    It's great that you're showing love to current Alice. Jerry is a riff machine. Is it safe to say that the "Died" riff is overlooked?

      Overlooked yes but somewhat understandbly so, because of not being on a proper record

      Dinosaurs is the album that made me an AIC fanatic. I've known them since 92 when I first heard Angry Chair and got their albums but I was more into heavier stuff back then. The new albums to me are gold

      I like AIC old bass lines much more. While Mike Inez' bass lines are way smoother I think they are less recognizable than Starr's. I mean Real Thing is also basically a bass-line riff. Would is also heavily influenced by a cool bass line. Bleed the freak has also very nice parts in the bass. I think Mike Inez ideas were much more unique. New stuff I hear always the bass follows the guitar parts most of the time. Or maybe also Jerry Cantrell's taste changed over time?

    I appreciate how much attention you put into making sure certain strings either do or don’t ring out just to make it that much more accurate. I’m super ocd about it myself and it’s one of the first things I nit-pick when I watch a cover of something lol

    • @the92project
      @the92project  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot for that, although on this video I have a few mistakes😂. Some really bad lol. It's difficult to do this stuff on one take but that's the challenge. Plus I bet if we could hear an isolated live track by Jerry we would hear more than a few little thingies here and there that sound abrasive lol. Perfect can be sterile too😁

      @@the92project Man I didn't get hard into Alice in Chains hard until my sophomore year of high school in 98. Became my obsession, my identity, my favorite band of all time. Loved all of Jerry's solo stuff too. Finally got tickets to see atleast Jerry solo in 2002 with nickelback at hard live in Orlando. Saw him with William shortly after Layne died and it was great but devastating knowing I'd never see Alice in chains live. Fast-forward 2010. Alice in Chains were back, 3rd row Constitution Hall Washington DC, first time seeing Alice in chains and first song they played was all secrets known. It was amazing and an amazing night.

      @@the92project Yup. The "No Layne/No Alice" club is a bit extreme.

    • @the92project
      @the92project  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is. Actually I quit all the Facebook pages that supposedly are about Alice In Chains. They are all mostly about Layne, and they rarely support the band TODAY. You know what's really weird though? In the 90s Layne wasn't even "that" popular, proof is that the Grammys didn't even mention him when he died. The whole Layne cult happened more recently. It happens with a lot of dead musicians that become bigger dead than they were alive.

    • @davidleewrath6919
      @davidleewrath6919 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@the92project Yeah. And they post on current Alice videos what I mentioned before. There's a few girls that post things like Layne was their soulmate/them being able to save him/his friends didn't care or shit like that. But dude, he had 13 stints in rehab and 3 overdoses before the drugs finally caught up with him. They got people outside the band to check on him because he wouldn't give them the time of day. That's very unfair to them.

    • @davidleewrath6919

      @@the92project The only way to get him off the junk would've been putting him in a coma to avoid withdrawal and shipping him to the middle of fucking nowhere with nothing but food. Did he want to die? That's my question. He was put on suicide watch after Demri died, but he lasted +5 years more on drugs and videogames. Maybe he finally took a chance and commited suicide after he told Mike Demri had visited him... who the fuck knows. A terrible loss, no doubt. And a terrible drug.
