      Would love to see more too. Whilst I've got a hoard of hardware delays and reverbs, dub mixing in software is something that I'd love to see more of as most demos don't come close to this. Quite impressed.

    Most of what you are hearing in hip hop trap is from reggae. All those delays and ambient sounds are coming from reggae dubs. Even the rap is coming from reggae. It's a shame waves and some of these people don't do more on reggae productions.

      @@mttlsa686 the influence of the hard roots reggae is so prominent in the later trap and rap more than even the dancehall from around the 2012 mark. I can't believe these hip hop artist don't know where what they are doing is from and the origin of it.

    And then you can do the opposite of you want the effect of everything seamlessly morphing into each other. Like instead of always taking 2 things out and 2 things in you never take something in or out at the same time. That way everything overlaps and the transitions are less noticeable, can also be a cool effect.

    The spring reverb in your demo is only "Available only in selected bundles" in the link you posted, but doesn't appear to be in the GTR3 bundle. It only appears to be available in one of the super-expensive bundles. Is that an accident or by design? If intentional, bummer.

    • @davidwaves6190
      @davidwaves6190 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidwaves6190 Thanks for your reply. I finally found the spring reverb, deeply nested in the dropdown menu. I was expecting to see it in the list of VST's in Ableton Live. Not the most user-friendly UI choice to hide it in a dropdown of an unmarked VST. That said (having finally found it), I like it!

    Would be helpful to know what some of your terms, like "returns," are or mean and how to use the dubbing element on my radio/cd/cassette player.

    • @craigsurette3438
      @craigsurette3438 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sadly the "dub" settings on your tape player has next to nothing to do with Dub music. Playing audio, and then re recording what you do with it, was called "dubbing" back in the 60s/70s, which is what the early Dub artists were doing using these techniques Taking parts of a song, running them through a mixer and effects, and then "dubbing" the results onto another tape deck.
      The Dub settings on your tape recorder, are for recording from one tape, to another to make copies etc
      As to your other question
      In mixing, sends and returns are channels on a mixer, which are for effects processing chains.
      You send dry audio from one channel, into the sends, and then that gets effected, and the now effected audio goes to the returns channels, so you can mix levels of dry and effected signals, and otherwise process them separately further
      I hope this clarifies things a bit
