Force reactive did not do the most damage you forgot skullflame drain life with calculations for black morass. It is flamestrike and drain life for total damage.
I think at the end of the day, each shield is good for certain farms and have certain gear that makes the most chance for that farm and shield combo so it can become increasingly convoluted the further you go down the rabbit hole.
Go with the Mazthoril Honor shield for 35 badges for 23sp, 4668 armor, 115 block. So you can pump the damage a little more. If you run enchanting, u get another 24 SP. If you run the Holy damage cloak from Kara you get another 43 holy damage. Run Libram of eternal rest for another 47 damage to conc. Those few things will give 137 more SP. Build I use is 0/31/30. 3 in reckoning, 1 holy shield, 5 vengence, 3 pressure of justice. I still need to change crystals in helm to SP and don't have SP on rings and am sitting at 560 SP without consumes, 610ish with libram. 260 conc is nice.
You have a critical miscalculation for plg because the proc stacks and stacking it resets the timer. So if it procs a 2nd time after 3 ticks ticks it did 3x12=36 and then 4x 24= 96 together thats 132 and your calculation would only calc 2 procs to 96. The damage gets higher the more refreshes of the proc you get
Thank you very much for this video. It all sounds so understandable to me as a mathematician. Some nice work here. Thanks. The overal conclusion , apart from all the "complicated math for non-mathematicians" is very clear: defense shield when you want to live longer and get another concecration going and skullflame shield if you want to kill off the monsters quick. sounds fair enough
im using my Shield of Condemnation from nax for my strat runs and I also used Skullflame shield and I have to say, the Shield of Condemnation works much better in terms of keeping me alive, giving me mana (more Consecration) and SP for Consecrat. as for the ideal shield which would probably work the best, I would say Aegis of the Vindicator is the best one to get.
A couple things. I have done the run about 15-20 times, and I run with PLG with Felsteel spike. I almost never have trouble with poisons, but when I do, I keep Powerful Anti-venom on me to dispel all the poisons. I consistently do around 60-70k with PLG and around 20k or so with the spike.
Yo arlaeus, I saw on the details breakdown for the skullflame test there was 12k damage attributed to drain life. Is that from skullflame or is it from demon forged BP?
What's the weak aura for the total avoidance calculation he has on the side there? I think I saw someone mention he says what it is in another video, but never could find it..
should really try swapping for Crest of retribution during trinkets. Max your liken guard stacks then swap to Crest of retribution then back to normal shield. you're getting 35 damage per block and if you have a felsteel Spike possibly an extra 38 on top. you swap back to lichenguard at 3 seconds to refresh the stacks.
Awesome this is so good. I built 5 Force Reactive Disks to do these farms. I didn’t have any data so I was worried I wasted the gold but at least I can see it’s viable. Tyvm for doing all this!
Petrified lichen guard is good for large aoe pulls in combination with demon forged.. the type of pull that takes a long time and requires some healing from breastplate to keep you alive
The reason you took more damage with petrified lichen guard is probably because you used blessing of wisdom to test it, but blessing of sanctuary to test the Skullflame shield.
this, on top of not adding in the drain life from skullflame, is just top tier analysis. people basing anything of this video is the epitome of classic wow players.
@@sage2045 I'm sure the healing on the shield helps, but its getting ten stacks of the dot because he couldn't fully block the damage from the spider as often with the other setup that killed him. I think if he was using skullflame shield without blessing of sanctuary, he would still die from too many poison stacks.
It was possible for me to clear this dungeon every fifteen minutes with the Azure-Shield of Coldarra ( Aegis of the Sunbird also worked ) doing most of the damage with Consecration simply because the Colossus trinket has a two minutes cooldown and i had to wait for it to use it at the killing phase so what i did was to focus mostly on defense/spellpower and then open up with Dabiri's + Colossus not even cleansing the poison since the overheal from the trinkets could cover it to eventually follow up with Divine Shield to remove any poison stacks and prolong the Consecration while being prepared to jump behind and kite the mobs around the portal always placing a single max level Consecration at the stairs while waiting for the Colossus trinket to be ready so that i could enter the kill phase with trinkets and Avenging Wrath yet again not cleansing any poison since the trinkets could overheal that ( it was more useful for me if i would swing the weapon and try to get mana with the seal+judgement instead of trying to cleanse all the poison ). I also used Devotion aura + Elixir of Major Defense for another 1300 armor which helped to mitigate even more damage received. And by the way.. I am very grateful for making all these videos and sharing with us so many interesting ideas for farming since i was able at least in my case to no life this farm and buy the epic flying mount in just a few days. p.s. it is a very good idea to keep the holy shield ready for the part where the colossus has only a few seconds left
Have you looked into breaking down what would be required for an "all kill-phase" farm? i.e. what would it take to just gather all the mobs and facetank/consecrate to death (mixing in bubble, dabiri, colossus)?
Skull flame shield also heals you.. it stacks with heal power.. very good if you are doing Aoe boost as a 70 holy pally. My skull flame heal hits me for about 700 and procs enough to keep me from having to heal at all. I can pull all of stocks in one pull
The poison numbers for the shield are off, the poison can stack,. You kept figuring the numbers as 12 damage a tick when it can be as high as 60 damage a tick if you get hit long enough to get the stacks up. You took the lowest possible poison damage output the shield can do for your numbers.
@@taylornowlan6054 No, he shows the number 48 multiple times and even refers to it as the damage for the full duration. Its the full duration of 1 stack. It can stack up to 5 times. It does 12 damage per tick and will tick 4 times. He is going with the numbers that the shield does 4 dps at most when it can top out at 20 dps.
I've been told that there are diminishing returns on the "additional avoidance" but i cant seem to find a formula for it. Looking at the spreadsheet for stockades, it says they have a -8% chance to hit, but that might actually be a positive number assuming diminishing returns on additional avoidance is a thing. To put it into perspective, I have done this farm for about 15 hours now (took me 3 hours to figure out optimum route + dying like 5/6 times intially) and I can do a 110+ mob pull run every single time in about 13-15 minutes (including skinning all mobs). I have skinning and enchanting as my professions to maximise my gph - about 540g/hour based on farmlog on my server depending on the price of netherweb spider silk - i have also been lucky with blue drops/green drops which can boost it up to 750g/hr. As I am running heroics/raid I do not use the farming talents (Sanctity aura) and instead use the normal protection raiding talents and my consecrate ticks for 58 damage (rank 2) and 170 (max rank), 190+ with avenger wrath + wrath of cenarius proc. With the farming talent I reckon I can take it up to 250+ damage per tick at max rank. I use superior wizard oil and greater arcane elixirs to aid me in my run and do not have grenades like Arleus does. I have 474 defense and 513 Holy spell power unbuffed (I have drape of the righteous cloak), 10k health and 5.8k mana. For a fresh 70, be prepared to take > 20 mins per run assuming u have both figurine and Dabiri's. 465 defense is minimum and honestly anything < 200 SP unbuffed is going to be tedious.
