, say that I am bloody proud of myself.
We went to see Jim Cregan & Co yesterday .... if you get the chance you need to see them and have a great evening's entertainment.

I have always loved this song. The guitar solo was perfect on the album, and it brings back fine memories to hear it live after all these years.
Possibly Rod's greatest song. What a performance that was from Jim Cregan it was a thing of beauty.

Jim Cregan's guitar style reminds me a lot of Nils Lofgren. Terrific song!
