Hi just wanted to mention that this isn't actual sphere but a simulation, when you move your camera it doesn't change relative to it. I don't know that is possible without a 3d program or Element3D but that's what I was searching for and I didn't hear it being mentioned in the video.

On Adobe's forum someone wrote this...Open your image in Photoshop then select the offset tool and slide the left edge to the middle of the image. I would bet you can see a seam. Use the clone tool to fix the problem then use your repaired and offset image in your project.

I would like to make an actual sphere and mask a map of Earth on to it so that I could manipulate the 3d camera to be zoomed in on the sphere surface and then pull away to reveal the scale and rotation. This is nice, but it's still just a sphere effect. Any tips?
can you make an ACTUAL 3d sphere? and not just a flat circle that creates the illusion of a sphere? cause if i pan the 3d camera the "sphere" is still flat. i want to make a bomb using the sphere and cylinder protruding from the top of it. is that possible in AE? or do i have to extrude the flat planes with millimetric smaller increments like a 1000 times to make it look spherical?

You can import a cloud map and add the cc sphere effect, scale it 10px more than your earth and set your blendmode to add to get some sexy clouds

+Idaho River House you may need to use Cinema4D to make a real sphere. Otherwise you would need to later the soon with different maps

is that 3d? because when I apply that effect (cc sphere) on to a solid it still remains 2d, when I look from top or other view.
It's 2D as a layer, but if you attached the rotation on the CC Sphere with a 3D null (angle by angle), then it will work as a 3D layer.
