This album was clearly for the fans, but I have to strongly disagree with you disliking the ringer because “he used to take criticism in strides”, he’s literally done the opposite of that his entire career. That’s why people love his music, it’s never a rational response. He always gets pissed off and raps about it. It’s the same formula, he just doesnt use the same flow. The Eminem show and MMLP 1 are full of content that shows how much criticism actually bothered him. And that was in the middle of his career.

This album was clearly for the fans, but I have to strongly disagree with you disliking the ringer because “he used to take criticism in strides”, he’s literally done the opposite of that his entire career. That’s why people love his music, it’s never a rational response. He always gets pissed off and raps about it. It’s the same formula, he just doesnt use the same flow.
The Eminem show and MMLP 1 are full of content that shows how much criticism actually bothered him. And that was in the middle of his career.
JoePlayoMusic at that time (sslp and mmlp) , Eminem was a rising star and he was young, it was acceptable for him to take those criticism personally. However , Eminem now is a middle-age man and one of the goat . If he is still like this, it will become really unnecessary and pointless.
It would be better for him if he tried to rap about deep issues. He has tried on revival, talking about trump, white privilege etc , but it was not good. The lyrics of these issues were corny.

Most artists, in order to stay relevant, need to reinvent themselves to set the bar again. This isn’t just true of music, but of any art in general. Eminem thought he could come back to thunderous applause for a style that hasn’t stood the test of time while changing nothing new about his formula. Do I like the direction hip hop went in and do I like the mumble brand it’s procreated? No, but I’m not going to blame the general public, critics, or artists themselves for liking things or disliking things.
Everyone isn’t going to hail to the opinion you’ve seemed to put above all others, the world doesn’t work that way.
