Make up glitter plastic cannot be produced with chemicals that would irritate the skin or release possible run offs. Food grade glitter must be made in a clean work area in order to prevent bacteria and the such to reach into the containers. So really, the plastic itself probably isn't that different, it's just the production (as initial plastics), the finishing (into shapes), and production area (food grade etc) that are different from the different types.

im not a scientist, but "ingredient" wise, ALL glitters are the same. The only difference between cosmetic grade glitters (Nail art, makeup, and possibly the cake ones) and craft glitters is how its cut and how often the machine/s get steralised at the factory. Cosmetic grade is cut in a circle shape, while craft glitter is cut primarily in hexagon and octagon shapes. The best and only way to tell is with a macro PHONE CAMERA lens, high powered magnifying glass, or a microscope if you have one just laying around. The reason why cosmetic glitters are in a circular shape is because if that glitter gets in your eye, it has a much smaller chance of slicing your eye up. (Which CAN lead to infection and loss of vision and possibly your eye.) With that same reasoning, that's why all the beautygurus that know what they're doing tell you to not go to wal-mart/Michals/any craft store and just buy the random "super fine" glitter there. The glitters that are sold in craft stores usually aren't cosmetic grade and have the potential of harming your eye.

ok, I think the difference between makeup glitter and the other glitters, eyeshadow glitter (technically it's a makeup glitter) is, or should be, cut ROUND. mainly because craft glitters that are hexagonal will or at least could injure your eye when worn. this is why proper eyeshadow glitter should be cut into little circles. It greatly reduces the risk of stabbing yourself in the eye when worn.

It's probably normal glitter in the coffee. They say it's made with food coloring, yet they're probably pretending the sugar is dyed and that's why the glitter is rainbow aka holo.
I find it disgusting that they're lying like that. Just because something won't kill you if a tiny bit of it happens to fall into your drink or food doesn't mean that it is perfectly fine to just dump a ton of it purposely into something and then lie about it and sell it to people...

im not a scientist, but "ingredient" wise, ALL glitters are the same. The only difference between cosmetic grade glitters (Nail art, makeup, and possibly the cake ones) and craft glitters is how its cut and how often the machine/s get steralised at the factory. Cosmetic grade is cut in a circle shape, while craft glitter is cut primarily in hexagon and octagon shapes. The best and only way to tell is with a macro PHONE CAMERA lens, high powered magnifying glass, or a microscope if you have one just laying around. The reason why cosmetic glitters are in a circular shape is because if that glitter gets in your eye, it has a much smaller chance of slicing your eye up. (Which CAN lead to infection and loss of vision and possibly your eye.) With that same reasoning, that's why all the beautygurus that know what they're doing tell you to not go to wal-mart/Michals/any craft store and just buy the random "super fine" glitter there. The glitters that are sold in craft stores usually aren't cosmetic grade and have the potential of harming your eye.

ok, I think the difference between makeup glitter and the other glitters, eyeshadow glitter (technically it's a makeup glitter) is, or should be, cut ROUND. mainly because craft glitters that are hexagonal will or at least could injure your eye when worn. this is why proper eyeshadow glitter should be cut into little circles. It greatly reduces the risk of stabbing yourself in the eye when worn.
