We Dimasas have a closer connection to Morans, Deoris, Sonowals, Koch and the closest one is Tripuris among the non-existent kachari grouping that Garos, Tripuris, Hajongs don't use.. All Kacharis are similar. Not only boros. We Dimasas have a closer connection to Morans, Deoris, Sonowals, Koch and the closest one is Tripuris among the non-existent kachari grouping that Garos, Tripuris, Hajongs don't use.. Only because Morans, Deoris, Sonowals and Koch have lost their language and have mixed A LOT biologically, we can't see the similarity much.
No dimasa even knew of Boro people's existence until very recently. And our language might be 40% similar but our way of talking and accents is very very different. And don't get me started on how different our culture and tradition is than yours. You don't even have the concept of Daikhos or Nohdrang or Sengphong or Jilik or Khel. Nothing.
So don't talk about stupid unity. We were never one. Dimasas left from Upper Assam and settled in Dima Bang Halali (Dimapur) because of conflict with the same Kacharis. And we never ever in our life called ourselves Kacharis. We called ourselves Dzi-ma-sa or Ha-Tsung-Tsa before migrating to Dimapur.
Lastly: Why am I so against it?
You steal our history.
You change our kings name.
You seal our architecture.
You steal our words because of yours being super poor.
You reconstruct your language taking our help.
You brainwash your younger generations with fabricated history.
You claim dzimasas came out of boro.
And we never lived in same kingdom. When we moved to Dzimapur you guys were already living in lower assam.
You claim boro people lived in Dimapur when we have SOLID proof that there wasn't any Boros living there. We have 42 male and female clans. Absolutely none of them have connection to boros. We have history of our kings or common person marrying karbi, meitei, rongmei naga, zeme naga, rengma naga, angami naga, hrangkhol, biate, koch etc etc but never boro. Why ? Because you people didn't live here. You idiot. Stop claiming our history as yours. And maybe we can come on terms on some grounds.
Dzi-ma-sas always considered themselves as the royal ones among all the tribes that call themselves Kachari today.
What do you think we will get by uniting with boro? Gift our history to yours? Adopt your culture or clothing designs that doesn't even look tribal?

And besides that there's a way of speaking a language. Pronunciation is just one of them. You boro people don't even sound remotely close to our language despite being 40% similar. Tripuri's kokborok sounds far more similar than your Assamese-Influenced accent.

And lastly dimasa were never called Kacharis. It's a word that other tribal communities adopted recently .It was only used for Koch people. I don't want to be known by a word which we don't call ourselves.
Kachari doesn't even sound like a dimasa word. I call myself Dzimasa not Kachari. Nor will I ever add Kachari after Dimasa. It makes no sense.
And Mizo is not an umbrella term for all Mizo-Kuki-Chin people. There's a reason why many smaller tribes fled from mizoram. And there's a constant conflict between naga people too.
