As much effort as this was put in, and as much as I loved it, I feel like it was made too early. Sparkle is right around the corner and she has a high chance to make IL and Jing yuan more convenient to use (no need for speed boots+SP). I guess seele and QQ as well but they aren't really in a dire need for sparkle (In my opinion). Great video overall, super duper informative.
That's a fair point, but I actually liked that he didn't wait for sparkle. I, for one, am saving for acheron mommy.
not to completely disagree with your comment, but i think a lot of f2p players might want to clear MoC content now because they'll get a substantial amount of stellar jades to add to their sparkle/aventurine/acheron funds

jy does not need speed boots as is with the correct teams. ddd ty + asta with attack boots is more than enough to get the job done. i cleared moc12 in 2 cycles w my jing yuan.
i dont really find ruan mei to be as good as asta atm in the hyper carry team for that reason, but im sure zmm has his own reasons for preferring rm.
there's a lot of focus on f2p with this channel though, and although Sparkle is looking to be great, she's not locked in for ppl as much as you'd think. i know a few ps5 players who don't have a single 5* sustain, and that takes precedence over Sparkle. especially since not everyone has or even wants DHIL or Jing Yuan (most ppl are going for Acheron or Aventurine in my friend group.)
there's a decent amount of jades that could be potentially grabbed right now rather than waiting for a single character to drop. so these sorta f2p showcases are really nice.

I tried soo hard to force Jingyuan to 4 or at least 5 cycle it with both bronya and sparkles (managed to 3 or 4 cycle it, but god dayum thats hard and soo many retry), can't believe you can do it within 3 cycle with those characters 😅

Question, what is the bonus damage a character gets from being leveled from 71 to 80? I really dont want to waste all my talent books, especially with Aventurine upcoming
I do feel like there is a bias to the people who would answer a star rail survey in the first place.
@@MayW15663 Real there's almost always bias towards the waifu characters
For DPS you should level it to 80, there's limiting damage you deal based on difference yours and enemy level(i don't remember the number).
And at level 80 it unlock trace that useful for several characters, for example bonus break effect for RM/bonus wind dmg for BS. For support at least lvl 75 if you want to save jades while still unlock some trace.
To be honest my lynx as 2nd team sustain still level 70/70 for pretty long time because in the future her being replaced is inevitable😢

Used blade-pela-bronya-bailu, huohuo-tingyun-ruan mei-dhil through this whole moc cycle, occasionally swapping pela and ruan mei. Definitely a fun rotation, although very difficult with the tanky bosses haha
Thx your video was really helpful, I was clearing first half in 3 cycles with Kafka, blk swan, tingyun, geppy, but the second half was annoying ASF. Adding asta to the Dr ratio team and swapping out silver wolf for pela was really helpful. I clear in 20 with Dr ratio, asta, pela, fu. Thx I was about to level traces.
... and here I am with an 80 crit rate Dr. Ratio... With 100 crit damage. At least he has 4 pc Diver bonus. The alternate is 50/150 which is probably worse overall. I still need to attempt floor 12 on the previous MoC where the turbulence should hopefully make up for the lackluster crit stats.
yeah the 80/100 would give an 80% damage increase while the 50/150 would only give 75%
Real, idk where people are getting these artifacts from. I've been farming since day 1 and all my dps still have completely scuffed crit ratios.

Wait, why use S3 Genius Repose over S5 Cosmos for Jingyuan? Same ATK buff with a higher and much more reliable CRIT DMG bonus (from 36% to 40%), completely F2P guaranteed. The fact that he was able to reach 3-4 cycles (competitive with Kafka) while on SPD boots and the 4pc Lightning set is also pretty impressive. That clear time would become substantially faster if he were on 4pc Grand Duke and ATK boots. Your Tingyun is on DDD too, so you don't need any SPD to get enough stacks.
Like I get 4:21 is mostly a joke, but I think a viewer watching a guide like this deserves to get an up-to-date picture of how strong he actually is (for example: it's literally impossible to farm relics for JY for 6 months when his best relic set came out in 1.5).

However, if your only takeaway from my comment is the 4% crit damage difference, and you ignore everything else I said: (1) the higher passive uptime, (2) the wrong mainstats on boots, (3) the wrong set, (4) the fact that even with this setup I found his clear speed pretty impressive, then I'm truly sorry.
the intriguing part about Death is that in phase 2, normally Death locks onto 2 characters whoever uses their actions first. however there's an interesting and most likely very difficult way to cheese this mechanic from taking 2 characters.
if and only if, by any chance you're lucky enough to only have one character go before Death, especially if its the one you want to be taken, then Watery Dissolution only takes that one character instead of two chars, as long as you didn't press any other ult. this actually makes this moc surprisingly a lot easier to take on.
but that's legit the hard part, since the chances of only 1 char lining up before Death's turn in phase 2 doesn't seem very feasible.
but its deff possible to happen. if it does then Death becomes a lot easier to deal with in phase 2 since you'll only lose 1 member instead of 2

I had similar setups, but fire MC in the first half instead of March in 1st half, Bailu in 2nd half instead of MC and Guinaifen instead of Pela. Yes, Pela gives more damage, but I used defense and hp relics on Guinaifen and Luka's lightcone, and her Firekiss is a good damage boost! Also, her skill into ult instantly clears meme's statues to revive characters, it's huge.

JY (Signature LC), Tingyun (DDD S3, E6), Ruan Mei (4* LC that gives 28% BE, S5 E1), Pela (Luka LC S2, E6) 1 cycled MoC 12 first half.
0 Event sustains. (Gepard/Bailu only)
I used Black Swan, Kafka, Lynx, and Ruan Mei for 1st half and Hanya, DHIL, Luocha, and Tingyun on the 2nd half. Just barely scraped by with 21 cycles remaining. This is the first MoC I was able to full clear though. The last one I got blocked at 12 cause Jingliu was taking 7 cycles to kill the stupid deer.
My MoC 12 Teams
No Sustain:
1st - Black Swan, Kafka, Asta, Tingyun
2nd - Ratio, Bronya, Ruan Mei, Topaz
Sustain:
1st - Black Swan , Kafka, Asta, Bailu
2nd - Ratio, Topaz, Ruan Mei, Luocha
For mov 12 3 star i used Imbibitor Lunae with tingyun, pela and Natasha on the first half
On the second half I used dr ratio, welt, ruan mei and Huo huo
I did try to use the Kafka, black swan ruan Mei and huo huo comp, but I guess my black swan and or Kafka are just to weak lol
I didnt have a fx to carry either of my sides so i had a +1 on either side of the team. I ran Seele TY SW Lynx and Jingliu Bronya Ruan Mei Luocha so I totalled 9 cycled moc12

Fire mc was able to carry me in MOC 10 wich I was having trouble with, so I built her yesterday and I got gepard's lightcone from the standart banner, it was so meant to be lol
Dr. Ratio really likes manual play and supports with an ultimate that hits the enemy.

I did it without March, The key point is to just focus all your damage onto the mara struck one and try to kill him before he summons his goons. The reason why is so that when the cycle buff comes to hit , all the damage is redirected To them instead of those small mara struck ones. That's where the damage difference is created.

im having a difficult time to clear MoC 11 and 12. My DPS talents are at lv 8, do you think its better to level them up to 10 or to farm more relics
Depends on who youre running.
If youre only a few cycles off from clearing with 3 stars and no downed allies you should max traces especially on harmony/nihility.
Personally cant clear it in time either until I pull Sparkle to improve my Dan Heng
I am so close to beating moc 12 on full auto play on my f2p account. I just wish there was 2nd Ruan Mei
Update: I just beat it on full auto, I just had Jingliu bruteforce the 1st side with pela/bronya & then used your Sampo/Swan/Ruan Mei comp

@@yeahso8225 Idk what zmm did. but for me it was when I started leveling my relics (even purple ones to level 9/12) that really helped me clear the endgame
@@yeahso8225You don't need to rush to get to MoC. If you still can't clear FH10 then you prob won't be able to clear the first 5 stages of MoC anyway.
Just take it slow, level up your characters to level 70 minimum, then it would be smooth sail. If you are TL43 you still have a long way buddy. Just have some fun while doing dailies since it's the biggest TL exp boost. You'll eventually get to it.
When you do unlock it, be sure to pull for JingYuan the next time he comes around. Super op unit, definitely top 2 in the game!!

I use many teams starting with JY and Kafka. Then i finish it with JingLiu and DrRatio and Blade

I have a F2P account and have DHIL with LC, Jingliu with LC, BS, Ruan E1 (really lucky). Is not for a bad thing but I can't understand what's he meaning of "F2P friendly" team. If it means with units you normally have got it (because Tingyun is a gacha unit).
a f2p team is usually just a team with 3/4 four stars or all four stars with no sig lightcones

Thanks for the guide! I ended up barely getting 20 cycles. Didn't expect to completely ignore my FX and have a surprise fire TB carry.
That being said, i found it better for *Pela* to get taken in the first phase given the state of the fight (Dr Ratio being taken as suggested didn't go well at all).
I used:
1. March, Sampo, Black Swan, Kafka (4 Cycles)
2. TB, Tingyun, Pela, Ratio (6 Cycles)
Used ratio SW tingyun 1st node
Dan Heng IL pela Ruan mei 2nd node 💀

Ugh how you get so fast clears ? Clears with 3 or 4 cycles on average is so crazy
All my f2p teams with proper sustains well build dps everything maxed to the best of my capabilities only thing left is relic rng still get an average of 7 cycles per team, can't get the last stars despite the best of my efforts
Blade.. Ratio.. Clara.. Topaz.. Bronya RM Ting.. I literaly have the chars for some of best Ratio and Blade teams and there's still no way to get it done
In my best runs for moc 12 I can narrow it to 5 cycle clear with Fu Clara Ting RM 1st half and then Ratio Topaz SW Luocha for second half but they just never clear in time they need 6 cycles, the boss always had a few hp remaining
Seriously my Ratio is on a solid 66/155 2p FuA 2p debuff, thats without his buff and he can get extra crit with the SU hunt cone condition
And my Topaz have similar crit ratio full FuA set with an S5 Swordplay, both all traces maxed, Salsotto planar and they still can't get the boss killed in time, I've spent several days reseting so many times that I know the fight perfectly but still.. 3* is unreachable..I can clear just never fast enought I'm at the point I'm sure I've reseted enought to get get a run in which Ratio never missed a crit I'm losing my sanity over this watching guides says how easy it is and still not being able to figure out why I dont have enought dmg like I'm stuck against a wall
Honestly losing all motivation in the game I dont know why I bother farming for months to build chars and its still not enought
but nice tierlist anyway, biggest issue is we are limited by what we own, saw some Dhil with Sparkle he just obliterate the boss like its nothing, as usual

I used a Kafka Black Swan Bronya and Huo Huo team for 1st half with Kafka and BS And even bronya has her own BiS LC,
2nd Half DHIL, Dr. Ratio, Sparkle And gepard. with dhil and sparkle both having their Best In Slot Lightcones. AND I STILL CAN'T 3* 12th man.. all of them are built. I'm a Dolphin and a spender yet I still can't clear this shit
Ok nvm I just had a realisation. This Game Is ALL ABOUT HITTING THE RIGHT ENEMIES (ik it's silly how I put it but hear me out)
I actually managed to clear MoC 12 with 36*s just after writing the above comment. Basically the secret about ez clearing MoC is just to clear the enemies Who are using up the Cycle Buff before it can deal damage to them , as there is a significant amount of damage loss when they are getting hit and ultimately it makes a difference. For this cycle You only need to focus on the enemy beside that Horse legged Enemy i.e the mara struck one that throws a polearm at you. if you manage to kill him before he summons his 2nd phase targets then you can easily redirect all the damage to the main bosses and have an ez clear that's it.
@@thechosen0ne1 well after intensive, really intensive tryhard I managed to pass with my garbage teams but that's not enought to consider it as a win as it was really close like really had to get the luckiest run ever for it to pass at the very last action so there's need for improvement but I don't seen room for improvement without whaling or coping on relic rng,
So.... really gonna have to farm relics for a while to increase these dmg and if they increase MOC difficulty (they will) it's definitly not gonna pass next time
@@thechosen0ne1 Well on that regard I absolutly can't clear them as I lack aoe too much so they are definitely wasting the moc buff and it's not helping as it's the moc buff that end up killing them while I focus the elites
Guess the blame is on me for having too many hunt units (Seele Topaz Ratio) and not enought Aoe ones (Clara and Blade are good but doesn't match well the sides where I could use them to clear the smaller ennemies)

Try using attack boots with Jing Yuan and DDD on TY. I literally can do every team composition here at e0s0 Jing Yuan and do all of it on (RM being close to 2)3 cycles with a full budget team

I've been back in HSR for a few weeks now and I'm still pretty lost tbh, Idk how to use the majority of characters, and the fact that there isn't any good f2p defensive unit, make things even harder

Once you beat a certain quest you'll get lynx so with natasha and lynx separate, you should be fine
Here the thing though, they need max ascension (not level). And maxed level light cones
There are so many: Nat,Lynx,FireTB,March. Work on FireTB and Lynx is my recommendation

Best tip is always to roll 2 5 star sustains as soon as possible. Adventurine is coming soon and he is a very good sustain unit

Just did a 3 cycle auto with JY, TY, e1 Mei and Huo, JY used s5 Peaceful Day. And I can do a manual 3-2 cycle with Hanya instead of Mei (and some simple sustain with no cc cleanse like Bailu).
With all do respect, I don't think that your assessment of him is fair. You use all the typical talking points of people who don't understand how to play him and say that he's mid. Well, at least you don't say the mid part and acknowledge that he can be very strong, so thanks for that) You also make a typical mistake of using speed boots - that is an inferior option for him in every scenario (outside of Pure Fiction).
And no, he doesn't need a lot of investment to be good. A Kafka with similar investment and similar teams will perform roughly the same.
Yeah, watching that segment felt like I time-travelled to 1.1 meta or something, back when people hyperfocused SPD for LL stacks and don't kill adds before it strikes. We've since found much better ways to scale him.
Tbf I understand why he was using Speed Boots since there wasn't a really dedicated Speed buffer in the teams (Yes, Ruan Mei isn't a dedicated Speed buffer people). Something like a JY - TY - Asta - Fu Xuan might have given him better results.
Also I know it's taxing to refarm a whole new set, but the FUA set is also waaaay better than the lightning set on him.
@@catteo2832 RM and TY + DDD is enough to remove the need for SPD entirely, actually.
He definitely does need higher investment than more dps, while a kafka with the same investment as a good jingyuan still does a bit more damage, a kafka with low investment does substantially more damage than a low investment jingyuan. Speed boots are useless on him tho. When you look at him in comparison to every other limited dps, he definitely is mid, serviceable but mid. Should be fine once sparkle is out ig

I recommend waiting until Hoyo adds a reset button, use that reset on Midyuan to get back the wasted upgrade mats, pull for Black Swan, and give her the lightcone.

I love your guides man and I really hate leaving negative comments or getting into any sort of drama but come on man can we please leave the "mid-juan" joke alone? I had him from the first patch (no signature lc) and he carried me through the hardest content and i still use him daily (i have most limited 5 stars on my acc including kafka). comparing him to kafka is not fair since they have completly different gameplay mechanic - dots vs fua crits. It's like comparing a car to a ship like yeah both will get you to a destination but in completly different way. also what high investment that you need to put into him are you talking about? giving him around 60% crit rate and anything from 120% crit dmg or higher like almost any normal dps? especially since we have so many supports now to help out with crits + broken keel. I play him all the time and I ask myself everytime how is he mid? he's strong as he is, sure he's not jingliu or dhil but for an erudition fua character he's absolutely busted imo in every type of content.
seeing this much negativity said about a character who is not even bad at all just isn't in the top 10 strongest characters in the game makes my expirience in the fandom (and probably any other players who like using him) unpleasant. all i want is respect especially if the character is not even remotely "mid".

Looks like misinformation from 1.0 is still going strong huh? I was wondering why your JY is doing so little dmg then i notice the traces........please level up his traces, LL is only 60% of his dmg at max and only get lower as there are more enemies on the field, skill and ult make up the bulk of his dmg in AoE and contribute to 40% of his dmg in ST. Also use the new FUA set and atk boots on him, use DDD on TY on TY+RM comp and Planetary on TY+Hanya comp, there's no situation where spd boots is better than atk boots on JY.

Dr Ratio + Topaz + Ruan Mei/Asta/Pela + Sustain (preferably Perservation to run Trend of the Universal Market if you don't have enough debuff for Ratio is probably) his best team for floor 12. Ratio and Topaz works off each other really well by quickly killing one target and moving on to the next and Something Unto Death's phase 2 help Ratio and Topaz quickly kill off Something Unto Death since Ratio and Topaz's ult work very well with each other.
Something Unto Death being weak to Ratio and Topaz also help significantly.

I think a core issue not only on Jing Yuan but more so on crit related erudition is that there's not really that much free to play option weapons to utilize their kits. But that's more really into the game state than the character. We don't even have herta weapons for erudition characters while nihility immediately got it. Genius repose and other erudition weapons are majority via gacha so superimpositions can be tricky.
Also on the necessity of having Fu Xuan, she does provide comfort but not really a necessity. If the issue is CR then that's practically a build issue on the player's side. and if the issue is CC then anyone with cleanse mitigates it.
There's also a lot of issues on your Jing Yuan build. Having a 73/137 Crit Ratio is one. The 2nd is having a speed boots. Tingyun (with eidolons) on DDD + Ruan Mei can guarantee you 10 stack properly so having an ATK boots is better for damage output.
Lastly with all due respect, i don't think it's a fair assessment to only label him as someone that needs high investment because frankly speaking all crit related characters does require high investment. High investment for higher dmg output. That itself is the pros and cons on DoT or Crit characters. It's a pity that these incorrect information is still being regurgitated time and time again and the patch is already 2.0
