I have it in the rainbow version and you’re right, it’s a killer for big rainbow and brown trout in the watersheds I fish. Can’t wait to try the shad version. I have the perfect spot picked out for it! Thanks for the announcement.
The bass and pike on the Hudson will have a new friend! I Picked one up this winter while daydreaming of Spring. We are almost there!! Great selection Brian!
I've been waiting for spring, I'll be calling hopefully tomorrow afternoon to talk about what I need for my first fly rod! Too bad it's a 4 1/2 hour drive for me, I wish I could just visit the store, but I guess the phone will have to do.
Not sure exactly what line he was using but he certainly bought it here: www.madriveroutfitters.com/c-770-hi-vis-fly-lines.aspx You could give him a call or send him an e-mail at the shop and he might be able to tell you exactly.

Brian, I am looking for books and magazines geared toward fly fishing in the southern part of central united states. Is there anything you’d recommend?
Here is a link to the books we sell: www.madriveroutfitters.com/c-160-fly-fishing-books-maps-and-dvds.aspx Feel free to give Brian a call at the shop if he can consult further.
Most any small white fly will get them. I’ve been catching huge numbers (release most) of Whites in central Tx. on small (size of a quarter) White & Grey Clousers. My buddy ties on 2 on a 6wt and catches 2 at a time. I prefer 1 at a time. I use a 4wt with sinking line for waist deep or deeper water. Keep fly close to the bottom. If using a floating line, use lead eyes to get it down. Good fishing to you!🎣
@@Madriveroutfitters Sorry! I didn’t answer Bills question, just said what I’ve been using. I didn’t mean to interfere with sales.😬 I agree with Brian that fly will catch any fish that eats other fish..Whites, Reds, Trout and thousands of others! I tie my own flys but I tried to order some Swimmin Jimmies quite a while back and they were back ordered. I’ll definitely try again now. Thanks for all you do MRO. 🎣. (Edit) I just ordered 2..can’t wait to try on some Lunker Largemouths! 👍🎣

Shoutout the the greatest fly of all time. We love you, Swimmin' Jimmy!

Got 2 Swimming Jimmies on the way! 👍 What weight rod do you prefer for size 4. I saw a reply a .012-.013 tippet was recommended.
We typically fish them on 7wt or 8wt rods. Feel free to call the shop if they can help further.
Great. I thought about that weight. I have an 8 so will be putting it to use. Thanks again MRO 🎣
Nice work.
Thanks for watching.
That water is just a tad different from my spring creeks of WI
True, but the fish still eat other fish! Swimmin' Jimmy doesn't discrimiate based on water type!!!!
My dog's name is Kimber too
Cool. Great name!!!
Nice!
Thanks for watching.
Hi, still no fly tying tutorial on Swimmin’ Jimmy by MRO? Thanks.
Nobody here knows how to tie it! Our good friend Kelly Galloup over at the Slide Inn did it though and his is hard to beat. Check that video out and you'll be all set. Thanks!!!
I wonder how the swimm in jimmy would stand up to our Murray cod here in Australia, they grow to about 90lbs on average and about 4ft long
Give it a shot!
can you use these to catch large mouth bass or snook / redfish ?
As stated, yes.

What’s the best tippet/leader size for this bad boy?
Usually .012" or .013" for the large ones.
@@Madriveroutfitters thank you so much
Would you recommend this for white bass here in Texas as well as specks/reds on the Texas coast?

Yes. Especially in the smaller size on the white bass.
