Where do you get a hold of MREs I'd like to try some myself.
Ash, the fishy smell comes from the heat tabs (Hexamine, sold as Esbit tabs commercially. The active chemical is a precursor to RDX explosive which is why you hear about troops using bits of plastic explosive to heat their dinners). Happy to see you're doing the MRE reviews again.

5:40 Italians definitely drink coffee with lots of milk in the morning, not an espresso. Usually a caffè latte or a cappuccino.
I've only ever had the USA MREs, they are on a whole other level in Italy.
Very fun to see the taste test of those mre's, makes me wish I could try it myself, but honestly most of looks fine but some if it not for me
The breakfast was minimal to be kind!

Got to honest with you. That ration looked pretty ordinary. Bulky, heavy and minimal.
No pizza or spaghetti bolognese....It's obviously NOT real Italian 🤪 Thanks for sharing Ash and take care mate.
