@@Kane.JimLahey. Get out. You literal child. We have our own opinions.
The character models are a little off, but the environments and designs are gorgeous. I'm glad we finally have a proper look on the game. last trailer was rough but this is alot better.
The game is already a masterpiece!
One things for sure, hearing that soundtrack again will break me
Not having damage graphics to enemies is just a crime at this point or lazyness
well the story isn't really about the enemies is it. ur not supposed to focus on the enemies but the story instead. if that's what ur worried about go play resident evil remakes.
it's Bloober Team, so it's definitely both
Or maybe it’s just an ancomplete game?
They couldn't get rid of the static movements and make it more natural
4:25 This little detail makes total diference
That ground pound needs a better animation. Maybe an overhead bash instead of whatever that is. Looks like hes using a 80 pound dumbbell with every weapon.
Still looks sick and I'm still buying it tho
I'm old(er) and remember when the original SH:2 dropped. Seeing a remake like this is just incredible.
Say what you will about this game, but they’ve absolutely nailed the sound design. I’m getting goosebumps from literally everything, especially the creepy noises the monsters make.
this character animation still looks rough.. for a person who is in an unknown place, it's like he's not cautious or scared at all
To be fair, Sh2 original James was like that too.
Did u not play the original games? The protagonists are like that
If they were scared, they wouldnt be venturing into a foggy abandoned town to begin with
@@ZX235w3 Or crawling in holes with massive blood trails coming out of them...
why this comment has so many likes tf? James IS like this.
"The Last of Resident Evils 2" is looking great!!!
Sounds like a title for a game in play store
Del Toro is probably pissed
Why?
@@Salomon_G because he had a game with them in the works with norman reedus and everyone was excited about it. then Konami suddenly pulled out of games to focus on pachinko machines and cancelled the game.
@@Salomon_G Cause of P.T. project
You realize Silent Hill is bigger than PT right? All of you casuals who talk about PT disgust me
@@darktrexcz But what does this have to do with that? Years difference in time. Konami quit console gaming for years. Why would Del Toro be pissed about Konami remaking SH2? Has nothing to do with him or Silent Hills. This remake would have happened eventually regardless of the timeline.
Oh... the monsters look bad.
They lost the abstract painting aspect of their design and the 4k clarity really puts the nail in the coffin. The painted textures on the Lying Figure look too janky to be scary.
Nobody gonna be scared of a bag with decals!
the monsters aren't scary in the original game too, its psychological horror, that's not the purpose of the monsters
Bro, the same guy that designed the og monsters did this
@kamionero's comment shows that people complain just to complain. Same designer who made the original models made these. And the original were never scary in the first place.
They were definitely scary if you were experiencing the game for the first time when it released, especially at a younger age.
Having only a handful of horror titles back then also made the experiences more worthwhile, horror games are just tossed around everywhere nowadays so you easily predict what’s gonna happen and how the game is going to scare you, well attempt to scare you that is.
No they don't. Stop crying
1:59 Has anyone noticed like me that there are legendary chairs in the game?
The settings are spectacular, but the characters and creatures look WORSE than the original. It looks like the scenarios are from a AAA game but the characters are from an average indie fangame. Not to mention it became RE4
This is not the kind of FOG we all imagined if and when Silent Hill 2 gets a remake. Its 2024, you can do better! This game needs more time.
When this eventually comes to PC one day, imma need the modding community to fix all the character models (make them look like the actual original characters) and replace the audio with the original dialogue recordings.
Wondering if the body he took the matches from at the beginning was a mangled model of James, like the one in the chair in the original.
all of the corpses in the original game are James, even the ones outside in the beginning.
Fake fan, not just the couch, all the bodies are of James. Maybe play the game instead of watching some retrospective online.
@@Kane.JimLahey. Where did he claim that the other bodies aren't James? You utter spit-guzzling chimpo. Find something more respectable to be elitist about
@@Kane.JimLahey. Chill out...
@@hoxiipoxii56 Look, another fake fan lol
10:30 - That creepy crawling straightjacket is back too!
Silent Hill 1 & 2 OGs! Still gives me the chills from the jump scare after you solve the elevator puzzle in 1
The walking and running animation should be better than this it looks like fan made built this also hitting enemies with a pipe on the ground feels junky
You mean “janky”???
whats with the walking animation lol? He's like a robot, they need to work on their animation thats for sure.
It’s Bloober. What did you expect from a dev team that has never made a proper video game before lol
@@caxshenTHAT'S THE POINT! The walking animation, the combat, they made it perfect with awkward movement
@@LordCaoCao240i swear people will defend anything no matter how dumb they look
Alot of people dont know that Silent Hill and Silent Hill 3 has nothing to do with Silent Hill 2
For an indie SH-inspired fan game, it looks alright, if not a bit too RE2 remake. For an official SH remake of the greatest horror game ever made... It does not look great.
Get off your high horse you’re everything wrong with the community
Did you even understand what you said?
@@Light-132 what he said is true tho.. this looks great if it was made by some fans but definitely not if this is the official remake.
For a AA game this is awesome tbh... This remake is not a AAA
@@justaguy263 Whatever it is, it's still too soon to judge it. I'll wait for it to be released first
Feels nothing like Silent HIll, can't believe there is so many people positive about this obvious slop, no wonder the game industry is the way it is now.
Man, imagine what the mall and amusement park (that damn haunted house!) from SH3 would look like with these graphics?! Here's hoping we may get to see that if this performs well enough
Legitimately the first example ive seen of a gameplay looking better than a trailer
this looks better than previous trailers, I’m more excited for this now!
This... doesn't feel right. But i'll give it a chance.
facts
That low health on the screen looks really off
Yeah, maybe make it pulsating, or makes the red moves, or anything, really
It's literally just a static .PNG of red border lmao
@Atarashifatan yeah, or just make the screen gray like it was in the original
Looks half baked, just like everything else in this demake
The radio scene... completely different than the original.. my question is: Why change that scene??
Maybe because it's a remake?
@hogan4670 You do realize what a remake entails right?
@@zacharyrichardson770 Remake doesn't mean recreating everything from the original 1:1
But it literally says remaining faithful to the original 😂
@@Claytons91 It was just the way he got the radio. It can still be faithful to the original. You don't do much thinking hmm?
I'm just happy that Silent Hill games are getting some attention from the developer. Hope new games will come out from this franchise
SH fans deserve way more than this
Definitely!
P.T…
Or maybe stop being a spoiled brat and give it a chance
@@lucasgaleano550 Or maybe have some standards this game should have been better than RE remakes and specially if its PlayStation exclusive 2024 says hello
If you’re gonna complain at least give some reasons
They kept "FARTFACE!!" in, I'm sold. 👍
I´m glad they are keeping that same psychological horror vibe, but there´s something missing with the voice as how it was from the original. It was more..charming and unforgetable.
They could’ve made the the swinging of the pipe more organic. Like somebody who doesn’t know what they’re doing. Maybe James would swing it with one hand sometimes or even drop it that would be pretty cool. That’s probably my only complaint.
Like downpour or homecoming, those games had better animations, an they came out on Xbox 360
Personally, I'm not thrilled with James' new face and his new haircut. 😕
The lack of the signature unnerving music is quite evident as you play. It lacks the scary vibe to the world and the music that made it that much more scary/dreamlike
Laura is officially the most anooying character I've seen
If you are seeing her for the first time she is actually a great character in the original Silent Hill 2 and she is actually kind of lile a "concept" because of what she implys to the game
found the fartface
Thats kind of the point.
Actually this looks promising, looking forward to the remake
While it doesnt look fantastic, it's definitely better than what was shown in previous trailers. Hopefully some of the animations get a little more smoothed out
Something is way off. Not just the characters. It's pretty janky 😢
Its not polished at all, this does look rough. That being said, I’d still play it if it came out in this state. 😆 RE4 Remake and Deadspace have made something like this a task. Got some of us spoiled.
@@FireBomberBassistgood part is bad graphics scare me more and there’s multiple endings
@@fabolousjada5070 Same and if it means we can get the game without having to wait 6 years for AAAA graphics I’ll take it.
It was going to be hard for anyone to remake this because the original is jank and I'd say it's intentionally so, because you're playing as just a normal guy who isn't going to run around life he's special forces or something
Yeah because the original was so polished with great combat and animations, right ? Right?
This looks more like Resident Evil than it does Silent Hill.
Konami coming back to Silent Hill only refuels my hatred towards them for cancelling Silent Hills.
The original SH2 stuck with me more than any other game.
Mads Mikkelsen should of been the face of main char.... would of been so awesome
Yes, if only kojima was involved... He surely would aprove it
That first minute really passes the test. So excited.
James is just Leon from a different timeline
Why are so many people whining? The game isn't even out yet and they're already crying about eveything? The original is still there for anyone who doesn't want to play this
7:48 man the way he moves with the gun what a mass they have done with the animation
A remake of the first game would’ve been nice
Why is the camera movement so deliberately slow? The motion blur must be atrocious.
I’d love to see the first Silent Hill get the same treatment. SH1 and SH2 are my fav survival horror games of all time.
the fog feels like is a meter away from James like he have an invinsible circle that make the fog go away from him thats bad....
Who's gonna tell them that's literally what fog does/looks like?
