Not such a dubstep fan, but by watching this vid a want to go to Bristol. You people are so smart, have great music (love nineties triphop) and have a great sense of football (Rovers/City) Bigs ups from Antwerp, Belgium
Oh yeah, the 'Stafford Sound'. It's making waves... If you watch the film, both parts 1+2, you'll see that no one's claiming it came from Bristol. There's no propaganda here my man, just a little celebration of the sick tunes coming out of Bristol today. The universal consensus is that London is dubstep's homeland. Not sure where Stafford fits in with the music's origins... Like I said, easy now. Let's all just enjoy the music.
I wish more towns/ cities in the UK would do documentaries like this. Brum, Manchester, Sheffiled, Leeds all these places and more, why so quiet? And actually I'm not bothered where dubstep started (London?) I'm glad it did though, and I'm glad Bristol are taking it upon themselves to document this for the future, the rest of the country need to take note I think.
@MegaAkimbo Correction birmingham is the original home of dubstep because of mick harris and his scorn project which started playing music that holds it own with modern dubstep over 10 years ago.
nero, chase and status, cookie monster, original sin, tempa t, p money and many more names are at lakota in bristol tonight till 6 am. and ive missed it. 1000 people have tickets and its sold out. im staring at my computer screen at half 1 in the morn and im fucking gutted. :( :( :( :( :(
@lewisb187 yeah, not a bad point actually. but I guess some would see mick harris's music working alongside, instead of coming before, the sounds that were coming out of south london. it happened pretty much simultaneously
Its worldwide now! 2-Step & UK Garage as well as Trip-Hop and Reggae all have influences- So to say it' derives from Jungle or Grime is not accurate. HVYHTTRS google it
How horrible to see them using a laptop and Tiemcodes. Theay are into the scene, theay are the new Underground. Why dont they run with the wulfes who created them and use f*ckin Vinyl?
