    Okay but most truckers won’t pay over 10% of the load not only that but as a dispatcher keeping track of more then 5-10 trucks starts getting difficult the chances of people making 20k a month are like 5% of the people who actually do and can figure it all out

    • @codlogisticsllc

    • @jaistar3189
      @jaistar3189 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I'm a dispatcher, and my fee is 10%. My fee is higher because unlike most dispatchers I use sonar technology that allows me to position my client's trucks only in areas that have the highest paying freight, including backhauls. The software allows me to see the highest paying lanes in each city and state--it lists the dollar amount for each lane. In other words just by clicking on each state, the software lets me know the number of loads and the number of trucks in each state. If I know SC has 3000 loads of freight and only 400 trucks and I see which lanes are paying the most in that state, I easily double my client's weekly revenue from what they earned before being dispatched by my company. Dispatchers who charge less, cannot afford the technology that I use to dispatch.

    • @jaistar3189
      @jaistar3189 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The market average is higher. I have a dispatching company, and we charge 10%. I can guarantee any dispatcher charging 2/3% isn't dispatching trucks based off of sonar technology. Our database allows us to see which lanes in the country pay the highest amount based on real-time tender transactions. On an average week our carriers are earning over $7K. We also maintain driver files for our clients; 3% is fine until the DOT puts a driver out of operation for 30 days for not having their paperwork in order. Our drivers never have to worry about this or audits. You get what you pay for.

    I would say that is a lot of comission. Can you share with us some inside information - most drivers that pay this % are native Americans? I’m a dispatcher working for a dispatch service company, our company offers top results with experienced dispatchers, we re still able to average $3 per mile for both vans and reefers using special strategies. I would consider opening a dispatch company on my own, honestly 2% would be enough for me if they’re not operating under my MC. If my 5-6 trucks make 150k-200k a month I’ll be happy with my 4k net comission, if talking about hiring other dispatchers I would consider 4% a good profit for me and my employee. What are your thoughts?

    • @Gill22
      @Gill22  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I personally don’t consider anything under 8%. The reason we charge more is because we offer a lot more than just dispatching (i.e: financial metrics tracking, 24/7 native english speaker support, safety/compliance review, direct shipper leads, etc.). You can be the best dispatcher in the world but if you don’t know how to get clients and make a compelling offer, you’ll struggle to book a client even for 3%.

      Depends on if they want to get set up with a factoring company. If so, you will creat an invoice and send to them. They will pay you directly and pay the carrier directly. If not, I send weekly invoices so they can ACH me within a set period of time. If they fail to pay, they get a few more days to pay but we charge a high interest for a late fee… if we still don’t get paid, then we charge their credit card that we have on file.

    6 days passed since we delivered their load but, they still didn't pay our money.

    No wonder truck drivers complaining. It's best all truckers get their kids or family members to do so.

    • @Gill22
      @Gill22  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yeah I would totally recommend all truckers try to dispatch themselves and even find all the direct shipper loads as well. But like anything, there’s always people that can’t find loads themselves, can’t efficiently plan routes, don’t have the daily data to track outbound volume, and can’t negotiate at all.

      @@emprendedorlatino685 as a person who has driven a bit. GPS don't tell you everything you need to know. Roads trucks can't use, over pass hights, getting permits, getting pilots, making sure you have time to simply be on time for DOT. 11 hours of driving so you have to deliberately calculate his speed at 50 mph to account for traffic, mandatory breaks and time to get off the road before they run out of time. Then making sure the driver is aware of how many miles they did in each State so they can pay their fuel tax. It's a lot

      @@emprendedorlatino685 A GPS can't see which lanes in the country pay the highest rates. On an average week our carriers are earning over $7K. We also maintain driver files for our clients; 3% is fine until the DOT puts a driver out of operation for 30 days for not having their paperwork in order. Our drivers never have to worry about this or audits. You get what you pay for.
