    The thing I noticed a lot at the end is that you always try and run it on hyzer or flat. My best chances with the Berg are always on a slightly anhyzer forehand to just float it in.

      I agree to this.

    • @michaeldenieu4525
      @michaeldenieu4525 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Same. That's the real strength of the berg, imo, is that when you give it a little anhyzer it will fight back to flat and fly straight.

    • @danielhicks5031
      @danielhicks5031 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it depends on how u naturally want to throw forehand. I just started learning simple forehand upshot’s recently and idk why but I have to force myself to throw hyzer. My first 20 shots all came out ani and it still feels natural to do it that way

    • @QactisX
      @QactisX ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Disagree. The berg caters to whatever you like to do. Almost all of my huge throw ins were actually backhand hyzers and spike hyzers, or straight to hyzer forehands.

  • @johnlockesmith
    @johnlockesmith ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Something a lot of people haven't quite figured out about the Berg: it has more glide when thrown on a hyzer. The most accurate ways to throw it are on an anhyzer with a slight parabola or straight but slightly nose up the whole way. On these paths, just give it exactly enough spins to go to the basket. The moment it stops spinning it sits.

    Have you worked on utility shots at all? Obviously backhand/forehand/putting should all be prioritized, but I think a video learning different utility shots would be cool! Grenades, rollers, tomahawks, etc. can be like cheat codes in the right places

      @@BodanzaDiscGolf Roller first may be another option, just tacking on. Most over hand shots are going to be highly specific based on the reason you are forced to throw overhand shots. I personally am aware of a few players who throw incredible overhand shots, however that is generally as a teeshot and not scramble shot which I don't think is your aim. Roller can be a better and more applicable shot that is easier to learn as someone who is also trying to enhance my game and maybe add on some extra distance in the process.

    I bag 2 bergs, 1 regular k1 and 1 k1 soft. The k1 soft flies like your k3 hard but is super soft and will not skip both for the reason that its soft and that it lands flat most of the time. Regular k1 mostly for forehands and when I want to power up, but in most cases I just tend to disc up if I want to throw with full power.

    I picked one up,finally. I decided to bag it. It’s def. A utility disc for me but where I would use a zone or putter I can use the berg instead of cranking on those other discs and I know where the berg is going. I have four bergs. 2 k1 soft, 1 k1 and 1 Glow k1. Deadly accurate under 200 ft both fore- and backhand. Absolutely most used disc. My son also loves berg. At first he didn't like berg (becouse throws discmania), but after throwing berg each other in our backyard he wanted one of my bergs in his bag😁 One of the nicest thing about throwing berg is, that it magically seems to stuck very close to pin. Rolling isn't a issue with berg, becouse it fells out of sky.

    I would definitely second getting the K1 soft Berg.
    As an amateur disc golfer the Berg is my go to approach disc for distances up to 60 meters. I can throw the berg pretty hard and know that even if it’s a bad throw it won’t be so far away that I don’t have a putting chance. If you nail the shot the berg can fly pretty laser and I have even nailed a couple of 30m throwins that landed in the basket with it.
    I also sometimes use the berg for putting if the basket is on a hill or other place where if I miss the putt it can roll or put me in a difficult spot. The berg just doesn’t move a lot on the ground which is really nice.
    I think a lot of people misunderstand the Berg. It doesn’t fly very far but it’s not meant for long distance. It’s meant for short approaches and will give you minimal ground play.

Badass discs for sure, the glitch is also one of my favorite 1 speeds. I bag a few of those for warm up catch rounds before playing and I'll throw them at anything straight and 250' and in with a good high ceiling. They are MONEY if you used to throw any ultimate.

    My experience has been kind of the opposite. I started with K3 but really didn't like how beat up it got and how dust stuck to it.
    I got a K1 next and it's stayed in the bag. I don't think the stability is any different, but I do think it glides more. That was also true when I was putting with both.

    Team glitch. Glitch changed my upshot game. It's surprisingly torque resistant, and it goes where you throw it (for better or worse) I mostly play in the woods, with dangerous greens. I can always count on the Glitch to match the slope of the green and sit flat. I even use it for short tee shots. If you give it some good spin and height, it'll stay in the air forever.

      glitch seems like the complete opposite disc its a putter with insane glide vs one with almost none sounds like they would pair perfect together!

      @@nectar8449 they're wildly different, in terms of glide, yes. I just never gelled with the Berg.

    My Burg litterally has zero fade. Just throw it straight and it'll hit your spots. Also, I keep two one speed discs in my bag. A Burg for straight shots and a Polecat for short anhyzer lines.

    berg is so good for downhill shots and touchy upshots when you need a step down from a zone like approach disc!

    you should compare the berg to the landmine. i think its a good comparison unless the base plastic of the landmine beat in too much already

    Berg forever! It’s never let me down and I’ve gotten 2/3 of my aces with it. Anything 210 and under is a berg shot. It almost gets used more than my putter cause I use it for approaches outside c1. Losing it would really mess my game up haha.

    I am still avoiding 'it' since I have my putting putter in a premium plastic for stright approaches and it is better to learn with that first... or should I buy one... nah. Got a jOKERi on the way that might kick out a midrange OS approach ;)
    Oh, and another 1 speed low glide is the Hydrogen by Løft ^_^

    Stokely putts with a Birdie Marvel. He quit using Bergs very early in the season.
    IT looks like the K1 Soft (formerly K2) is the plastic you need. Not as overstable as K1, more stable than K3, and it doesn't beat in like the K3 will.

    Bergs really shine 200 foot and in approach flicks... Yeah you can back hand them, but they feel weird in the hand for sure.. forehand they are buttery smooth...
    They will not flip up out of a hyzer and tend to just hold it the whole time... Nose down anny and it will typically hold that as well... But nose up floaty anny and it will flex really nice...

    Pretty sure that Scott abandoned doing circle putts with the Berg. He putts with the Marvel, and uses the Berg for approach shots.

    Actually putted with the Berg for a while. Being a spin putter I tended to go 30-50 feet long "if" I missed the basket. Which was why I swapped to berg. But started working on a spush putt instead so now I use envy or proxy instead. The berg has it's good sides but I use a strictly mvp/axiom/streamline bag now.

    Don't throw a berg on hella hyzer and then wonder why it hyzer dumps on you. Bergs are designed to be stupidly torque resistant, and very straight. I have had a 2017 K1 IceBerg in the bag since it launched and it flies almost exactly the same as it ever did (just a tick less stable now). I very rarely grip it like a throwing putter, I usually grip it like a driver. If I'm throwing backhand with it I'm using all 5 fingers and I'm just pointing and shooting. K1 can hold turnover lines if you actually give it anny and some air and since Bergs are amazing rollers, turnovers are generally the safest play so they are flat when they hit the ground.
    Back when it launched I got flamed hard for using it, now it seems like everyone's jumping on the bandwagon. I couldn't care less at this point. I have a few bergs but I only use the same one I've been using for 5 years.
