As someone who grew up around music, this would definitely be the case for me. I rely heavily on the music in rhythm games to know when to press my buttons. I don't think I would ever be ableto hit that lvl 2.
@@Draggzilla I'm pretty sure that's the actual intent here. Would've been a lot cooler if the super changed to match tempo with the track playing during your match, but this works to build muscle memory
The rhythm super is hard to get down the first time because of the slowing down on the kicks, but once you get it, it becomes pretty consistent, kinda goes to the rhythm of his theme
Seeing jmcrofts consistently hit the opposite punch/kick of what he needs is honestly a highlight of these videos lol. When he couldn’t get the blanka ball followups I immediately thought “he’s hitting kick isn’t he”🤣
Dude you have taught me so much. I wouldn't be enjoying sf6 as much as I am without your tips. Even now I just learned how instant tatsu works because of this video. There are a million videos about how to get good at fighting games but rarely do they talk about super specific stuff like that.
super specific stuff is what brings the most enjoyment to me when learning cause its something that you can just instantly be like i am better at the game now i know how to do this
Kim's high-commit because if she weren't, she'd be broken. Unless I'm doing it wrong, her game is about rushdown+mixup, just forcing the opponent to repeatedly guess wrong multiple times per second. Every time I land something, I can EASILY just MELT the opponent's health off nothing.
@@jhinpotion9230 I’m a huge millia fan and Kimberly’s spray can oki tool really peaked my interest, but after playing her for a bit I felt like a lot of her tools are kinda fake, and projectile oki just doesn’t feel as good in street fighter because it is a much more controlled game. Still, if you are looking for that fast oki character in street fighter Kimberly is the best.
Not sure if it helps, but there's a visual cue to get perfect punches. Aside from saying to release at the flash on his arm, I think all I can suggest is get a feel for the timing.
Tiger Knee the ex Izuna and launch the level 2 into the ground bounce. Another usable ground bounce into her level 2 is the command throw from run. Opponents might ragequit, though. Kimmy is a salt-factory.
at 20:21 you talk about the crouch medium kick vs crouch medium punch. In this game, crouch medium kicks scale to 80% on next hit rather than 90%. It's a very specific thing for cr. mk and doesn't apply to lk or lp or mp etc.
6:38 that is how I feel about a lot of the combos in trials. In theory a lot of em make sense, but I’m not doing the exact versions of em. Like some of Chun Li’s combos that start with or have LP in them. Starting with LP is good for hit confirming but I tend to use LP to bait buttons (or for simple combos). Combos that start with LP DR LP I find it better (and more damage) to sub out with MP or B MP. Footsies baiting with a LP, walk back, crouching MK/ MP punish. Idk but my brain computes that better.
I would’ve never been able to do Intermediate 7 with Kimberly without the Tiger Knee explanation. Thanks man. Can you please make an updated SF6 video on mechanics that aren’t explained but used in SF combo trials? Thanks in advance!
I just started getting back into street fighter after street fighter 1. Lol, long time I know, but I’m glad to see a pro like yourself had a bit of a time with Blanka. I managed to get through it but it wasn’t easy, it probably is just me and get my fighting skills back up, but still I’m not alone haha.
I'm a musician and a dancer and Deejay's just-frame supers feel impossible to me because it's not a consistent tempo throughout. If you have rhythm it's HARDER!!!
Wait it's just frame?! I've had the most luck by just timing each subsequent hit as soon as the previous one connects. It's really not very rhythmic, it's just a basic timing puzzle (inb4 but that's what rhythm is!!!).
Also for people who struggle with combo trials and after they do it, they don’t understand why they can’t do any of it. Memorize the combos by breaking it up to parts and when you do the full combo, don’t even look at the recipe. Sure you get a few titles out of combo trials but other than that its wasted time if you come out from trial mode and don’t remember a single one other than the beginners.
I wanna see you do Juri! I'm trying to main her without ever having played a street fighter before and I thought they were tough so I'd like to see how they are for a SF veteran.
Thinking heavily about buying the game I played street fighter in ps2 but never past that I want to get into it as I love the look and design of characters I don’t know If I should go for it though love watching all the street fighter 6 vids ❤
Everyone I've talked to agrees with me that I'm valid for thinking that Street Fighter 6 is the best street fighter and can even be regarded as the second coming of Jesus Christ for fighting games. But if that doesn't convince you, I can understand.
Little anecdote, a buddy of mine and I got into fighting games with 3rd strike over the pandemic but he was less into it because of inputs. I told him about sf6 with modern and we played offline on day 1 and he was hooked. So if the inputs or difficulty is intimidating this is probably the best street fighter for a beginner
JM I love your content bro. But my only complaint about the combo trials is that you don’t upload all of them. (Or I missed them in other videos that aren’t combo trial vids.) I don’t see the Lily, or the JP combo trials on your page. You also didn’t upload about 3-5 characters combo trials from SF4 when you went back and redid them recently.
I’m hard stuck on the one with Dee Jay where you have to perform the ‘hard rhythm’ I want to learn DeeJay after completing his trials like Marisa….but damn son. Performing that super correctly has my fingers hurting.
I'm getting hard walled by the stupidest thing on Blanka Advanced 2. I can do every part of the combo individually. 5HP -> Up ball -> Roll down -> Drive Rush -> 5HP -> Coward Crouch -> P follow up -> JMP -> Air rolling... easy. No problem. Now if I could keep the muscle memory to do all of that after 4-5 failed attempts at 5HP -> Super 2 that'd be great. I swear I only get that cancel 20% of the time, I just can't do a clean double quarter circle motion fast enough, if I try to go faster I skip the 1 gate at least once and get electricity instead of super 2.
I am sooooooooo bad at this game lol. But I'm having a ton of fun learning the characters and playing World Tour. Learning Ken's trials and my timing sucks lol. So fun and rewarding though Also, charge inputs are my worst nightmare 😅 They frustrate me so much lol
Intermediate 12 and beginning of advanced 1 are missing from blanka. I think some footage wasnt put in after a cut. You should add JP combo trial into the playlist so people dont think you are missing it. Other than that great video.
I had the complete opposite experience on JP vs Blanka. Those install combos took me so long to do. The intermediate was like 15min and the expert one took me a good half hour. Contrast that with JP who took me maybe 10-15 minutes total to go through the entire trial set. I thought you'd have JP way lower tbh and for me personally Blanka is an 8 on those two install trials alone.

i found juri's to be really hard, the game is really confusing with the moves the game tells you to do as well with her rekka but its easy enough to figure out those by watching the example.
How did you get Dee Jay's Intermediate 5 on your second try? It is impossible for me because the Machine Gun Uppercut WILL NOT come out if I press anything before HP. I can do HP xx MGU all day, but as soon as I try MP, HP xx MGU, it says "Nah mon" and throws away my inputs.
Does anyone have a piece of music or a stick recording without game noise so I can hear it? The only indication I have for the actual pulse is watching the inputs appear visually which is really rough. I have completed it exactly once x_x
This might be a stupid question but how did you get the inputs to appear on screen like that? I was getting annoyed that wasn’t a feature when trying these earlier on PC
To be fair, the rhythm element of Dee Jay's level 2 isn't set to any music, which makes it a lot harder if you ask me.
