I saw this group perform on Rachel Ray last week and couldn't figure out at first what I was hearing--it sounded just like back in the day--I was floored. Could not believe what I was hearing. I'm 63--sometimes still "back in the day". I absolutely love it--My man is black I'm white--so what! We both love this music-- He's a bass player, plays in church. Bought the newest CD. Eli Reed & the True Loves have timeless talent. We both know music--this is the real deal, kids.
I had the honor of seeing Eli 'Paperboy' Reed and the True Loves at the Green Street Grill in Cambridge, MA MANY years ago. Put on a stellar show and I'm sure still does.
The drummer is the most rad guy I've ever had the pleasure to meet. I got him to sign my ticket and he gave me a drumstick when they came to Wellington, what a champ!
Ah, now this is how RnB and Soul music should look and sound, not the contemporary S*** that our collective ear holes have been subjected to for the last God knows how many years. Thank goodness that this guy ( and many more like him ) know the meaning of real music. Don't as me why, but I think this song actually works well with the Samsung commercial. The total package makes the ad catchy as hell and memorable.
