So, I just checked it out and in what will neither be the first time nor the last, I was incorrect. You CAN, in fact, set it to a specific start time. Thanks for setting me straight.

Thank you for taking the time to review this for us. I own two other Ninja appliances and love them. Looks like I might wait for an updated version to see if they take some action on some of the key points you made about its cons, but looks good enough to consider when, for example, a great sale happens like Black Friday.
A tip I learned for cleaning coffee carafes when I worked at a cafe in high school washing dishes. Put some ice, salt, and an acid like lemon juice or white vinegar in the carafe & swirl it around for a minute, empty it, then rinse it out. Voila! Clean coffee carafe. This would be approximately 1-2 cups of ice 1-1.5 tbsp salt, and about 1 tbsp of either the vinegar or lemon juice.
Thanks for this review. I have the older model which is / was called the Ninja Coffee Bar. I have used it for several years and I really like it. This model you reviewed seems to be the next generation of my machine. I'm very tempted to get this newer one, but mine still works well. 😕❤️🥰❤️😕
I got my first Ninja product when they were still called "Shark Ninja". It was a combination food processor (which I don't use) and 3 blade immersion blender (which is incredible). It's over 20 years old and still runs like a champ. I've been consistently impressed by every Ninja product I've purchased ever since.
I have a Ninja, not quite this model, and I love it. My daughter got one first and she raved about it so my husband got me one three years ago for Christmas. We got our son one this year. I can say, we all love our Ninja no matter which model we have.
I love Courtney's Grogu cup (and the Grogu glass in the pinned Cold Brew Coffee). I personally have a Keurig, I don't use K-Cups, Keurig has a K-Cup reusable coffee filter. I love the frother attachment on that Ninja, but I'm not buying a new coffee pot just for an attached frother (I was looking though HAHAHA)
We also have an older version of this Ninja, and we use the Rich setting for just regular coffee. Don't know if that is of any help to you. Thank you for reminding me that it is supposed to steep tea, too! I'm going to call my hubby's attention to that, as well! Ours does have a little beeping alarm it makes if it runs out of water mid-brew, but I usually walk away and do other things while I wait for my cuppa to brew. It's soft enough that if I'm listening to a podcast or doing anything making much noise at all, I don't hear it. Thankfully my hubby is usually sitting right next to it and rescues me from the frustration of coming back 10 minutes later only to discover my coffee still isn't ready.
I forgot to mention that when I made my green tea, I used a single bag but set the dial to "rich", so that it would steep just a little longer. "Rich" seems like not only a way to make a "rich" cup of coffee, but also to get the "classic" brew with less grinds.
I have this coffee maker, I have had so many Keurig, Cuisinarts, traditional coffee makers, French press. This has been the best overall coffee maker that does everything balanced doesn’t burn coffee. It’s hot but doesn’t burn the coffee. It’s just best overall. It doesn’t stand out in anyway just does it all in a decent way. I had the other model with the frother on the side but this has been superior even though the appear to be the same
I use mine daily and continue to be pleased with it. I just wish there were a feature that would tell me when I don’t have enough water in the reservoir for whatever size I select.
We have a Ninja coffee maker from about a year ago. I wish ours had the tea filter & settings, since that's what I use it for. That's pretty slick! I've been very happy with all of our Ninja kitchen appliances, & we have several.
Steve, I have a keurig with a big water reservoir (reg pots don’t make sense in my house since I’m the only coffee drinker) but I’ve found that using a vessel to pour water into the reservoir far easier than filling the reservoir and then trying to get it in place and hope I don’t spill any .
I am probably the only person around who uses a stainless stovetop percolator. It makes the perfect cup of coffee. And for iced coffee I have a large mason jar with a cold brew filter. But I love watching these small appliance and gadget reviews! Thanks!
Exactly the same model, just got it recently and playing with that make me to become a coffee addict. I like my coffee a little stronger so using the rich mode with 3 small scoops of coffee for a large cup. In a small cup warm up my half and half with the sweetener and after frothing it up pour over the coffee. The specialty mode it gives more like a espresso with 3 small scoops of coffee. Also like to use the tea maker which for me is on a weaker side . Bothe coffee and tea are smooth without the bitterness.
Hey that is my coffee maker. I make coffee several times a day and tea every morning for my wife (set it at night to brew at 5:00am). It is an awesome unit. So many ways to brew so many drinks. Love mine.
Thank you for your review. The especially coffee has to be done by itself, and you don't get to pick how much of it, is just one serving. Afterward, you typically mix it with your second hot combination, like frosted milk, etc.
I've had my Ninja coffee station for 5yrs and absolutely love it. Cleaning it has started to become a bear though. I use 50/50 water and white vinegar with a tsp of food grade citric acid. I then end up flushing the system one extra time and the scaling that come out is amazing.
Have you tried food-grade descaling solution? That's what I use on my Anova Precision Oven. I suppose a lot also has to do with the mineral content of your water...
@@SeriousKeto I have not. I started using the citric acid because I saw you using it I think on your other channel. I'll look up the food grade descaling solution
This is something I want when I eventually retire, and I have time to deal with all the effort. For now, I love my Keurig and use the K-Cups. Of all the appliances I have had I think the Keurig is the best and long lasting.
I'm all-in with anything Ninja. Foodi, Flip-Up Digital Oven, Blenders, Coffee Station. I no longer shop for any other brand. Just find the Ninja product that fits my needs. 👍👍👍
I also have the older Ninja Coffee Bar model. Mine has the thermal carafe, which holds the coffee warm about 90 minutes, but with three coffee drinkers in the house, a carafe rarely lasts that long. My reservoir has markings on the side for Cup, Tumbler, Half Carafe, and Full Carafe. I follow those markings for the various sizes I'm making, keeping in mind a cup is 6 oz so I need more than that for an 8 oz Cafe Forte. I love the variation in brew sizes one can get. 4 oz on Specialty, 6 oz for a cup, 8 oz for Cafe Forte, 14 oz for tumbler, 16 oz XL tumbler, 30 oz half carafe and 60 oz carafe. I do find I still prefer using my stove top moka pot for espresso/cappuccino than the Specialty setting. But the 4 oz size is perfect for topping off a mug if the carafe has been emptied. My biggest complaint/warning is regarding the placement of the reservoir. If I remove mine to fill, I have to line it up about 6 inches above where it sits and slide it down the side of the machine to get it to sit properly. Before I figured that out I woke up several mornings to water leakage all over my counter and even into the drawer below. The sliding seems to work. Others in the Ninja Coffee Bar Recipes and More group on another app find leaving the reservoir in place and filling from a pitcher to be easier. Not a hassle for those who filter their water first. I hope this is helpful. Enjoy your Ninja!
I have a Keurig espresso machine. It uses ground or k cup coffee. To make a cappuccino you use the "shot" setting which makes a very small amount of brewed coffee. Experiment with the amount of scoops to use until you get the brew strength you want. It also has a "strong" option. The frothed milk goes on top (milk, half and half, or heavy cream, your choice, but nut milks don't work very well) of the shot to mostly fill up the cup. Use more milk for a latte. The frother has a line marked showing the correct amount of milk to use according to what you are making and does warm the milk while frothing. I use sugar free "Skinny Mixes" syrup. You can also make just regular coffee in an 8 oz., 10 oz., or 12 oz. size cup. My pot was cheaper than yours but doesn't have a carafe, tea, or cold brew option, but if I want hot tea I just run water through with a tea bag in the cup. I imagine I could use the same single cup filter for loose tea as I do coffee but I haven't tried that. The water reservoir looks just like the Ninja's and attaches to the pot just like on the Ninja.
I have an older model bought in 2021 and it has a set time for delayed brew. Set it at night for my morning coffee. Wonder if they took that feature away. Despite the price well above a Mr. Coffee, I have enjoyed the Ninja.
Thanks for the review. I will stick with my Keurig. It does everything that I need and has worked flawlessly daily for 5 years. Cheaper too. I like using one K-cup for a large coffee. Not wasteful. When I make tea, I just put a tea bag in my tall Yeti and push start for the hot water. Really easy. My wife uses a regular coffee pot that makes 10 cups of coffee when she needs more. It cost about $25 and has lasted a long time (cannot remember when we bought it). The cappuccino part was funny. Thanks!
I love my V60 pour over but I do miss waking up to coffee. I really don't like doing coffee beans or tea leaves by volume. I'd have to figure out weight of the different brew sizes. But this machine sounds pretty good.
Nice! I have an older Ninja I’ve been thinking about retiring to the camper and getting one of these for inside. I don’t know if I’d use some of the features, but the tea one is handy. Btw I always use paper filters, just makes cleanup so much easier.
Steve. The biggest problem we have had with new coffee makers is the spout on the carafe. Most of them either drip after the pour or flow over the side if too aggressive with the pour. We have only found 1 that worked well out of at least 5 we have tried. Did you notice any problems with this?
👋❤ Hi Steve, Hi Beautiful Courtney🌹 I want one! lol Thanks for this review. I drink all forms Coffee and my son loves tea. So I LoVe the multi baskets 👍 My Birthday is coming so maybe my husband might get me one. Probably not though because he does not drink either so he would not benefit from it 😂 I will share this link with him though ....and Getting ready to place it in the cart 😁 just in case 👍🤗 Grace,Peace,Prayers,Big Tight HugS, Much ❤LoVe, and holy KisseS to you and your Precious Family ❤ Ps. Courtney's hair color look very pretty 😚😚
Nothing against all fancy and high-quality coffee makers but just using refillable K-Cups in my Keurig has gone a long way to having quality coffee for a rather inexpensive price. And going to step further if you happen to have Aldis in your area: I really enjoy their organic bags of coffee -especially their dark roast Mexican and Sumatra blends... ;)
So this can be used to brew tea? I used to have a nice tea maker for brewing tea, a friend tried to use it to make coffee (not remembering to change the steeping section for the coffee making parts... and destroyed it for me... He melted the steeper). I HATE the "Ice Tea" makers that have come out since then, they break down so fast. I may buy one.
I would have liked to see a temperature test on the full pot of coffee. Often times these coffee machines brew marginally acceptable pots with respect to hotness.
My husband has a Ninja that also has the k-cup feature. One difference is no frother with the model he has, but that's no big deal. I do think it has a timer on it, but not certain-I don't drink coffee...lol
Traditionally cappuccino uses frothed steamed skim milk added afterwards, ended up using whipped cream. Unfortunately, I can no longer tolerate coffee.
I'll make a latte or cappuccino and it's fine. What I'll do is use an oversized mug with 1 cup coffee. I'll froth warm whipping cream mixed with cinnamon and pour it on top of the coffee. It's not a perfect latte but pretty nice for what it is.
Andy loves our cuisine Art that grinds the beans and then makes the coffee. It also has a k-cup. I love ninja everything else. Cold brew sounds good however
I have an older version and like the rich seething because I like my decaf dark and rich. I don’t like how tall it is, doesn’t fit under my cabinets. I got it on sale at local Walmart.
When you made the cappuccino did you use an espresso grind? It should be a fine grind. Cappuccinos are typically 1:4 ratio of espresso to milk. It should have tasted stronger than a regular cup of coffee. Courtney is right. The steamed milk goes in last. Also, I am really enjoying the reviews even the ones I have a differing opinion on (keto brick is a keto backpacker's savior 🤣)
Wow, Steve. You really like your coffee or tea weak. That would be equal to hot water to me. I see the appeal of this machine for people who just want convenience and don't know anything about coffee and just want it easy or ready. But I see nothing that would make a better coffee than any manual (cheaper) method. Plus it sounds very plastic-y. Your audio was great and gave me a good impression. It was interesting to see though. I always think I miss out on some things and now I know I don't with this one. Still want the Creami though. Now the real test would be to use a $30 cheap coffee machine with the same beans and filter and amount of coffee and water and compare to the Ninja.
I have used Keurig for years but decided that now I drink at least 55 ounces of coffee (3-4 pods) per day that the waste and cost of pods were too much. I purchased this exact unit albeit with the Thermal carafe (hence $30 add on) because I hate coffee that sits on the burner for more than 15-20 minutes. Note, this unit does NOT come with a coffee pot burner regardless of which carafe you purchase. I use the RICH setting because I like my coffee strong. I matched this unit with a separate burr grinder from OXO for under $100
Delonghi has made similar-style coffee makers for decades; But superior to Ninja IMO, i.e., real steam froth, steam brewing, some with built-in grinder, start & stop timers, yet similar price range. After going through at least 20 different machines in just as many years, we use a $60 West Bend urn percolator. Rich, flavorful coffee on tap. For a start & stop timer? A $6 mechanical outlet timer by BN-Link.
@@SeriousKetogreat review. I love this coffee maker. I'm glad I found the problem . There is a hairline crack. On the water reservoir. So glad it's not a defect. Because this thing is amazing. Paired with Pete's coffee🤯🤯🤯
Kinda shocked that as much of a foodie as you are, Steve, you haven't really dabbled at all in espresso based drinks like cappuccino. As a Canadian, it is also interesting to see one of the cultural differences between Canada and the US is that most Canadian homes would have a kettle (usually electric). Heating water for tea in the microwave is kinda strange to us! And electric kettles are dirt cheap (cheapest is probably 10-15$). This seems a bit too complex and pricey for me to justify using it for drip coffee, and some of the features are a bit gimmicky (the frother seems like a hassle).
The tea didnt steep enough, it would be too weak for me. I think I'll stick with my kettle and Yorkshire Gold tea bags (Brit imported tea > anything here in the US). I can see this would be useful if you drink a variety of methods. It also doesnt make the most of the ingredients.
Lots of nifty options! I will complain about the “cold brew” option. It’s really just iced coffee. A true cold brew has to steep for much longer. Sorry, I’m picky lol. As for the Keurig, the premade pods always made me nauseated. You can buy paper filters and a reusable plastic cup to use. You can control how much coffee you put in, and you’re only throwing away the paper filter! No delay start?! Eeks!
I may have sent the comment a bit soon lol! Yes, so weird that they would get rid of programmable start time! On the other hand, my current coffee maker only uses military time 😂
I freely admit that the extra options I'd like to see are "dream machine" options. But hey, maybe Ninja will make CP401 with those bells and whistles in the future.
This one's not for me, if anyone knows one at a sensible cost and has a good burr grinder in it, so bean to cup, and has 2 compartments for beans, I want one section normal and one section decaff. Yeah any coffee making you have to dial in your own quantity.
I have an older model of this Ninja and it has a delayed start where you can set the time. Weird they would have taken that out. I use it all the time.
you CAN do a delayed start (I think in 30 minute increments), but you cannot set a specific start time so far as I can tell.
@@SeriousKeto I would double check (since it seems like a feature you really want!) The clock area looks identical to my years old model. Nothing against all fancy and high-quality coffee makers but just using refillable K-Cups in my Keurig has gone a long way to having quality coffee for a rather inexpensive price. And going to step further if you happen to have Aldis in your area: I really enjoy their organic bags of coffee -especially their dark roast Mexican and Sumatra blends... ;)
“ what did we expect,rainbows?”😂😂😂😂
So this can be used to brew tea? I used to have a nice tea maker for brewing tea, a friend tried to use it to make coffee (not remembering to change the steeping section for the coffee making parts... and destroyed it for me... He melted the steeper). I HATE the "Ice Tea" makers that have come out since then, they break down so fast. I may buy one.
Every morning at my house its
"Honey start my coffee" No need for Alexa. LOL
You're daughter is so genuine, same makes me laugh
Wondering about the coffee you used for the cold brew? Thanks for a very informative review!
What are you wondering?
@@SeriousKeto the brand of coffee.
@@janettortora6374 Door County brand. It's a Wisconsin brand.
Thanks so much! Looks like it’s on Amazon ….woohoo!
@@janettortora6374 I think my favorite flavor is Black and Tan for regular coffee. Their flavored coffees are all pretty outstanding too.
wow that is nice, i drink coffee & tea, this is perfect!
I would have liked to see a temperature test on the full pot of coffee. Often times these coffee machines brew marginally acceptable pots with respect to hotness.
I own this, nice and hot.
What a fun video with your daughter... is the serious keto mug available to buy?
Yes, it should be on my TeeSpring link
My husband has a Ninja that also has the k-cup feature. One difference is no frother with the model he has, but that's no big deal. I do think it has a timer on it, but not certain-I don't drink coffee...lol
Traditionally cappuccino uses frothed steamed skim milk added afterwards, ended up using whipped cream. Unfortunately, I can no longer tolerate coffee.
I love my Ninja coffee maker!!!!
Cold brew sounds good however
I love ninja products. Would get the one that has the kcups. I have reuseable kcups so no waste.
I have an older version and like the rich seething because I like my decaf dark and rich. I don’t like how tall it is, doesn’t fit under my cabinets. I got it on sale at local Walmart.
Courtney the Barista!

I feel like you're throwing a fair bit of shade at me with this comment.
Thank you for the review. I have several Ninja appliances, but this one is not for me; will skip past when my current one gives up the ghost. 🙂
I watch all of your videos. I've had to quit coffee since going keto. Makes me too hyper now. (On occasion I'll have a decaf.
I matched this unit with a separate burr grinder from OXO for under $100
To confirm this doesn't use Kcups just loose leaf tea and grounded coffee?
Correct
@@SeriousKeto Thanks for your quick response.
Got mine 12/2021 and already the machine does not recognize the coffee filter, yet it recognizes the tea filter >.
that's not awesome...
I"ve been making coffee cubes for years to put in my cup when I'm in a hurry and want to cool my coffee down.
I need to do the same, now that it's iced coffee season here in Wisconsin.
Why does my reservoir leak and it's new
I've not had that issue. I'd reach out to Ninja.
@@SeriousKeto thank you
@@SeriousKetogreat review. I love this coffee maker. I'm glad I found the problem . There is a hairline crack. On the water reservoir. So glad it's not a defect. Because this thing is amazing. Paired with Pete's coffee🤯🤯🤯
@@kingofslotsmillion3263 Glad you found it. I use mine daily, though I'll admit that I haven't used the frother since this review.
Baristas recommend rinsing paper filters to eliminate possible paper taste. It could make the coffee taste even better.
Never heard of that coffee brand. So it seems you are using a local brand. That what you use all the time?
Yes
I think you you would have better results with the cappuccino if you used espresso coffee.
Eeks!
Pretty sure I mentioned that at the end of the video. Also, did you see the pinned first comment on the timer?
I may have sent the comment a bit soon lol! Yes, so weird that they would get rid of programmable start time! On the other hand, my current coffee maker only uses military time 😂
All those extra options would most likely add $100 to the price. But it's still a nice machine. 🙂
I don't know why specialty coffee came out so bad...mine makes an AWESOME latte.....weird...
@@Techier868 probably user error on my end.
As much coffee that I drink in a day, 1 mug of coffee and 2 mugs of tea, I'll pass. But thanks for the review.
Great review. Not for me. I’m more of a minimalist. Don’t like the frother. I’d make a mess with that. My handheld seems much easier.
Wow, that is some very weak looking tea for being black tea.
To get a consistent cup need to weigh your coffee. 16 grams of coffee per 10oz of water.
