Janine, those pants are beautifully stitched! Comfort is everything! You can't ask for anything better than consistent when picking patterns. I am going to check the patterns. I am in no way "curvy", I have a "flat" butt and waist is almost the same as hips! Glad you are on Friday sews because get to see more of you!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching ❤️ My waist is pretty close to my hips, too. Certainly no hour glass here 😆 Indie patterns sure seem to do a better job of providing for a range of shapes.
Hi, What an excellent vlog of your jeans making, despite sewing for decades, I have never made jeans and often feel I should !! Yours are a great fit and they really do look comfortable. You should be rightly proud of them, Thank you for taking the time to share.
I had a similar experience with the Ames Jeans. Thank you so much for your excellent review of this pattern. I’m with you in the love of all things Cashmerette! I now use them almost exclusively.
Congratulations on your jeans! Getting such a great fit on your first pair is amazing!!! Deciding on a design for the back pockets of pants used to be a bit overwhelming for me , until I stumbled upon using a small quilting square stencil. I just place the stencil on the pocket and use my chalk marker to mark the design. Since it's a quilting design it's just one continuous line of stitching, I've used some of the Closet Core designs in the past, but the quilting stencil gets me a quick and easy finish that looks good without a lot of hassle. Just an idea for you to consider for the future.
Thank you Nadine! I like the idea of a quilting design = even though I don't quilt. Although I love my cats (obviously!), the idea of something simple and more linear is appealing.
Hi Janine. Your jeans turned out really great and they look fabulous on you too!! I also am a Cashmerette Club member and was hesitant to make these jeans but now you have given me the courage to give them a go. Thanks for the full review!
Deanna, I hope the pattern works for you! In the next week or two I'm planning to make another pair using some denim that has less stretch. Do you have some fabric in mind?
Hello Janine. Thank you for such a comprehensive review, and the end result is fantastic. I was impressed by the amount of measuring that took place before even selecting a pattern size. I have a particularly annoying fit issue with the jeans I make and thought this pattern might help me resolve it, so it is disappointing it is only a Club Cashmerette pattern. I am not at all curvy and prefer to choose which patterns to buy so the membership doesn't work for me, sadly.
Fiona, thank you for watching and commenting! I completely understand not joining a club or subscription service. I am also wary and for the time being, I'm enjoying this one. Cashmerette has a trouser pattern in their regular patterns and I suspect that they have the same level of detail in measurements and fitting. That pattern is available in the full size range (0-16 and 12-32). Perhaps this would be something that could work for you? www.cashmerette.com/collections/cashmerette-patterns/products/meriam-trousers-0-16-pdf-pattern
I love your jeans. They look fabulous. And as usual, i enjoyed your detailed descriptions. However, I hope you won’t regret choosing that fabric with the black cats: it appeared one already has escaped about midway through your video. 😉
Done. Thanks so much. Your pants look great and I might try them myself. I keep signing up for your meet ups and then missing them I am sorry. I don't know how to un RSVP.
Thanks so much, Liz! We've missed you at the Meetups. And I agree that it's so frustrating to figure out how to do some things on that app. I'll take a look at the app and will send you a PM with how to change a response. Hope to see you again soon!
So pleased you reviewed this pattern! I’ve also had very good results with Cashmerette patterns. I make so few additional adjustments with these. I have been a club member for awhile. Jenny’s videos are worth the cost alone. I have a few Cashmerette sewing plans for January 😊
Wonderful! I have mostly joined in the virtual events and listening to Jenny talk there and actually answer our questions has been really valuable. I just saw that one of the local stores that prints patterns has a special this week so am going to have a few more of the Club patterns printed so they're here if I'm inspired!
Your new jeans look amazing - you are really tempting me to attempt that pattern. I love my membership to the Club and although I haven’t made all the patterns, the other benefits just make it really worthwhile. Thank you for your review of the jeans pattern! 😊
@@JanineSewsyour jeans look wonderful and lovely on you! I appreciate your tips and tricks! I look forward to seeing your next pair. I hope to tackle Jeans in the next year. I love your fun label on the back inside waistband! I have a couple of pups so avoiding pet hair is impossible! Happy Thanksgiving!
Those jeans look great! Did you use any of the TDCO method or just went with the instructions included with this pattern? I will be finishing another company's club membership in December and will jump on the Cashmerette train for next year. I agree that their patterns fit me with very minimal adjustment. Thank you for all of your great content.
Thanks, Sandra! I didn't use any TDCO methods, primarily because the measurements that were taken answered the questions that TDCO asks (in my case, how much excess fabric is needed to nicely drape over my stomach and bum). I spent about an hour measuring and double checking before I selected my size but because of the measurements taken (crotch measurement, waist, natural waist, waist sitting, waistband location, hip, hip sitting) I felt pretty confident that there would be enough fabric to cover without pulling. One thing that was different was knowing exactly where my waistband was going to sit and how much rise was in the pants. I knew how high the rise was from the crotch measurement, and an elastic was placed at exactly where the waistband would sit. Let me know if you want more details!
I can see why you are proud of these jeans! They look great and you looks great in them!
Thank you! I've picked up fabric for another pair 😊
I have this pattern. This is the nudge I need to make a pair. I love your channel. You are talking directly to me and where I am at in life.
Thanks so much ❤️ I think a lot of us are at this stage in life but social media and marketers tend to forget about us. So we will just keep talking!

Thanks so much! 😊 It's not something that I endeavoured to sew (was never on my list) and if I was never to make another pair, I learned a lot.
So, so excited for you! How great you have a terrific-fitting pair of jeans! They look great.
Thank you!
Wow, Janine. These look terrific!

Thanks for watching, Barbara! It's good to know that Cashmerette is consistent in their pants patterns.
