No game has ever had me sitting jaw hanging open, unable to even move in just stunned shock and sadness when it ended like this game did. My god the ending of this game series is trauma-inducing.
We have yet to reach the amount of sadness this game gives, in Xenoblade. I really hope Xenoblade can pull off getting as much feels as this masterpiece of a game series. I can't believe Xenosaga got almost no recognition for being the saddest story I've ever had the chance to play through.
I agree. This game is so sad, in a much more heavier way than Tales of Berseria, because Berseria is an open wound kind of pain. It's the kind of game that makes you cry a lot, but also makes you feel better in the end, while Xenosaga III is a crushing look at human vulnerability, with a small glimpse of hope. It's very dark stuff. Still, a fascinating game.
Same story, updated direction and script. Not going to lie, original VO, direction, script, and gameplay were ass. The epic space opera that it was carried it alone into infamy.

this game is borderline flawless topped with an ending that i don't see myself ever recovering from. xenosaga is incredible and episode 3 is a masterpiece
The most underated ps2 jrpg series, always wished it was more successful since it was supposed to be a 6 part series of games but sadly with how badly the 2nd game sold they ended things with Xenosaga 3. But even still the games were amazing and the story and characters are so unique. Some of the best JRPGs I ever played, I love the xenosaga games

Went back to listen to this because of Luxin and my god it hits even harder now after Xenoblade 3's ending.... god Takahashi you genius making all your Xeno ending themes so similar and good. I had to cry again just because I cried at Xenosaga Episode III's ending a ton like Xenoblade 3.
There's a theory out there that Xenosaga 3's ending and Xenoblade 3: Future Redeemed's ending are the same ending, from different perspectives. It's really interesting.
What an emotionally destroying game. I heard this song before playing it and can very vividly recall the Star Wars Force level of feeling that this song meant many agape mouths and devastated individuals.
The infinite circle has been broken. And we can only hope to see what may come next. Well, if Vampire the masquerade can come back perhaps hope is worth holding on to.

The party started looking for Earth, and KOS-MOS was seen floating toward what looks like Earth. The destruction of the universe was delayed by chaos and Nephilim, but to be stopped the party must do something on Earth. Everyone has a clear goal, and not everything is complete yet. It's not so much "open-ended" as it is a total cliffhanger. I also can't believe that I forgot just how much of a cliffhanger it was. I wanna know what happens next!! And to make matters worse, the trilogy remaster that was circulating for a while at Monolith was deemed too low profit to carry out, thus dooming the series to at least another few years off shelves.
i remember playing all 3 episodes of the main series game as a teenager to completion, and really enjoyed it but didn' understand anything about the main story lol. i didn't have the same problem with final fantasy. gotta find a youtube video explaining about everything that happened in this game
They haven't done Episodes 2 and 3 yet, but a youtube channel called Resonant Arc have done an extensive podcast on the first game going over its themes, characters, and hidden meanings. If you're into deep dives into games then I VERY much recommend them. Their Podcasts have helped me studying so many times lol

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it doesn't exist and will never exist. Lots of unreleased tracks were stored separately in the game's files, so they were ripped and uploaded separately as unreleased tracks. But that track (which plays when Shion summons the Gnosis, I call it 'maiden of the apocalypse') isn't stored separately in the game's files - it's hard-baked into the cutscene audio and can't be extracted cleanly. Really, your only hope of ever getting a full version is to steal Yuki Kajiura's hard drive.
What's the difference between Sophia and Nephilim? Zarathustra is the final boss here. Is there a link between the lost memory of Xenogears to Xenosaga?

(If the answer is NO maybe you can still help me out) I am looking for a Track from the Xenosaga Episode III soundtrack, specifically "maybe tomorrow (the INSTRUMENTAL Version)". I can not find this Track, it plays right after "I love you, sincerely" in the cutscene where KOS-MOS is carrying Allen. To my original question: I suspect this Track has not been claimed from the Games files (I have no Idea how, or why this could be the case, since there are multiple upload of the complete OST on TH-cam and other sites). So if you are getting the songs from the files I request that you look into the matter and please upload it to TH-cam. Or I am just a complete Idiot and the song was in plain sight all along, in that case it would be nice if you could point me in the right direction. It doesn't play during the game's credits; it plays before and after. The medley section in the middle was replaced in-game with hepatica#3~I believe in you, which plays for the duration of the credits.

Monolith Soft doesn't own the IP. Bandai Namco does, and they're the ones who decided it wasn't profitable enough.
