- The Riot Shield and Baton in THE FINALS needs better guides. Here's my attempt at letting you grow as a Riot Shield Medium. The best tip and trick for the Riot Shield is to make the distance and not lose momentum by using the slide or, if you're good enough, the Ayam Shield Slide.

To me, it's all about the slide when chasing, it's so enjoyable! Goo plays a close second, flashy flash third, and a mobility aid for the final slot. Enjoy, glad to hear someone out there'll be smashing it with these techniques!
@@Playam Honestly sliding is the least used mechanic that I play with. I'll miss an entire weekly challenge that's just "Damage opponents while sliding" because I never use it. This'll definitely make me focus on it more

Thanks for watching to the end, gang :) that last clip might be another lesson that actually the guy I was pursuing may have shot the mines rather than me landing on them, which can be tricky to avoid. More to learn, always!
Yo riot main here. If the shield is in your hand you do not set off mines, and if it's held up sometime (it's glitchy) it will remove the mine off the field as well.
Good tip, I hardly use the mine hoover but that's my short sightedness. Thank you!
Playing riot shield feels like what dagger should feel like
I kind of see what you're saying, dagger user is much more high risk high reward up close and feels like it should have at least a bit more survivability. Such is the life of a Light. 😅

We should so do a double lvl 6 riot shield at some point just to be silly.
Can do, I'm a bit rusty on it because I want my aim back so trying to make the revolver work. If you join the discord there are shouts for playing THE FINALS there about once per week. You'll probably put me to shame, looking forward to it!
Level 6 shield main here, I'm sorry to say but the shield is the worst weapon in the game even with all these tricks that I also use plus more it's still incredibly hard to do good, unless you play against idiots you'll never do well in a sweat lobby
Against meta it's very beta, I agree, at Platinum rank I had to put it to the side. Sad to see it gathering dust on the mantlepiece.

@@Playam I mean this in a nice way but I think it's just how you're playing. I got to Diamond using basically only the riot shield, you're not running defib which is already considered throwing in the current meta. Also castling is one of the most important tricks with the shield, and you don't mention or use it at all in this video. Also also, you aren't quick meleeing heavies even though you listed it as a tip, and most of your attacks just seem to be wildly swinging without much thought. You keep swinging when the enemy is 2 meters in front of you, obviously not able to reach him and you're just slowing yourself down which is not what you want when using shield.
To put it simply, the shield isn't the problem, your skill is.

Can you turn off auto melee aim?
Nope, unfortunately not to my knowledge, it will sometimes grab your aim from one intended target to another when up against 2 :(
bro that first clip the throwing knife use SUCKED+ and so dids the sword user I have kill so many riot shield user with the sword and only dieing to a roit shiedl 1 out of 75 times but thios giude was helpfull so thank you
Sword users who know how to blade-ballet are very difficult to deal with. Props to you guys, I wish the shield had some consistency in blocking to have a cooler duel.
@@Playam Yah I tried the roit shiled and the closing distance NEEDS TO BE FIXED rather make it so THE SECODERY FIRE IS BETTER THAN NOT DOING ANITHING AND JUST TURNING LEFT OR just get speed boost
