You were busy! Must have been doing a lot of editing yesterday!! I watched your playthrough of The Fields of Normandy and started researching the other books. I've definitely got my eye on The Fields of Normandy, Lone Sherman, Ghosts of the Jungle (I really like Spec Ops, small unit action) and HRT. The price doesn't seem crazy and the portability can't be any better!!
I really like this module, the rules really do seem like you're playing a major boardgame, but it's compact and easy to implement! I enjoyed watching this being played and taking it for a spin for us! M4ShermanBoardgame Channel sounds like a fine name to change to. I'm sure nobody will notice. 😁😎

I would higly recommend Mike Lambos game books, especially considering you travel and play a lot. His game books are also super easy to record, so it could really be something for your channel! As you say, they are inexpensive, but the quality is high. I don't know how he manages to release games with so small amount of errata and errors, and such high quality rules. Many other games released independently often suffers from low quality rules.

If you like Spec Ops, I recommend Hostage Rescue Squad. The AI is very well done.

I watched Mike's vid on this one the other day and warmed to it far more than I did watching Greg's vid for Tank Ace.

Mike does great videos! Did you play any of them yet? I've still to play ATA! Got too much on the table currently.

@@WW2SolitaireBoardGameChannel I got Battles of Normandy, so I am busy losing that at the moment - haha! Also have Midway Solitaire waiting to be opened.

This preview format is a good one for videos, Daniel: a succinct walkthough of the rules plus a little game play is very helpful.

Thank you, I am glad that you enjoyed it! I shall do some proper playthrough videos later on and then finish with a more "meaty" review which will talk about the rules, mechanics and so on, and my opinions even more in depth.

As usual, a really great review and analysis. Mike Lambo's games are very playable and deceptively sophisticated.

Thank you Sir! Oh yes, I'm very impressed with them. I would love to do an interview with him one day and hear more about his gaming background and which games has inspired him. I wonder what will come next from him!

Thanks Dan - great video as ever. Might have been better to take the shot first on your first turn and then move away and wait for him to come out into the open more. Better luck next time 😊

I got greedy for the kill!! I always think that since I am recording, luck will be on my side and I will win against all odds! Then reality usually sets in.. Which probably makes it pretty fun to watch ;) I can't wait to get killed again! Hopefully I'll take some bad guys with me next time.. Cheers Mike!

@@WW2SolitaireBoardGameChannelHaha. And remember that line of sight only runs along straight lines of hexes in each of the 6 directions so you do not need a straight edge and the second tank could not in fact Fire at the Sherman 🙂

@@mikelambosolitairebookgames I am going to have to practice on that :P It's pretty funny because LOS is my big battle no matter which game, as long as it has hexes :P Something in my brain don't connect there. Maybe it's from one of the falls I took as a wild kid xD

@@WW2SolitaireBoardGameChannel I don't like having 'uncertain' lines of sight in my games and so I always draft the rules in such a way as to make rulers and laser pointers unnecessary! Here it is easy - just trace along the six lines of hexes that lead out from the hex the tank is in - see the diagram on page 7 for a clear example.

@@WW2SolitaireBoardGameChannel I think I might also try using a hex board like Memoir '44 to play this using my Micro Armour that has been sitting idle for 30+ years.
