Your newest clove sweater is turning out great! Also I am no clue 3 of the MKAL now and loving it. I peeked at clue 4 and holy is it gorgeous. Can’t wait to have the finished shawl!

Thank you for sharing your reasons for wanting to ignore Halloween. We just never know the things people have been through and have to find ways to deal with. As for knitting in the car, I do it whenever possible. However long the drive home and back is, that could be knitting time.

Thank you for your lovely comment, it's true you never know what someone is going through. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes my emotional support yarn everywhere I go!! 🥰

Thanks for sharing ❤ I too am not a fan of Halloween bc of a death in our family and also have lost a brother to suicide. Sharing your experience makes us not feel alone. Thank you ❤and Sending hugs
100% car knitter, in fact I’m a little bummed when I don’t have to wait as long as I expected to in the car 😅
Also love your alpine bloom yarns and I immediately went to check out the softest yarn ever!

I'm sorry it took so long to respond to this Mari, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. There are so many people whose lives have been touched by suicide and it seems like nobody talks about it, which is the whole problem - if the world was more accepting to people being open about their struggles then maybe we could do something about suicide rates 😥

I feel your pain on the sleeve stripes. I just finished the Elton Pullover by Joji and it was super frustrating. I found some relief by putting one ball INSIDE the sleeve.

Oooh that's an excellent tip.... I still haven't finished my stupid sleeves so I'll give that a try!

Sorry to hear about your high school friend. I am not a Halloween fan either, and with one kid with a life threatening nut allergy we haven’t done Halloween in years. This year I have puppy class on the 31st so I get to mainly avoid it. I did get the puppy a costume to go to class in. I think it’ll be cute. I love the sweater you’re wearing in this episode. Auggie is so cute! I do want to make my new puppy a sweater but I am waiting for her to be full size before knitting it. Thanks for the pattern recommendation! Oh, I booked my hotel for Knit City Calgary for next year. Looking forward!

Ok! Firstly, huge hearts to you for the beginning of this video. Trauma is hard and dumb and BLEGH. BLEEEGGHH. And secondly, I am totally one of those wait in the car & knit people too. I do that almost every day because I finish work at 5 and my husband finishes at 6 and like I could drive home but it is just easier to sit and knit in the car for 45 minutes instead. I do the same thing when he has to go to the print studio. If it is around 2 hours, I will literally sit in the parking lot because it feels like a total waste of time to drive home only to turn around like 90 mins later. Lol. I HEAR YOU. ❤

Sorry for the delay responding to this! Thank you for your lovely comment, it felt very vulnerable to put that out there and the response has been very supportive and loving so I'm so grateful for that. ❤ Happy car knitting!

Sorry for your trauma… I was a child around the age of 11 , went out for trick or treat, coming back to my house in my neighbour hood as I came to my street, someone jumped out of the bushes at me and chased me, I ran.and I ran ….as I kept running it felt like the house was getting farther and farther …. I threw my bag of treats, part of my costume, (while screaming through the whole thing) and zig zagging. Finally I go into my home to my mom, I felt safe.. the I didn’t because the person in the mask (old man rubber mask ) was standing right behind me in the kitchen,,, I was so scared I threw up all over it’s shoes,,, it was a my aunt in the costume…she didn’t mean to scare me so much but she did, I didn’t go out for trick or treating since then, just don’t like people in mask, especially clowns 🤡 , man I hate them. So I get it when something triggers a feeling of unsettling …. Some people love it. and that’s ok…. On a happy note, love each and every podcast… ❤

That sounds absolutely terrifying... I'm so sorry! I don't understand why people think it's funny to scare kids. My youngest is particularly sensitive to scary stuff, so he's super cautious when we go trick or treating - if he sees anything other than a pumpkin on the step he's worried it's going to jump out at him. (But he does make my husband go up ahead of time to test it out, which can actually be quite funny 🤣)
