Great review! We love our CX5 GS (FWD) 2.5L. Just curious: how heavy is this particular caravan? We're in Canada, and were told by our dealership that the CX5 can tow a max of 2000 lbs., which is barely enough for a very small caravan. I was surprised to see this sized caravan being hauled successfully by a CX5. Any thoughts?
Hello, please help me out, according to the manual: "The Mazda5 is not designed for towing. Never tow a trailer with your Mazda5." I guess it is a no no, then for my car... :(
this is a marketing ads, keep in mind that, from the specs alone, it is not as strong as many other car (toyota sienna and honda odyssey both can tow 3500lb, much more than this car). Towing something isnt just pulling it forward.... if for that purpose alone we can use any car to pull most trailers. What about pulling it uphill, downhill, under hot temperature.... dont be fool by watching this
You can tow up to 2000kg about 4400lbs if you have brake on your caravan. Told by the dealer ship so this is not a scam. Yes 2000lbs whitout brake on the trailer !

The 2.2 engine CAN tow up to 3500lbs, but the other engine sizes for the CX 5 can only pull 2000
it has 310 lb-ft, or 420 N-m...
This trailer is too heavy for most CX 5 models. Max tow is 2000 lbs.
