Many people don't seem to understand the serious backstory behind this song. The father of Stromae died during the Rwandan Genocide of 1991, thus making our beloved singer grow up without a father.
It's not about that, it's about an absent father (as in "not able to be a father"). There's a verse in the song saying that everybody is able to make a baby, but not everybody is able to make a father.
We had to analyze this song in class today. It's been 5 years and i finally got the meaning of this song, dispite it being so obvious. His father doesnt pay attention to him, he's physically there, but not mentally paying attention to his son. The son saw the families together outside, the ones dancing, something he never got to do. At the end when he also turns doll-like, it signifies that we're basically newer versions of our parents, since our parents are our role models for our whole childhood, we learn from them and so the son became just like him.

this song kinda just hits hard to the soul especially the part when he says "we all know how to make babies, but know one knows how to make papas" thats just so true. we all know how to create a child but do we have what it takes to be a parent. do we have what it takes to be a good example for our children and this song even coming out in 2013 should be seen know because how life is going in 2018 there are more children in this world then there is responsible parents!

One of the best songs. In general. Ever
It's a copy of twin twin ''moustache''
Papa SOS often use this song to show the importance of a father in a child's life.
He is belgian
this song kinda just hits hard to the soul especially the part when he says "we all know how to make babies, but know one knows how to make papas" thats just so true. we all know how to create a child but do we have what it takes to be a parent. do we have what it takes to be a good example for our children and this song even coming out in 2013 should be seen know because how life is going in 2018 there are more children in this world then there is responsible parents!
