    I have 2 associates degrees and a ton of relevant coursework for the internship that I just got, when I interviewed for it the woman said she was so impressed with my resume, and pointed out that she was especially impressed with my achievements in high school and college sports!!! This is an interior design position that has nothing to do with sports! She said it showed that I worked well on a team!!!

    Your resume advice helped me so much my first two years out of college. I'm in the media/film field and sometimes it's hard keeping track of so many resumes but it's really helped me in the long run. I've finally been able to book a lot of film set jobs so thank you!

    Hi Lauren,
    I have a question about the formatting of the resume. You said that employers prefer if you have something different in the formatting, however recently I went to an investment banking talk that tells us the "proper" way of formatting your resume. They went into a very strict detail about how everything needs to be in a Times New Roman font, your name shouldn't be to big, etc. They were very clear that they didn't want anything fancy and that's unprofessional. How do I know when it is considered creative to put colors and aesthetics into my resume, or when it's "unprofessional"? I hope you see this comment. Thanks!!

    In my country, hiring managers use programs that strip information off your resume and notify them of your suitability for the job. So...The design part isn't a big factor anymore....

    Can you make a video on resume designs or color? or does it matter? Ivory or white? Thick or thin paper? Im searching but many videos only talk about how to write one, not what it should look like.

    Hey Intern Queen! Your videos are great! However, I have a question I was recently at my school (your alma mater) career services. My advisor told me to take the green off my resume and make it all black, so what is your opinion on that when I should have color and when I should have all black?

    Hey!! I'm applying for a fashion internship this summer and I was wondering what would be appropriate to wear. Would I be expected to wear business clothes (i.e., blouse, dress pants & a blazer) or something more casual and my style. I was thinking of wearing something super stylish (knee high stuart weitzmen boots, skirt, loong turtleneck) or possibly a nice blouse and black pants. **I'm just not sure whether they'd want me to come in something semi-casual (no jeans though, of course) that expresses my personal style or an all- business outfit?**

    • @internqueen
      @internqueen  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +kallie miss Hi thank you for watching the video! That is a great question. For the interview I would definitely stick to a suit but make it your own and express your style through accessories. You can add a nice necklace, nice shoes, and a cute bag. Once you start interning, ask about the dress code and you will know how you can implement your style at your new internship. :)

    Hay! I found you through Michelle Phan, and I am so glad I did! Your videos are extremely informative and concise. I was wondering, however, are there any layouts or websites online that have a creative resume layout?
    Also, to hand in a resume for any public health or medical internship, would you recommend, going all out creative or have uniformity and only the same pop of color throughout?
    Thanks again (:

    Hi. I have a question about writing my resume. My school had a lecture once about writing a perfect resume. But the lecturer said that if I am applying for a logistic/Marketing department, I should NOT write that I worked in Starbucks or other restaurants. Is this true?
    Besides that, the part that I should link the job description (Internet savvy) in which part of the resume? which subtitle?
    I really hope you can help me because I need to start my internship on September or I wont be able to graduate. Thank you!

    • @internqueen
      @internqueen  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Naomi Lean Hi! Great question! It all depends on what experience you have. I would always list the most relevant experience towards the top of your resume. I have a saying "don't let the eyes stop at Starbucks". What I mean by this is that if for example you volunteered at your local library and did something related to marketing, put that experience at the top. Always make sure your resume is only one page so, if you have lots of experience you might not necessarily need to include Starbucks :) I hope this helped a bit. :)

    Hi Lauren! Just wanted to say that I love your videos and I have learned so much. I was wondering if you have any advice on referees. I recently watched your video on how to get an internship and you stated that its best to apply for 10 -20 internships per semester, would I be telling my referees that I have applied to those 10-20 internships?

    Thank you for sharing and making cool videos! I've just recently subscribed :)
    I have a question, though, can you tell me the difference between CV and resume? Because I've seen different types of resume that you stated on the video, but the CV? I only have one format that I have sent to all employers. Am I doing it wrong? More explanation of this is really appreciated! :D

    • @internqueen

      Good questions. Usually when people refer to a "CV" they are referring to a "RESUME" but located outside of the US. In Europe, a CV is the term used for resume. But here is a good definition - I don't agree with all of the pointers but it's helpful definition wise :) www.thebalance.com/cv-vs-resume-2058495
