I knew there had to be an easier way than replacing the whole cowl as I have seen done that did look great, but the cost was enormous. I upgraded from halogen to H9 LEDs on my car and the difference is remarkable. One side was so difficult to get to (and out of), it looked like I pulled my hand out of the mouth of a mountain lion. I got 6000K for the daylight whiteness, 15000LM for intensity and would probably use about the same on a bike. I haven't gotten stopped, but anything over 3000LM supposedly is not legal in my state. So, I did it anyway. They don't have a listing for Kelvin limits, so that probably doesn't matter. The people running this state probably wouldn't know what that was in the first place. I might check other bikes that come with LEDs and see what their specs are and either match it, or double it. Thank you for taking the time to share.
You're welcome. I don't have issues here where I live. Modern vehicles with LED lights off and look like they have their brights on when they don't. I'm guessing the law enforcement doesn't seem like my lights are out of the ordinary. Let me know what you come up with and how it worked out. Nice to see such analytical thinking BTW. Ride safe!
BEWARE ! In the past ( a few years ago ) I replaced the headlight on my Vulcan 750 with a led bulb . Easy to install and very good bright light . The problem is that the bulb burnt out in only a few months . I then tried a few different brands , some with and some without cooling fans built in . Same result . I ended up going back to a standard light . I wish I could find a led that would last . But so far every led I've tried is a waste of money .

Hi very nice video. Followed this video to replace my Kawasaki Vulcan 650 S headlight bulb with LED. thank you. can you please post a tutorial video for replace of turn indicators to LED please. cannot find one yet.
Thank you for the reply and feedback on my video helping you replace your headlight bulb. I do apologize that I won't be changing my turn indicators to LED anytime soon, and maybe never. Some parts of a motorcycle design from the factory engineering team I think are excellent left as-is. Enjoy the new light bulb and always ride safe.
AUXITO H4 9300 was the bulb. Amazon. It's been a couple years but I will look for a link. Here's the link. It's an upgrade to mine, same bulb. AUXITO H4 9003 HB2 LED Bulb Fog Lights Bulbs for Motorcycle, 400% Brighter 6000K Cool White 1860 CSP Chips, Pack of 1 a.co/d/05ZZGI9d
Any idea how to remove the smaller light above the main headlight. Tugged on the rubber cover but felt like i was about to do some damage so left it alone 😅
I'm guessing the small light bulb burned out? I couldn't imagine any other reason why you would want to remove it. I have not tried to remove mine, but it's possible that it is a banette type. These usually push inward, and twist slightly, then pull out. You can Goggle banette bulb to see what I mean. You can also find the Vulcan shop manual like many others on the web, probably as a downloadable PDF file. I don't have time right now to do that, so let me know if you figure it out or not.
Not sure why but "Amazon Vehicle Fit" system does tell me that AUXITO H4 9003 is NOT compatible with my 2018 Vulcan S... Was this the same result for you (assuming you got your on Amazon as well)?
Mine fit fine. Amazon vehicle fit is not always correct. The Vulcan S has been all but identical since 2015 on most components, yet several upgrade parts from several manufacturers only list parts as fitting of couple years or so on Amazon. Then on the Q&A sections, often the seller chimes in with a "yes it does" on other years. Obviously the AUXITO bulb I used fit my Vulcan S, my DR-Z400, and a few other H4 compatible vehicles.
I looked at that light also. My experience with LEDs and car change-outs is depending on the car, some "think" the headlight is out, because LEDs use so much less power, that it messes with the system. Sometimes you'll get a flickering from your dome light, or in worst case the engine light for instance. Some have to buy the bulbs that have a transformer type of device that pulls more power over that of the bulb, to make your car "think" the old halogen bulb is working fine, with no flickering or the like. So if the specs are what you want, that your bike can take and the connectors are identical, then it does fit and it does work.
That's terrible. Newer automobiles often come with better lighting most of them with LED here in the US of A. I am very grateful that we're allowed to make our bikes safer for night time travel. It's too bad to EU doesn't reconsider it.
@@frdbecker They do when it are approved and tested lights, but these bulbs never give the correct light because the mirror is not made for this kind of bulb.

@@preejuani4836 it is important that one checks the height of the projected beam to factory specs. One of the best step by step videos I’ve ever seen on TH-cam. I wish everyone was this good at explaining things.
Why thank you. I'm flattered. You are welcome. Thank you for watching, and a great comment. Ride safe!
I completely agree.
Thanks for explaining at normal speed..not like some that rush through it big thumbs up here in the UK 🇬🇧

Did you have to add any adapters/transformers to install the new bulb ?
No, plug and play. Direct replacement. Just install the new bulb and enjoy.

how is the LED headlight bulb working out?
It is working excellent. So is the same light in my DRC 400. One of the best things I have done to both bikes. Thank you for asking!
Can you tell us what lumen rating you used and been working for you. If someone is using a higher lumen that might be the burning out issue. Thank you
These were 6500 lumens per bulb.
