- Israel's chief military spokesman has said that the IDF has seized the bodies of three hostages from Gaza.
He named the hostages as Itzhak Gelerenter, Amit Buskila, and Shani Louk, who he said were killed at the Nova music festival on 7 October with their bodies then taken into Gaza.

Hamas would have planned the attack months in advance but they would also have been aware of this festival and timed their attack to coincide with to take advantage of the situation. Its a dangerous region , the organisers could have chosen far safer sites than this. The question is why did the organisers hold it there in the first place.
I would not have regarded the region as particularly dangerous. The venue regularly hosted similar events.
However, the terrorists chose the happiest celebration on the Jewish calendar, akin to attacking the US on December 25 or January 1: everyone who can have military leave is on leave, people are off work and relaxing, parties and festivals are going on.
