    I’m blown away by the design, power, and beauty of this rarely mentioned aircraft. Just superb.

    The "hot and high" version of all Cheyennes. Beautiful, thanks

    I am no expert on the mechanics of this machine, but know they are d rated too 1000hp, so I would imagine that is what you get out of them. Kind of seems like a shame that you are only using 70 percent. It makes for a long life engine though. The owner and the mechanic are the experts on the details of this bird. I am just lucky and blessed to sit in the right seat. (:
    I do like that one can go 400 and get to a height of flight level 410...makes for a quick trip.

    Thx 4 that. I've always wondered that. The Piaggio Avanti II has about the same weights with engines thermodynamically rated at 1630 shp and flat rated at 850 shp each, 85% the power of the Cheyenne 400! I think the Avanti II is derated the same way. Even though the Avanti II can cruise faster, the Cheyenne 400 seems 2 have a better take off n climb performance. Thx 4 the info.

    @lolman5921 The Cheyenne 400LS is the king of short field takeoff and landing distances. It can be stopped in under 1000 feet.

    It will excellerate extremely quick to tire rotation....it will get to altitude (up to 41000) in no time! many times ATC is shocked when they ask us to quickly get to altitude...they don't expect to see us there so quickly....very smooth aircraft...will land about as quick as take off too!

      how far can you cruise fully fueled? i read that they can travel 2610 miles meaning you could fly it from san francisco to honolulu and not have to worry about running out of gas over the pacific

    @Lettenbichler Thats not the master alarm. Thats the radar altimeter which was set from the previous landing.

    @B757ak I agreed. before landing checklist is an optional....until "no gear" will be 4 seconds AFTER landing

      "No Deer", it is a real bitch to hit a stupid deer on the runway.

    Ok thx, I've always wondered this. I have heard it's derated to 1000 shp rather than flat rated to 1000 shp. It still has around the power/weight ratio as a Saab 2000 though, which goes from 0-180 km/h in about 13 secs! Probably the rotation speed of the Cheyenne. It sounds similar 2 the Jetstream 41 but the Jetstream in continuously rated at around 1650 shp.

      Arent Jetstreams slow though

    I prefer the cheyenne ii for it's takeoff and landing distances. At least in FSX I do :P

    @seekbowhunter Hi, do you have any more videos of the 400ls? If you do please upload, its the best turboprop.

    Can this aircraft produce 1650 shp each engine but flat rated at 1000 shp or is 1000 shp the maximum it can produce each engine? Thx.

    "No deer" It is a real bitch to hit a deer with your airplane! A friend of mine hit a deer with his airplane while landing.

    Nice plane, how is the parts situation for the 400? Look away from the 331-14. Any problems, long deliverytime geting new "Piper" parts? Sure like the 400 and a pretty nice video you got here.

  • @seekbowhunter
    @seekbowhunter  14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    no it is flat rated to 1000....it could go 1650
    otherwise.

    Nice video! I've got a few Jetstream 41 flight videos that I've had for years n I often pretend that they're Cheyenne 400 videos cause of engine similarity cause I didn't have any Cheyenne videos. This video is even more similar 2 a Jetstream 41 one due 2 both aircraft having 5 blade props. Can this aircraft still produce 1650 shp 4 take off even though it's flat rated at 1000 shp? Thx, great video.

  • @muz06
    @muz06 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok, does this mean if u have the power levers set to maximum, it will produce 1650 shp each engine?

    where do ya find this old bird??

  • @muz06
    @muz06 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's possible that it might produce 1650 hp 4 a short tjime. Can u tell me what the take off feels like? I'd love 2 know, thx. I've always wanted 2 fly in 1 of these.

  • @fliteshare

    That isn't a light.
    It is a so called "flag" on the radar altitude indicator. Flagging the radar is turned OFF and thus giving useless (false) information.
