Next to the national anthem, this is probably the most difficult song for a singer. Great job by her and the musicians. Really captured the essence of this great song.
Many people call it the National Anthem because "The Star Spangled Banner" sounds pretty condescending. Either way, you have to admit it's very difficult to sing.

With my mom yelling to turn it down. 🙆🏻♀️😊 but anyway This is the first cover that gets closest to the original. Loved it 🖤💥💥💥 all the notes at the right time make the difference
lol I think I watched like 30+ covers searching for the ultimate cover of this song. This is the first cover that I watched from this channel and they didn't disappoint me. I will never watch or look for another cover again because this is absolutely the closest and the only one that can be compared with Clare's studio version. Even the back-up singers of Pink Floyd from any DSotM concert since the '70s can't even beat this.
OK, so now you really got me! My favorite song of all time, not just by Pink Floyd, but by anyone. Nuts.....goosebumps all over! How incredibly well done and a world class performance!!! Lilian knocked it right out of the park.....to climb right into that deep, emotional pit requires energy and stamina and boy, has she got it!!! BRAVO and a standing ovation to all of you!!! ~Jackie
Absolutely amazing performance by all, but in particular by the vocalist, Lilian Ximenes. There are many who have attempted to sing this song but fell far short of doing it justice. While IMO no one will ever equal Clare Torry's original recording, this is as close as I have heard anyone come to doing so. Bravo!
...WELL, I have no words to explain how I feel with your performance. Excellent!!! Excellent!!! I look every month who can sing this song. You, You, You, but I don't know your name, what a pity! Thanks, My ears thank you forever! I saw now, sorry. Lilian Ximenes you are BEAUTIFUL!!!
Nothing beats the original performance by Claire Torry. Meanwhile I have heard a lot of interpretations and none of them was so good as this one. I am a fan!
People all over the world will be listening to this song till the end of time. I still get the chills up and down my spine even after 50 years of hearing it. Thank you. ❤
As a man who was amazed by Clare Torry's version back when it first came out, this...Right here... is THE best cover I've ever heard and I don't think it can be done better.
You guys should be proud of yourselves for two reasons. One, for being Pink Floyd fans, and Two, for delivering the best cover version of this song to date.
@@lawabidingcitizen5153 Truth is one sided. Just keep bringing up YOUR arguments and they will continue to be shut down. Might as well just not reply, probably the smartest thing to do on your part. My god, you arrogant people.....
Honestly, I've heard a dozen covers of this song and never heard anyone come close to matching Clare Torry. Until now! I was beginning to think it couldn't be done. Very well done!
Uau, brasileiros fazendo provavelmente o melhor cover desta musica!!!!
Felicitaciones ✌️✌️🇨🇱.
This is the part where I walk up to the tip jar and put 500 dollars in, you know to get things going. By far the best version I have heard vocally since Care Torry's superb performance. Even the sound effects were on point. Excellent job.
I don't mean to nit pick but the piano wasn't perfect, There was nowhere near enough sustain used, and while her voice is great on the high parts, she lacks any depth at the lower end and is quite sharp.... some of her mid range parts are very nasal... Kudos though, better than most people could ever do :)
Rusticmonkey I think the critique is a little douchey...lol C'mon...this is TH-cam and she basically nailed it note for note. Anyone else I've heard try to cover this song does not come remotely close to nailing it note for note. Props!
Rusticmonkey "I don't mean to nitpick, but..." followed by a heap of pedantic nitpicking. Why, because this is only a 99.814% match to the actual album cut (which Pink Floyd themselves don't even reproduce in concert, btw)? Watch the video of Clare Torry singing it live... she sounds less like herself than this woman does! Who was it that said everything before the "but" is meaningless?
It's because there were like 3 versions of the song and Allan Parsons had to splice them and recompile all to make it best as a whole. I think she didn't care enough to follow the final outcome and remade the performance. Would still prefer listening to this than her live performance though.
And you're right. No singer in Dream Theater and even Pink Floyd/Roger Waters have done justice to the song in their live concerts. Whenever I watch their videos in its complete footage, it was so cringy that I had to skip it.
so beautiful. The bass and piano excellent, the singers vibration and focus is so present and powerful. I appreciate this version of the recording. If a future experience ever were to occur in which the singer was present to record this again, I would be so estatic to hear her take a risk to sing outside her safe vocal range to reach the high notes and would be so delighted to hear that recording. I don't care if she actually can reach them, but to hear her attempt them would delight my spirit.
Took almost 50 years but we found someone who can come close to what Clare Torey did that very early morning.
You are correct sir!

Generally the right notes at the right time is pretty important
A very good cover, specialy Lilian!
me too!!
Thank you for watching Dirk
lol I think I watched like 30+ covers searching for the ultimate cover of this song.
Lilian, já ouvi vários covers cantando esta musica ,mas você me impressionou, que show.
🙏🏻😘❤️
Speechless.... another goal!, awesome!!!!!
Thanks my friend
This song is a masterpiece , and this woman played brilliantly
Her name is Lilian Ximenes, and I want to have her baby.
🙏🏻❤️🥰
@@burtpanzer ❤️
@@LilianXimenes I hadn't thought you would ever see that, but thank you...
@@LilianXimenes very talented
One of the best sounds in music is a woman's voice ❤
Love the red-head, her voice is amazing!!!
+David B She has a fantastic voice.
@Appoddigare lilian ximenes
If there were a word more perfect to describe this than perfect I would use it, but I guess the best I can say is PERFECT!
She started hollerin' when my meds kicked in with a bang ,thank you for helping me attain cosmic euphoric greatness!😮
Freaking nailed it - every part, and unbelievable vocals - best I've heard, equals Clare.
~Jackie
🙏🏻😘❤️
DAM! The fact that this doesn't have a million views is criminal!
Ive been looking everywhere for a woman who can carry these vocals!!
Lilian has a fantastic voice.
She really nails it, I love That they also added in the “if you hear this whispering” from the original
I always thought it was "I heard somebody whispering that time"....
It’s a girl saying I never said I was frightened of dying
Lilian, the new Clare 💕💕✨✨🙏🙏
Absolutely amazing performance by all, but in particular by the vocalist, Lilian Ximenes. There are many who have attempted to sing this song but fell far short of doing it justice. While IMO no one will ever equal Clare Torry's original recording, this is as close as I have heard anyone come to doing so.
Bravo!
🙏🏻😘❤️
...WELL, I have no words to explain how I feel with your performance. Excellent!!! Excellent!!! I look every month who can sing this song. You, You, You, but I don't know your name, what a pity! Thanks, My ears thank you forever! I saw now, sorry. Lilian Ximenes you are BEAUTIFUL!!!
❤️🙏🏻😘
Nothing beats the original performance by Claire Torry. Meanwhile I have heard a lot of interpretations and none of them was so good as this one. I am a fan!
best ever cover of anything
Impressionante!
Obrigada 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
People all over the world will be listening to this song till the end of time. I still get the chills up and down my spine even after 50 years of hearing it. Thank you. ❤
I never thought a cover could be done this well to great gig. but you all proved me wrong. every aspect of it was phenomenal.
Good Lord, what a performance. That made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Well done everyone, especially the lady singing.
🙏🏻😘❤️
As a man who was amazed by Clare Torry's version back when it first came out, this...Right here... is THE best cover I've ever heard and I don't think it can be done better.
Oh my God, she's amazing... Congratulations, guys! I never heard a cover like this before..
just watched again. not sure anyone can ever beat that cover...
You guys should be proud of yourselves for two reasons. One, for being Pink Floyd fans, and Two, for delivering the best cover version of this song to date.
Why only 170.000? Maybe every week ım watching this amazing performance and this video is really deserves a billion views
Chills, chills, chills
0:17 I always wonder how to make that psychedelic sound.
It's a steel guitar dummy, put the pipe down.

Honestly, I've heard a dozen covers of this song and never heard anyone come close to matching Clare Torry. Until now! I was beginning to think it couldn't be done. Very well done!
Uau, brasileiros fazendo provavelmente o melhor cover desta musica!!!!
🙏🏻😘❤️
This is the part where I walk up to the tip jar and put 500 dollars in, you know to get things going. By far the best version I have heard vocally since Care Torry's superb performance. Even the sound effects were on point. Excellent job.
As amazing this sounds, just imagine witnessing Clare Torry in the studio recording this song. Goosebumps!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
She nailed it!
they are all amazing, but she truly steals the show.
I come to comment on this video, and omg HER VOICE ITS BEAUTIFUL LIKE THIS SONG!!! its the best song
piano, bass drums PERFECT
I don't mean to nit pick but the piano wasn't perfect, There was nowhere near enough sustain used, and while her voice is great on the high parts, she lacks any depth at the lower end and is quite sharp.... some of her mid range parts are very nasal... Kudos though, better than most people could ever do :)
Rusticmonkey I think the critique is a little douchey...lol C'mon...this is TH-cam and she basically nailed it note for note. Anyone else I've heard try to cover this song does not come remotely close to nailing it note for note. Props!
Rusticmonkey
"I don't mean to nitpick, but..." followed by a heap of pedantic nitpicking.
THIS is a COVER???? I'd swear it was the original. Vocals, keyboards, bass, slide, everything. Phenomenal.
Best cover of "The Great Gig in the Sky" I have ever heard.....BRAVO.
what the hell!!!! oh girld you have one of the greatest voices in this world..just amazing...and you have a great band too
