  • Easy assembly and disassembly of a Ruger Mark I, Mark II, or Mark III 22LR Pistol. While field stripping this is harder than with other pistols, they are not hard. You can find them relatively inexpensively on the used gun market, and get a great gun at a discounted price. Some of them are almost new because the previous owners did not know how to maintain them and just gave up.

Just got a Mark 2 that needs a good cleaning. I've heard that they are difficult to assemble but you made it look pretty easy, I guess it's time to get mine taken care of. Thanks for the video!!

My dad bought his Mark II back in the late 80’s or early 90’s. He took it apart once to clean it & couldn’t get it back together, had to have a gunsmith finish the job. Here I am taking it apart for its first cleaning in 30 years… it’s embarrassing to admit that, but…

Ive had mine since the late 90s and either then oil, cleaning the barrel and using qtips to clean the action I’ve never taking it apart. It’s the one gun I have never taken apart. It helps that’s it super reliable.

This video helped with me taking down my Baby Automag .22Lr.
Idk how long it's been since the previous owner cleaned it, but it had some yellow gunk around the ejection port so I'm gonna assume it's been a decade or more.

I sold that one because I got out of my stainless everything phase, and now have what I should have bought the first time around: blued, med 6 7/8" bbl Mk 2. It breaks down and cleans just fine, just like my first pistol in the vid. 🙂

I can't believe after all these years this in necessary. There are so many videos on this out there and the most important thing about it you didn't actually show with the camera. All guns have a disassembly procedure. Regardless of the gun if you don't know how to clean it it means you don't shoot it often, or don't clean it when you do or this wouldn't be an issue.
Not a commentary so much on your video as it is on people not knowing the mechanics of the gun they own, that is an epic fail. Thousands have sold this gun because they can't figure out this one minute process, likely the same people that don't know what a fan belt is.
