Dear God ~ thank you for Bob Dylan
van morrison approeaches music on a similar free spirit
Absolutely - Van is always changing his Music up
I got to confess that altho I'm a huge dylan fan , I'm not crazy for his live performances , however , I do agree that his live stuff is completely improv and that is jazz, by definition .. Bob dylan , one of the most important artists of our life time .
His live performances are some of the Best and at times not so good. But Dylan live is always a great adventure
I, myself love it!
I've seen Dylan live on every tour since 97 and I've never seen a bad show. The worst I've seen him was on the first leg of his current tour. I'm pretty sure he was exhausted or feeling under the weather when he came through Portland, but from what I hear he got his second wind before the second leg of the tour. I love hearing him reinterpret his own material over and over, making it fresh and new.
That's why Bob Dylan's stuff continues to breathe and be relevant. It's of the NOW! You never get the same thing twice!
