Talking about the guy asking for coins for the ferry, you said "This guy's got a very curt approach on life." But he's not alive at all. "I won't need them where I'm going." He's depicted as a pair of floating eyes. He needs coins, specifically two coins, for the ferry. This is all allusion to the Greek belief of Charon and the ferry across the river Styx. The dead would be placed with a coin over each eye to pay Charon for passage to the afterlife.
just watching this now as I am considering to buy the game and it is so interesting to watch you all play! I love the format and the editing, just wish it was longer! It's so easy to follow through! Great job guys, please make more!
Rodney and Pep, it's a long time since I started watching your amazing videos! You have grown up so much since you started. I'm really proud. Keep up with the awesome stuff. Van't wait for your next video! ;)
Hahaha.. the bloopers I must say. Awesome as always. I'm eager to try this game with my nephew and others. Have a great time watching you guys play. :D I like the fact that the game has an "advanced" side with a few more options. :D
Ryan is fast becoming one of my favourite designers, looks like another gem. Can't arrive fast enough! Thanks for this, seems you two had some fun with this one. :)
That was unexpected. Pep had so many resources (gems etc.) and more team members and overall it felt he was in the lead, but he lost and it wasnt even that close score wise. Cool game. Im thinking about buying it, as i dont have any paragraph driven game in my collection.
Rodney - Question about the game. If you were passing over a threat space and you did NOT have the power to defeat the bandit, what happens then. Is your movement done, or can you switchback and head the other direction (as I am assuming you can't pass through the threat space if you fail). Thanks!
Glad you're enjoying the videos Trevor :). We're doing the rules right. It replenishes after buying one. You can spend a food optionally, to replenish all of them (as a way of getting a quick batch of new choices).
Hey guys, noticed a small error (wouldn't change any outcomes). I believe you can only switch out party members when you actually depart town, but Pep swapped his pet for his green adventurer ("Ryan") immediately at the end of the last episode. So Ryan's sword wouldn't help yet when Pep initially goes to the Town Hall; thankfully, since Rodney rolled a 1 and Pep fought dishonorably (plus had a remaining heart), this wouldn't have mattered. This also means that when Pep goes to Town Hall again (he still hasn't left Town), fights honorably, and you both roll fives, he *would* have lost (ties go to the defender) except he could have spend his remaining heart, so again, crisis averted!
@@WatchItPlayed 12:55 (Episode 3, Pep buys Ryan) 5:24 (Episode 4, Pep duels at Town Hall for first time and is ironically correct that he has zero swords) 12:08 (Episode 4, Pep duels at Town Hall for the second time) Hope this helps!
Glad you liked this series :) You can find all the games we've featured by checking our playlists, and yep, Mice and Mystics was one we did: th-cam.com/play/PLHvfN_pNBj_H_vr4_G1I9i8fu6tkaaklw.html
Hey Nita, thanks for the interest and sorry to hear Risk is giving you trouble. never fun when a rule book makes things challenging. I don't think Risk is one that we're likely to cover, so I can't help with that one, but hopefully some of our other videos will help you with future games!
What a fun game. When my wife and I played the first time, she got her camps out and the game ended quickly. She crushed me, just like Rodney crushed Pep.

I love the bloopers so much!
We hoped people might get a chuckle :)
"I think I just played better than you" was what got me.
Amanda Panda I don't know how the episode even got made with all of those! 😂
Amanda Panda same 😂

Very glad you enjoyed - thanks for the kind comment!
the outtakes are hilarious!
They got a little ridiculous :)
Thank you so much Watch It Played, those outtakes made my day, and made me smile. Which is great cause yesterday was really rough. :)

Thanks for the kind words Flavio - glad you've enoying the growth of the show!
"Bestow upon me the letter of your destiny." 😂 I'll have to remember that line for when I get to play this game 😂😂
Quite the dramatic flourish :)
100% for the outtakes. Those were hilarious!! And more Pep!
You shall have it/him!
Watch It Played Yay!! Your guys chemistry is great!!

And a few extra modes to play to provide variation - glad you enjoyed!
Liked immediately for how much fun Rodney had saying bodybagbilly!
That's a fun name!

Enjoyed watching, may need to pick this up. I hope it is on sale at Origins next week.
Glad you had fun playing along with us Tony!

If you fail a threat roll, your turn immediately ends.
Thanks Rodney!
Love your videos! Saloon rule query: I believe the adventures do not get replenished at all until a food is spent?
Glad you're enjoying the videos Trevor :). We're doing the rules right. It replenishes after buying one. You can spend a food optionally, to replenish all of them (as a way of getting a quick batch of new choices).
Hey do either of your guys have a personal "top games" list. I'd be interested to see what you love!
I talk a bit about that here: th-cam.com/video/p0Lv8LHadMc/w-d-xo.html&t=10m55s
I think it's fine the way you wave, Pep. But you could make a point of inventing a new wave each episode :D
No. Please no.
Thank you so much, guys. I've been watching you play this for weeks until I finally got a chance to play my copy last night. So excited.
Yay - hope you have a great time adventuring too!

I shot this long enough ago that I'd need a time stamp to double check.

@@jeremyrgill6837 Ah yes, very good catch - and your interpretation of the rules is correct. Sneaky Pep!
Just preordered my copy ;)

Could you please do a "how to play classic game of Risk" when you get a chance, I got it as a gift but the rule book just gives me headaches :(
Hey Nita, thanks for the interest and sorry to hear Risk is giving you trouble. never fun when a rule book makes things challenging. I don't think Risk is one that we're likely to cover, so I can't help with that one, but hopefully some of our other videos will help you with future games!
Hey Rodney, are you planing a playtrough for this war of mine?
Hey, thanks for the interest. I avoid pre-announcing games we are going to cover in case my schedule changes (I don't like to disappoint).
Sweet that would be awsome!! It makes things a lot easier if you guys show us how to play!!
I'm curious what Pep's big move on his next turn was going to be.
Adventuring, while passing a treasure to get the 5 points from it, and then either completing a route for 9 points or grabbing an artifact.
What a fun game. When my wife and I played the first time, she got her camps out and the game ended quickly. She crushed me, just like Rodney crushed Pep.
I got some good momentum going at the end!
it must be tough to work with pep :')
Ha - it's always interesting!
