If you're a witch I suggest less wicca and more golden dawn/thoth/Egypt/rosicrucian/pagan/masonic rituals. Wicca is edited and skewed forms of ancient arts as I mentioned above. That said, requirements for masters who write and form the teachings are much more stringent and require utmost mastery. With wicca any old cook can write a book... Do not settle on one art, decipher all. Including religions and science. Bless you all.

It’s more so about the clockwise and counter-clockwise motion - you can start your pentacle on any of the 5 points however you feel comfortable! I just start on the top because it’s easier and I feel like it makes the clockwise/counter-clockwise more clear

Had no idea why I just did it, and then found some ancestral roots and my native relatives do the same. I'm just adding on to your point. When you feel Magick within there's no wrong answer.
