      Thean Long , funny last time they did that people moaned their asses off about the styling! So Mazda is being conservative with the rear end looks , I didn’t mind the old version taillights.

  • @wtrdogg20
    @wtrdogg20 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The Mazda BT-50 interior is more luxurius than utilitarian as in the D-Max. Just from the fact that the BT-50 uses much more soft materials and details in the dashboard, plus the lack of pop out cup holders in the dashboard end corners, we can see it is more oriented for the customer looking for refined style more than an adventure style vehicle. That last point is leaving with the hard decision of which one should I get... In my case, Mazda Dealer sucks in my country, and that is really pushing me toward the D-Max, based on my experience with Isuzu (my dad had an Isuzu KB 1987, and it was an amazing pick up truck) and that the dealer is a well known company in my country.

    I am in the market for a ute with a tray. The BT50 in the highest spec dual cab with a tray is not as utilitarian as it's Isuzu counterpart. As a previous DMax owner I would have gone with DMax but the BT50 has positioned itself more at what I am looking for. With Isuzu you would need to get an LS-U and replace the tub. Same for the Hilux SR5

    Recently purchased an XT model 4X4 , nice vehicle to drive, seats are very comfortable, vision is good, night time driving lights are excellent and adjustable, the thing I’m having most trouble with though is the forward collision radar system, if your driving in moderate traffic and need to change lanes quickly, ( from maybe a vehicle in front suddenly braking, and you have room to pass ), the system will automatically apply the brakes overriding your intention to quickly change lanes, had this happen a few times, now though I’m getting accustomed to it, just something to be wary off

    wait a min - all models come with reversing camera! what's new about that? May be if Mazda and D Max had Sorento's reverse camera with crystal clear panoramic view would have been the first in class. My new Triton has a smaller screen and not very high res camera so I actually struggle to see things - well would not have so much 20 years ago!

    I like the cavey feeling when you're inside the car, I think it makes the car feel more like a private space. I've heard rumour that the safety features that use the cameras on the windscreen are adversely effected say, if you have a ladder on your roof that hangs over the bonnet... will be interesting to see if that's true and what the fix will be across the board.

The rear end, and they could also have done some work on the suspension and steering probably...come on Mazda, you are capable to do more!

    Do utes seriously have issues with comfort?
    All my life, ive been in SUV's, such as a Nissan Patrol, now Landcruiser 200, and now my own car, a Jeep Patriot, but ive never really sat properly in a ute. Is it really groundbreakingly weird comfort as these car dudes say it is?
    Or could you comfortably sit in a ute for a daily driver? I really love the look of the 2020 Triton and Ford Ranger, but im getting put off from looking into one because these guys always say how uncomfortable Utes are. So my question is, again, Do utes have issues with comfort?

    You cannot conclude the the engine is less stressed because it is larger. It may well be more stressed because is it larger. If an engine has more mass and more weight reciprocating and rotating, the greater the internal forces of just operating. You can't ignore the dynamic loading and the stresses of the engine upon itself which it has to overcome before it delivers an output. The stresses in anything undergoing applied forces are much more complicated than simply looking at relative sizing. The engine design and the materials used will dictate the internal stresses in the engine far more than the difference in engine capacity.

    Upgrading from a 2016 BT and just did a second test drive of this.. Have to say I’ve been really disappointed with it. The suspension is the worst I’ve driven in any ute I’ve ever had. All utes are a bit rough but the imbalance caused by the terrible leaf springs is a joke. There’s a major floor in the front to rear angle and the leaf springs feel shot in a brand new vehicle! Interior feels cheap and like some knock off. Stupid chimes in the entertainment unit. Engine takes forever to wake up and inconsistent at best. Was looking forward to this model but no idea where these positive reviews are coming from or who would actually buy this ute.

    An underdone engine with outputs down on the old model. Mistake. Apart from the auto and the rear diff lock, the driveline is not a long way ahead of a 1939 WW2 Jeep! I thought we had moved on? I thought there were mechanical improvements like all-wheel drive, limited slip front and rear with driver actuated lock, viscous and Ferguson drive couplings, adjustable suspension heights and active dampners. This is just more mediocre offerings from what the makers think we want.
