Peace Dora Song was written by Bryan Adams, David Foster and Jim Vallance (Adams' lyricist). David has worked with and produced for many elite singers in Canada and the U.S., including Celine Dion, Josh Groban and Whitney Houston. This song tied with We Are The World for winning a Grammy Award in 1986.

One of my favorite songs of all time! And it was produced by David Foster, whom I had the honour and chance of meeteing in person when he came to Toronto.

I now dedicate and request this song in honor and in memory of the people of Ukraine and Ethiopia. The region of Tigre is now in battle as we speak, shortly after the war in Ukraine started. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.

There were 3 songs First was “Feed the World” by the Brits and then USA for Africa did “We are the World” and Canada did “Tears are not Enough” personally always thought this was the best written of the three. Bob Geldoff (a Brit) was the driving force behind all this and it Culminated in Live Aid concert in 1985.

In case you look for the British song. It’s titled Do They Know It’s Christmas” but I can understand why someone might think it was Feed The World.

This is the best out of the 3 for me. The words resonate more for me.

I remember with nostalgia the impact of this song at the time, mid '80s, I guess. We loved singing it in my secondary school days. And till date, the lyrics are apt. Indeed, heaven knows that tears are not enough. All we need to do is make a difference.

From 2:59-3:06, you hear the only couple of lines of this song in French.

Thanks for listening to my request! 😃
Title by Paul.Hyde + Bob Rock.
English lyrics by Bryan Adams + Jim Vallance. French lyrics by Rachel Paiement. Music by David Foster. He also played piano + synthesizers.
There is a popup video which identifies all the musicians.
Gordon Lightfoot, Burt Cummings + Anne Murray started singing. The last singer is Dalbello (born as Lisa Dal Bello).
There is a long video which has the making of Tears Are Not Enough. About 1 hour and 15 minutes. In the making of the song, there are many funny points. 1 relates to Neil Young + Bob Dylan. L🤣L
Quinct Jones asked David Foster to create a supergroup in Canada for African relief. DF informed Bruce Allen, who got all the major musicians from Bryan Adams to Zappacosta to perform. This permitted David Foster the time to write, play piano for, arrange, conduct + produce the song. All complaints, hotel arrangements, meals, media relations, tax problems were handled by Bruce + his staff. 😃
The 1985 Grammy Producer of the Year was a tie: Quincy Jones + David Foster. 1st + only tie for that award. 😃 Both led African relief. In 1982, they worked on the Michael Jackson album Thriller.
The bigger winner was the continent of Africa. 😃

If you want an awesome performance check out Queen (a rock band) at Live Aid in the U.K.. Their final song, WOW doesn't even describe it. Queen rocked the house. Sadly Freddie Mercury would pass away from Aids/HIV and the world lost a talented artist. Please check it out, the whole performance will be worth it.
