Literally just said I needed this. I relaxed my hair this weekend and this is exactly why I went natural originally. I find relaxed hair more manageable, but if I have to go through all the work for natural hair, why not do it for a style I truly want? 🥰
Absolutely agree! Relaxed & natural both take up time so I'd rather take my time to have silky long hair instead of twists & braids which I don't even like those styles🤷🏽♀️
April, your hair is so pretty. I "listen" to my hair. If I comb my hair and can "hear" crunching, then I know I need to moisturize. When I have breakage then I know I need to add some protein. I use aphogee leave in conditioner.
@@TaeKat hey sis what do you mean by protein / balance. Usually I will use the design essentials vitamin restore treatment 1 weekend, then the next I would use the ultra moisturizing mask. Is that what you mean?
The amount of videos ive watch and comments i left with questions (no responses) with other relaxed channels ,i am so happy i found you and this video, this was very much needed. I just had to subscribe, your very informative not just this video but each and every video ive seen thus far.
Very informative! I got a touch-up today. I always bring Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor and Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer with me to the salon when it’s time for a touch-up for the exact reasons that you mentioned. Keeping the protein and moisture levels of my hair balanced definitely makes a difference.
Omg thank you SO much for this! I just recently relaxed my hair but I was trying to figure out what it is that my hair actually needs and what type of routine I should have. I've watched so many youtube videos and no one ever explains what they're doing and why they are doing it in a clear and simple manner. You my friend-girl, you have mastered that! I was getting so confused about everything. Its like you took it back to the basics. I love you for that. I wish you all the abundance that the Universe, that life has to offer. Please give me more of this lord knows I need it lol. Can you show us you flat iron your hair? Shit wash, flat iron all that sis! Lol
First off u are gorgeous, them cheekbones laaawd!! 2ndly this video is very helpful, I’m a naturalist afer this week, but I’m about to relax it, so I needed to know about this protein.
I’m trying to build one because it seems I’ve forgotten how to care for my hair. Thank you for sharing these tips. I picked up the Aphgee treatment and will try it.
This video was so helpful, thank you for all the information! I recently had my hair texlaxed and I want to know when should I do a protein treatment? Within the first week? The next day? Or do I need to wait 6-8 weeks from when I first got my hair texlaxed to do a protein treatment? Thanks!
I get a moisturizing protein treatment during my service at the salon after my relaxer. My 1st wash day after my relaxer I'll do an Olaplex treatment and use a moisturizing deep conditioner.
You are beautiful and your hair is so beautiful, I keep wondering big I can reach that hair goal in future.... Love your hair and thanks for the advise
I really don't know what to do with my relaxed hair. I need to tell my ends but I don't know how much I should cut. And how can i see if I damaged my hair? Your hair looks so beautiful and mine doesn't look the way yours looks. Like it's okay but its NOT a silly and bouncy as your? Any advice? I only use hair grease, and conditioner :( I'm a teen btw And it's hard for me to keep my hair in a bum bc my scalp hurts so bad for years now
I use Aphogee when my hair needs it but I deep condition every wash using Rolland Una. I keep it simple my hair doesn’t like too much. What do you think about the Dyson blow dryer?
I am definitly using too much protein product, every week to 2 week because I was recommended thee shampoo and conditionner... I shall focus on moisture then!
I am currently using Ion's light reconstructor weekly until my hair is stronger. It is very weak in my nape area. I do follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner.
april I love your hair so much😭😭😭 my hair is natural but ive had enough lol which relaxer do you use and how is your hair so shiny? I’m going to a stylist next week please help😫
Great video ! I will soon have a touch up relaxer , what should I do right after ? I have bought this hair protein mayonnaise but everything is a bit blurry for me ... I keep deep conditioning once a week but I don't really know about the aftermath of my relaxer xoxo
Hey April. Please I have a question. What If I'm trying to stretch my relaxer to 12 weeks or longer, would I then do protein treatments then? or still at the 6 to 8 weeks mark like u said? Thanks.
No, if you're stretching and your hair doesn't need the protein treatment then don't do it. Your question is apart of my video tonight! Thanks for watching ❤
@@AprilSunnyBeauty Thanks 4 the reply. For clarification, so If Im stretching my relaxer to more than 12 weeks, and I see that I need a protein treatment because hair is shedding..should I get the treatment when I eventually relax my hair or at 6- 8 weeks? Thanks.
I find that I need protein treatments after heat styling. I blow dry more often in winter . I like the Tropic Isle living protein conditioner. For moisture I use a rosewater/aloe juice mist and a JBCO/Tea Tree oil combo for my hair and scalp.
I can't get over how stunning you look!

Thank you 🥰! Thank for watching and sharing!!
Try a protein/ moisture balanced regimen so you don’t have to wait for breakage. Because then its already too late

😃 “ WELL SAID! ”
Do you do your protein treatment before or after the week of getting relaxed ?
I get a moisturizing protein treatment during my service at the salon after my relaxer. My 1st wash day after my relaxer I'll do an Olaplex treatment and use a moisturizing deep conditioner.
Thanks for the super informative video! You look gorgeous! May I ask what foundation you use? So pretty!
I'm both natural and relaxed I love my hair both ways but I also love your hair

Yep at 3:16 I found myself leaning to the right trying to avoid the sunlight. :D
Well done!! What moisturizing deep conditioners do you recommend?

i would also recommend to trim to where most of your ends are the same length and start from there
also focus a lot of leave in conditioner on ur ends and follow with an oil to seal it in as the ends of the hair and the weakest
For my moisture treatment I use a deep conditioner and an oil that contains soy protein
Is that right?
I love your channel your so informative.
Thank you for being apart of my channel!💞

It looks like it would work but idk😁

Do the loc/lco method too. That will help. Then deep condition 1x a week
Great tips 👍🏾

Hi! I was wondering if sunlight counts as heat damage? Because it's always hot here lol. Would protein need to be used more often?
Yes sun can cause a little heat damage if your in the sun all day. Up your moisture and use products with SPF and/or heat protection.
