That was an incredible game! The best and closest I've seen yet. I really thought Steven would win, but with good strategy, and luck, it was all pulled through.
To be fair, Steven's team is very reliant on physical strength. Red and Wallace have excellent counters to Steven high defensive team. While Cradily is strong against Wallace's Water-type Pokemon team, Wallace has Pokemon moves that can counter it with ease. Steven put up a great fight though, but Red and Wallace were much better.
Its so amazing that after 20 years on my 30s i accidentally found him while i was searching a bagon to make a Salamence on my" my boy gba emulator.".This game is a masterpiece and can surpise you even after so many years. Thank god i havent spoiled this moment by accident from a youtube video or whatever

what he did was smart, if he used surf/waterfall on claydol It most likely would've put it in the red HP, In which case Steven would've just used a full restore

Why would Metagross be faster? Charizard's base speed is 100 and Metagross base speed is 70.
