I'm so glad I found this video! Learning about the backstory of this song, my mind was already blown. I knew people talked about how genius Stromae's lyrics are if you are fluent in French, and I understood the lyrics on the surface (plus I've probably listened to Papaoutai about 500 times at this point) but you pointing out the parallelism in the first verse was really interesting! Then when you mentioned empapaouter my jaw dropped. Stromae is a genius!! I would LOVE to see you guys break down as many of his songs as you can! Thank you for helping me appreciate this masterpiece even more.
