Hi as a resident of Anglesey, I know there is a reason regarding overnight camping. The island has had a huge issue with the worst type of traveller. Alot of rubbish, damage. Our island is beautiful and we wish to keep it that way. Holiday makers are always welcome
The "worst type of traveller" can in fact be the holiday makers! Scotland has had a similar problem since the end of lockdown and everyone and his brother building a campervan! They've reported rubbish, damage, loos emptied in hedgerows, waste water released into the street and no end of problems. Its the obvious, "it's easier for me to dump it than take it to the tip" brigade. Theyve come down a lot on wild camping since.
Borre Da , a lot of difference between overnight camping and overnight parking. As a holiday maker, I do park my van overnight and pay for that privilege . I don't understand the problem with me sleeping in the bed in my van at night. Nothing has ever been said if I sleep in my van during the day then continue driving through every village at night.
I have lived in Wales most of my life. I have never known it to be this difficult to travel around my own country, both in terms of affordability and practicalities. When I was a child my father had an old van that we lived in for years due to circumstances. We would travel up down and around wales with the only costs being petrol and food. I'm sure it was a harsh life for my parents, but us children had a great time travelling and we were welcomed everywhere we went, especially churches, pubs and even the traveller communities welcomed us and helped us out a bit. It's not like that anymore. I'm sad my kids will never know that kind of freedom.
It seems to me the answer to the issue of disposal of grey and black waste from moterhomes and campervans is no different from the issue with effluent from any domestic property, which probably contains more chemicals than any mobile home; and that is to provide simple drive-over layby sized service aires connected to the towns main sewer system in every town and larger village. Town sewers and water mains generally run beneath main roads so access to them is not too difficult or expensive, and over many years of use would workout massively cheaper than the annual costs of cleaning up the mess left in many of the beauty spots around the countryside. Many towns have derelict land where buildings have been demolished but beneath the surface the site is still connected to the town sewers. With some work around access provision and the connections being adapted to take aire type drive-over grids, the cost of establishing suitable waste provision would be minimal, and should some additional landscaping be provided, the area could be a tidy feature in any town. If such aires were provided, both the countryside and the towns would benifit tremendously. Other sites like out of town shopping complexes with huge carparking areas could also be made to provide similar service aires as part of the development proposals. The costs would be minimal as they will be establishing connections to the main sewers, and the draw of such facilities will naturally attract passing motorhome users to their shopping offer. Society needs to adapt to modern trends and to seek out solutions to issues that arise from changing habits, and people only need to look at our European neighbours and see how they've been dealing with the issue of motorhome service areas for decade's to see what needs to be done. People shouldn't rage at the dark when they could light a candle and see the way forward.
All of your videos are wonderfully filmed and edited. This one is absolutely amazing!! Just beautiful. I'm including sound editing. A real treat watching this on my Sunday morning. Thank you both!
Have I mentioned before how much I love Lou's brain to see things? The "crunch" sound transition, waterfall going backwards... Magnificent. At this rate, Emily sees herself as a soon to bee Cinnamon Roll, that is why she is rolling the wrinkles out. Another fascinating video. And another spell bound dance moves. ¡¡Pura Vida!!
I totally totally agree with you about the campsites. We are here in Wales for 3 weeks now. I am utterly shocked at the expense both of food and campsites. Granted some are excellent but boy are they expensive.
That's a universal problem and is a huge threat to the experience it looks to me that there's a conspiracy to kill the goose that lays the golden egg. Here in the States corporations are buyimg up campgrounds and charging obscene fees.
I left Anglesey in 1973 and returned in the mid 90’s for a few years. I then moved back to the West Midlands until 2016 when I hit 60. It’s the best thing I did. It was hiraeth (longing) for Anglesey and to be able to speak my native tongue everyday that made me return. Which I missed whilst I lived in England
Have been dipping in and out of your channel for a while, I have subscribed, there are so many motorhome/camper van channels about,we even have one(very small)but your channel is up there.starting to get very addicted, well done you two,and Joan too.see you on the next one girls.😊
Hiya Emily Louise Joanie and AJ ive nearly caught up now as i started from the beginning and i must say ive loved watching you and i must include Summer as well .....Love your Fun Facts and 2 minute tour of sites Emily and Louise love your drone footage and pictures thy really good ..... Find your videos full of interesting things about all the wonderful places you have been from the cold to the hot weather ..... Take Care everyone.....😊😊😊🐶
Love Anglesey and Wales, plan a trot up. That big old hill this summer, definitely going to puffin island too, thank you for sharing your adventures with us
Although I can imagine the reasons for closing overnight park-ups on such an island those campsite prices are absolutely ridiculous. If they are going to close up every park up they'd better do the decent thing and set up decent and reasonable priced alternatives.
Does anywhere else in UK set up decent and reasonable priced alternatives to overnight parking? Not that I know of. Scarborough council did exactly the same, even though the car parks are completely empty over night. Did they provide an alternative? , NO , apparently there are plenty of run down B&B's available, even though you have a house on wheels. The question still remains, where do you park your van overnight while you are in that run down B&B.
@@only-vans in France usually the camping municipale usually offers a decent alternative. In the UK I think mainly the farm sites are more affordable? Here in the Netherlands all wild camping is forbidden, but some towns still offer (camper)van parking and there are some free or very cheap places offered on private land. There are websites and apps to find them.
There is one regulation/law in Germany I'm really happy about (as our camper is a good deal larger than a van): If it's not explicitly forbidden - which it rarely is - you can park your camper or van anywhere overnight (for ONE night only) just like any "normal" car to restore your fitness to drive as long as you don't exhibit "camping behaviour". Stay in your camper, don't put chairs, etc. outside - and don't litter of course - and all is well. I find this really helpful if you're too tired to keep on driving or looking for a camp site.
Have to say that Wales is a beautiful place to be, you said very Cornwall ish, but think its more lake district ish. But then any place rugged, remote and scenic, is beautiful. Great wildlife and tour video girls, always a pleasure to watch.
You 2 are as mad as a box of frogs, Lou, love your dry sense of humour and awesome camera work, Emily, you are the frogs inside the box, love the dances :) together the best youtube team out there, keep it real guys, from Russia with love (I live and work here but buying a van to convert, u have inspired a 57 year old Brit.
Loved those squirrels,Owls,Puffins. The screnery is just lovely. It’s good to see where my Grandparents came from in the early 1900. To Australia. They were farmers & shop keepers. Came out to Australia for a better life, & yes they got it .Thank you keep happy Elaine from Queensland,Australia.
Yeah no grey squirrels on Anglesey so the red ones have it all to themselves! I'm a local wild camper as in hiking wild camper and that's taken a hit since Covid too, just too many staycationers taking pastimes which used to go largely unnoticed, and all of a sudden making them a major issue throughout the park, I remember around Snowdon a security firm was even hired to patrol around the foot of Snowdon for the two busiest summers, it's a real shame and a lot of damage has been done, even to wild camp in the mountains you have to be extra vigilant now and camp well off the beaten path, and be in and out like a ninja. When I was a kid growing up in North Wales in the 80's we used to camp all over the place and it really wasn't an issue at all, but these days it's completely different.
I have to agree, Snowdonia is just exquisite and although I agree that no photos really do it justice I think you’ve done a pretty smashing job - great video!
You did very well with the puffins. I lived for years in Alaska where there a lot of them but not once did I achieve the quality of shots you showed. (If I may be allowed one double entente, your equipment is bigger than mine. Sorry!). As for the squirrels, that was fantastic. I walked the south coast on Anglesey last Autumn and saw, count-em, one single red squirrel and then only fleetingly. Keep up the great work!
I loved this vid Beautiful scenery..love the music...beautiful filming xx ❤️ my nana was welsh and this has really evoked a lot of emotion xx one day i hope to get there ❤️
Absolutely wonderful once again ladies.Sad that the park ups were so few. However we all know as motorhomers why they get shut down. Keep on travelling you are the best! XX
Very nice pictures thank you. Anglesey really is a lovely place. Maybe on your next visit to sunny Wales, your challenge could be to learn a few words to impress the locals? Cwmorthin wasn’t too bad Emily. But honestly ladies - and I’m only a Londoner with a bit of Welsh history - when you said Semace I had to wait for “Cemaes” to come up on screen to know where you were - it’s pronounced Kemmice. Easy! Meanwhile, j’espere que tout se passera bien pour le voyage en France.
Never underestimate a proper facial maintenance / restoration, I guess? Cool of you Em showing these ex-navy tricks🤣Fantastic scenery, wildlife and video!!
Darren can't wait to get back and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone keeps talking about. Such a nice place to visit. Thanks for you insightful vlog. Always fun to watch.
Hello from Oregon USA I really enjoy your videos all the wildlife and wonderful places you travel to. I do have to s a y I have never seen canned hotdogs, ours are always fresh and in the refrigerated section in a supermarket . Anyway happy and safe travels until next week.
Aaahhhh the Moelwyns. Lovely place, good climbing and.... if you are ever there again and want an adventure have a look at 'Go Below'. You explore the mines starting from up at the lake you walked to.
Let me give you a tip if you get seasick, I used to work off shore in the gulf and had to ride a boat....IT WAS BAD!!!!! If you fell ill lie down and you will feel just fine, So simple but it works!
You need to download pitchup there is a very clean sight just off the A55 in Anglesea £15 a night clean showers Electric hook up water and empty your wast 17:07
Loving your films, love the red squirrels and puffins. I assume you’ve left Wales now but the beaches on the north east coast are stunning. For me though the jewel in the crown is Portmerion, such a surprise when you first see it. Maybe next time! Kind regards to you both for your great footage and cheerfulness, it’s really heart warming.
Omg the owl! Thank you so much for being honest about it. I really want to go in our van and I don’t want to be disappointed- it’s been a long time since I was in my homeland. So I’m glad to know there are campsites. I LOVE the 2 minute tours, Emily xx

Hi great video ladies and really interesting......even the tech bit which always goes over my head😂 ! I watch a few of van life videos and I've always wondered what is with the whole showing making coffee in the morning .......can u help ?🤔 Thanks again ladies x
Another great video. Stellar videography! Loved the effects. The waterfall reverse to normal to zoom out was excellent but my favorite was the screaming onion. That was so funny!
Thanks for showing off Anglesey in such a lovely way. As a local we forgot sometimes how special it is. You could of parked outside our house, we would of loved to accommodate you for free. 👍👍
Hi Emily, late on parade this week - apologies. Does that roller thingy actually work? Thumbs up on the hoodies, any more thoughts about merch? Filming this week was exceptional, she’s a clever girl. Snowdonia, slate quarry, waterfall, all brilliant. Loved your face when the chippy door opened! Thought the bell was clever but a bit….crap. Liked the comedy onion and more ‘Hot diggety dog’ dancing…..stay safe girls, regards Reg.
Just seen my dog running about on my lawn in some of your drone footage of Cemaes Bay (pronounced kem-eyes by the way 😉). Glad you enjoyed my beautiful village and the rest of the island 😊
The stonework of the house or ruins in the quarry looked completely new. The walls were so straight and the stone it was build of also looked new. Fascinating🤔. Them builders must've been expert stonehouse builders. Wales is very beautiful💕
OMG!! 😂❤ Hot Dogs in a can. Lol I have never seen them before. Excellent video as usual. You never let me down. The scenery is stunning. I’m glad you seen your red squirrels. I remember the video where you went looking for them and wasn’t very successful. Thanks so much for sharing this. Stay safe. See you next Sunday.
here on Ynys Mon we have had enough of the waste left by camper vans , parking overnight where the signs clearly state that it is prohibited and leaving us to clean up their mess.
That is not fair at all, and agree people should clean up after themselves, a lot of mess is also left by younger people hanging out in car. Ourselves we cleaned up after some only a few weeks back as we knew we would get the blame for it if we didn’t, sometimes it’s not always the vans but the car that come in the evening and leave late
I clean up all the waste wherever we overnight as a thank you. Unfortunately I am getting more overwhelmed with the amount as better weather brings out the weekenders 😢😢😢
Hi guys love the videos I used to go to this spot 40 years back when I used to go fishing, last year I said I wonder if its still there boom I put it on park for Knight now it's very busy I do know a few more spot on the island

Quite agree some people make it worse for all the others and then there is nowhere to park up quietly.

Liked the comedy onion and more ‘Hot diggety dog’ dancing…..stay safe girls, regards Reg.
Thank you for another great blog, I love seeing Lou's photography. She's so good! 😃
Just seen my dog running about on my lawn in some of your drone footage of Cemaes Bay (pronounced kem-eyes by the way 😉). Glad you enjoyed my beautiful village and the rest of the island 😊
Oh wow really, too cute
You both made a valiant attempt at Welsh.
Da iawn!
😀 thanksn
Those stills of the puffins were excellent!!
Thanks
amazing video louise and emily
No way, never seen hot dogs in a can, there are loads over here
Wow the camera lens. Hope to see the puffins soon we are near a good spot in Aberdeenshire
Congratulations Anglesey on the wildlife. Shame about less wild camping but sure the campsites are perfectly adequate. Xx stay safe xx
we needed a giggle & you provided!!! THANK YOU! Amazing wildlife & fab video! bootiful & yes like Cornwall _ loved it!!! xxxx
😀😀😀
I love Wales but have never been to Anglesey. Might just have to now. Loved seeing AJ jump against the wall taking in the view ❤️x
Same in Forestry England car-parks now; no overnight parking
Your videos are such a delight; they are funny, informative, creative and beautifully edited, thank you.
The onion had me cracking up! 🤣 🧅
Spent most of my summer hols in Anglesey as a child…brought back wonderful family memories. Thank you❤
here on Ynys Mon we have had enough of the waste left by camper vans , parking overnight where the signs clearly state that it is prohibited and leaving us to clean up their mess.
@@campervibe we have the offending vans on video and have sent evidence to the council and police
