I'm still getting this Blackberry.
Still using my q10 (got tired of iOS and android all ecosystem - all the apps you DONT need or will use...). This is a productivity device. It's still the best. Make no mistake: there's really nothing as a keyboard to type on. Do we like to write on iPads? Or do we prefer the real keyboard of a MacBook Air? There's is no doubt. The thing is, if what you REALLY need is the send sms, WA, bbm, to use the gps, to browse the web sometimes, to play simple games in the plane, and to receive and make calls, believe me there's no better device. This sums up my usage of a device and the reason why I stick with bb's. The only reason I don't buy a classic is because I can't change the battery, which I can in my q10 and therefor have twice the battery live (I have two and just change I in the move).
People who complain against the phone's specs specially the processor needs to know that this phone for reading and writing emails and surfing the internet not for gaming or consuming media so the company packed the phone with the necessary power

I am so thrilled to be back with BlackBerry. The tactile keyboard is 2nd to none! Remarkable! If I want to play on IG, FB, Twitter, etc I simply use my previous S5 on Wi-Fi.
I have a Passport SE and trust me, I love it to death. But all of a sudden I had a sort of "itch" if you would say, for a Classic. So I went ahead and got one. Let me say this, I do not regret spending $300 for a Classic. I absolutely love this phone.

I have the Passport as well, and love it a lot. But, there is something about the Classic. All around, it's the very best communication device with an excellent browser, combined with one or two handed ergonomics. Getting one tomorrow
I'm still rocking my BlackBerry Classic in 2018.
I just ordered a used one. How usable is it still? Like checking facebook, twitter, email and web browsing? What about navigation? Does it have a maps app? Thanks sir :)

@@markthometz4403 I bought one in January 19 and I can say that the Classic is still usable. The keyboard is still a dream. The trackpad is awesome. The speakers are still very good and I like the camera too. Before I switched to the Classic I had a Iphone Xr. Now I'm happy .

Upa I haven't used this but tried Q10 and loved using 9900. It definitely worth a shot. I won't say you will like it for sure but you never know. You might.

I had a samsung galaxy s5 before I got this phone. After over a month of having the BlackBerry I'm in love with this device. You really feel official with this bad boy. Apps is the only thing that gets me but thanks to the apk files I still have instagram and a better version of twitter/facebook

i have an iphone 6s plus personally thats only a couple months old. My older brother had this phone laying around and after asking, he just gave it to me for free! near mint condition and everything, so now i have two phones. Still playing around with it since ive only had it for a week, but its slowly replacing my 6s plus lol. Maybe ill just store away the 6s plus as a backup phone, great review!

Very good review. I loved my Bold but when I got my hands on the Q10 I found all I needed.
Thank's for a good all round look at the Classic. your right of course it needed to have better specs. people want quad core processors, and at least 13 mp cameras.
they want phones that can last at least 2 years and be competitive with other manufacturers phones.
see even if its a lame ass snapdragon 400 processor and some better optics it would of been a killer. but they went with a repackaged q10...so its a bit sad but hey we shall see

+Fernando Machado so depends, are you planning on using apps ? Then no. Are you looking for a blackberry to do emails, calls etc. then yes! If you need a keyboard device to run apps get their new KEYone device or priv .

no one really knows what's going to happen with what's app, if they plan to turn off the servers then it will not work, Google play store what's app doesn't work because the Android runtime is a bit old. get the priv if you want a blackberry

Well i use a phone to call and Text , Games are not a must ... i really love texting so i bought this classic and i dont regret the moment i throwed my money like a pimp .
this phone is only used for emails.

no i use facebook too on it and it just feels as on a regular tablet, and reading an article is even better , on on the article page click the options button and you can chose " Reader" , Which brings the article in full screen black on white , then you can incrase or decrease size. Intagram is not dedicated to Blackberry , So this is a little problem which i could bypass by downloading and installing an app which gives acces to the google play store in the time i am waiting for a dedicated instagram app.

Was hoping that BB10 would be more optimized for the hardware though. It is running specs similar to the iPhone in terms of CPU clock speed.
its similar but not the same. The iphone has a quad core gpu while the classic has a dual core gpu. Its also 64bit which does better at everything. not defending the iphone but the hardware needs to be better. btw check out my q10 classic comparison you will understand why i said its old hardware lol .they cant push these processors a lot further. most times they run @ peak output

I pray they release an android variant of the Silver edition passport! How's it going man? It's ReganMarcelis!... PS: Where did they even get these old processors from? LOL! He, leftover stock! Hi, for anyone who owns a 10.3 blackberry devices (passport, classic, etc), can you tell me how well does the LINE messenger app works?
I know there is one in the blackberry store, but is it good enough? Or if it is not good enough, can we download it from Snap and being able to run it like on android devices?

Hi, I downloaded LINE via 1MobileMarket. Download the software of 1MobileMarket on your BB and you can download Android Apps..Line works perfect..better than Whatsapp or BB Messenger.....

I use my Classic just for taking notes on the go nowadays. Nothing beats a real keyboard for me. And yes, it is really slow compared to new devices.
Just got mine after years with my Bold 9300....tough learning curve for me. Biggest difference is swiping to to active it. With my Bold just hit any button/key and "it's alive"!....I've give it a few weeks but just might pop out the sim and go back to the future....I'll I do is talk/text anyway

i was thinkin bout changeing my BB 9900 to the Q10 but den i heard about dis phone & im unsure of changein to it.... due to not being able to just switch my Sim card... cause i still have the O.G Sim card lol.
Nice review! So currently I'm an Android user but I used to have Blackberry, a curve. Had to switch as I like to browse the net at times and this would cause it to crash! But I've been missing the security of blackberry and yes, the keyboard!! I've started checking them out and happy to see the improvements! I've been wondering about switching and thinking of the classic. Basically I require good reliable communication, good browsing capabilities. As for apps and games, Facebook, gps and maps, weather, and simple games (I am somewhat addicted to candy crush!). And TH-cam, though not constant. When I'm home I can always use my computer. Do you think this would be a good phone? Thanks!
Passport or wait for the new Torch, that will be a powerhouse like the Passport, Passport has some of the best stereo speakers on the market next beside One M line, camera is really good on the Passport and once you go wide screen, hard to go back to 5" narrow devices

david jones could not agree more I have Android apps on my passport and they look way better then on your normal smartphone, work wide.

I'd say it's a almost even in terms of capabilities(what it can do in gaming etc) but it's faster and snappier at multitasking. If you rely on Google apps (keep,Gmail,inbox,TH-cam etc) they will not work. How ever Google play store and Google maps does work but it's limited (not everything works )

I don't like the place the speaker is located. Every time I use keyboard I cover the speaker at the bottom, it should have been placed at the back, like in 9780.

I went to a Punkt phone, a phone that only makes calls and sends texts, it was refreshing not to have a million apps. So now I went to this blackberry, a quality phone that does a much better job texting than the Punkt did. If you want a phone for calls, email and texting, this is the one.

I really don't see any necessity to buy this for $500 coming from Q10 point of view. Tool belt is good to have but too good to pay $300 more than Q10 price point. Non-Removal battery is also a big disappoint.

Does google maps run on this?
BB needs to get their hardware program revamped, for essentials like emails, calls, and texts it is the best there is. When you begin browsing the old hardware really shows. It bogs down on videos and the browser has noticeable lag even with full bars of 4g LTE.

It's been my daily driver for 5 months now. Prior to that, was the Q10, and the Passport. It's been 4 years since I use an android.

If you put too many Android apps on it, I can guarantee that it will be slow. I use all of my BB10s ekslusively for work (call, text, email, writing, calculating, scheduling, journal), music, and social media (whatsapp, BBM, telegram, Facebook). For that purpose, it's fast enough. Passport is the fastest. For games, movies and other purposes, including uber, i use an android.

Then it's good. Except maybe for the camera. It's good, but not super good or cool or anything fancy. Just enough for its purpose. Iphone is still the best for camera. In BlackBerry lines, though, it would be Aurora. But it's specific for Indonesian market.

I really can't stand the app situation. If the build of this phone mixed with the fluidity of the nexus 5.... It would be better. I had the 9900 and it was irritating.
if they had just gone with the snapdragon 615 it would have been a winner.
Lots of contradictions in this video but its still a helpful for those looking to get this phone or switch to Blackberry. One major disappointment is the price. This should have a be $300 phone and nothing more.

Try Q10 first before Classic...You will the way it feel in your hands, pocket & yes, budget.
the Q10 is $150-$199 used, Classic is $299-$399 (new), Priv is $420-$485 on ebay NEW. Priv has way better apps,cameras,RAM, processing power and its the future of BlackBerry smartphones
thats my reasoning I recommend it, you will see more OS support for the Priv than the Classic or Q10

I like this BB alot and I don´t play telephone games but communication apps are important for me..
+Euryale Music Now whatsapp plans to drop support in June 2017 and yeah you can download whatsapp from google play and it works well but without full hub integration, it just sends you notification that you have a new message, the same thing for fb messenger

They always seem to use old slower processors, maybe its for battery life but they need to address performance if they do a Blackberry Classic 2

I had seriously liked the Blackberry's Facebook page just to find out when this phone will be out. Days were not passing buy fast enough to have it in my hands, and now.... I love the look but very disappointed with the camera, de screen, image quality and the phone performance and overall quality,( you can see the light coming from the inside the phone between the screen and the tool band), and no access to the battery). WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU HAVE 2001 PERFORMANCE ON A 2014 PHONE WHYYYYY ??? HOW DO YOU IMAGINE THAT THIS WILL help THE COMPANY BACK IN PROFIT WITH LOW QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE ????? I will keep my money !!!!! I am really really sorry Blackberry. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!
yep. its not the device that will blow your socks off, but its great for those migration from the older blackberrys'. Watch my passport review. It has the specs but the software hurt that device!
