- The Fast and Furious ride Orlando at Universal Studios Orlando has been relentlessly panned by guests ever since its opening back in 2018. As a result, there have been calls for Universal Studios Florida to remove and replace the Fast & Furious ride at Universal Studios Orlando. However even though I myself do not like the Fast & Furious ride Universal Orlando Resort, I believe that Fast and Furious Supercharged will remain a part of the Universal Studios Orlando rides collection for the foreseeable future. With Fast and Furious being one of Universal's top franchises, it just wouldn't make sense to remove Fast and Furious Universal Studios Orlando. So don't count your chickens before they hatch, because Fast & Furious Supercharged is here to stay.

The first time I rode I hated it. The second time I rode, I hated it. The third time I rode, I couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous everything was. The team members in the preshow changed their spiels and became a lot more dry and sarcastic. The entire ride experience is dumbfounding as if it's a prank. This ride is now in the "so bad it's good category" and every time I ride, I find something new to be amused with.
That's because the team members know the ride blows and are just fed up with it and doing what they have to so they get paid.
You needed more than one ride? I’m one and done!
I just hated the ride concept they went with! Hopefully, they’ll demolish it and rebuild it from scratch with a much different ride system, practical sets, animatronics, and other stuff!
The one good thing about Fast and Furious is the cast members is their sarcasm and dry sense of humor.
Poseidon, I understand that the team members don't like the attraction but it makes me laugh that they're dry and sarcastic in the preshows.
I like how the Fast and Furious is about cars yet the ride is on a frickin party bus. The ride should have been a rollercoaster or something like Test Track or the Cars ride at Epcot and Disneyland.

UNI does to many virtual rides. never been on fast because of opinions, recently went Fallon and its w.e. when they do a good mix of virtual and animatronics like fobbiden journey it comes together well.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of Test Track and the Spiderman ride. Make it more personal with individual vehicles, not a bus for crying out loud. It's like they spent all this money on the ride and were like "yanno lets save some cash and reuse these back lot tour buses"
The scenes aren't really the main issue. It's not terrible as a section of the tram tour in Hollywood. The issue was trying to make it a stand alone ride in Orlando. Fast and Furious deserves to be a racing coaster. Something along the lines of West Coast Racers but with a story.
I agree. I live in Cali, so it being part of the tram tour isn’t bad. At least we have Kong Skull Island and some of the parts of the tour.

I’m a team member and we panned this ride when we had team member preview before it opened.. we told them this ride sucked..but they already built it so they couldn’t not open it. They should’ve made this ride like Universal’s answer to Test Track.. unless they switch out the bus and put car trams this is just one of those universal duds
That makes sense. Honestly I like the queue of this attraction, but they should redo the preshow and do something else with the actual attraction itself. One good thing that came out of Fast And Furious Supercharged is that it will be the last screenbased ride for a while in Universal Orlando, and that's when we got Hagrid's and Velocicoaster.
It made sense when they closed Sinbad, Fear Factor and Barney as they were over 10 years old and weren't bringing in crowds like they used to. F&F is still new, while they can make changes to the attraction, closing it is a bad move in many ways even if the ride itself sucks. Personally they should turn it into a indoor roller coaster if I had to make any changes, but that would cost more money, so I think the best they can do is to simply change the ride video itself and put something in that can at least make it memorable like the animatronic in Reign of Kong.
I agree, Universal definitely seems to be going for more quality attractions. Bourne hasn't really seemed to make an impact, though I do feel it is a solid show. If the pandemic hadn't been a thing, I wonder if reception would have changed. Same thing with Fallon. Fallon is a pretty good attraction, but it's overshadowed by the over abundance of simulators in the park, as well as having replaced Twister, which I feel people considered a classic despite being outdated. The Studios just really need a few handful of exceptional new attractions to let their supplemental experiences shine.
They could make it like test track at Epcot where you ride inside the fancy car and you race on the track

Fast and furious gets me so mad because it had a lot of potential to be something like a test track in Disney
The ride was definitely a great idea. It’s a franchise that universal can definitely profit off and bring joy to guests. However, it was done poorly. The screen based bus ride is just awful. Universal should have made it an indoor rollercoaster similar to the Mummy. A even better idea would be a F&F themed attraction that is similar to test track at Epcot or radiator springs racers.
A great idea but they really don't have the room for a ride as big as RSR. I'd love to see it though.

I just never understood how they could have used the bus ride system vs using a ride system similar to test track or use something similar to gringgots but with cars.
Hell the mummy is pretty old at this point and still everyone favorite attraction at the park they could have just made another indoor coaster.

Or use the Spiderman SCP/Transformers vehicles perhaps scaled down like the DeLoreans from BTTF with two rows of four seats. Spiderman and Transformers do an amazing job at simulating speed _and_ stunts like drifting and spins and mass havoc.
@@hanonondricek411 The issue I have with using the Spiderman \ Transformers is they are likely to use the same ride sequence ... So the Climax would be your car is attached to a jet\ helicopter in the Air... I think the ride sequence being the same on both spiderman and transformers is what kill transformers for me...

I just wanna say, my wife loves the F&F series, and is generally afraid of intense rides, and even she thought this ride was lame.
I went into this ride with the lowest expectations, I still supremely disappointed

@@ollielongscar uh what? American’s love Conan. It was NBC execs that didn’t. Jay Leno retired, they made Conan the new Tonight Show host. Then Leno made a new show, it wasn’t doing well in his time slot, and they wanted to bump The Tonight Show back to past midnight to accommodate Leno. Conan objected, and didn’t want to get pushed around. So he left and made his shownwith his own production company. Hence the “Conan” show.
Jimmy Fallon was like “yeah NBC, I’ll do whatever you tell me to do” so they gave him the hosting job, and why they have a 3D ride with a lackluster script

Keep the queue but redue the show building and the ride. Idk why they didn’t make something like the Spider-Man or transformers ride. I know they don’t want a lot of the same ride concepts but it’s literally a car. They really should have made something like test track at Disney but with a story and you could have racing cars to start off the ride

In my opinion, the only ride system that would work for this movie in the parks would be the Test Track car system, where it would be a car race.
Crazy how Disney made the least interesting Pixar property into one of the best rides and theming in the world while Universal made their biggest property into one of the worst rides ever

As one of the few people who doesn’t hate this attraction, I would rather see them update the ride like you said than just scrap it.

This attraction deserves to be criticized because it’s Universals most popular current franchise and it’s so weak.

I'm noticing something and I'm wondering if others do too. I've noticed that if a certain property is already owned by Comcast they will put less effort into the attraction versus one they don't own. Universal bent over backwards for the creators/owners of Harry Potter, Dr Seuss, and Nintendo to create the lands they envisioned while rides like F&F and Jimmy Fallon get half arsed treatment. Probably because Universal can't afford to lose the non-Universal properties that they can make money off of so they gotta be done good from the get-go.
I wouldn't really give to much criticism to Jimmy Fallon because to be fair it is a small space so they did the best they could, and it has an amazing queue, but fast and furious kind of deserves I, sense it is in a much bigger building, so I think if they just update the ride a bit, and make it a bit longer and maybe have a couple of animatronics they can make the ride good
Ride blows. Rode it once and won't go on it again. The only good thing about it is the cue line and the cars. They should keep all that and replace the ride with one of the dueling single rail coasters. Can easily be themed to FnF. Enough with the screen rides. S pider man and Transformers are the exact same ride. FnF and Kong are almost the exact same ride. Jimmy Fallon and Soarin are the exact same ride. It's so boring and unoriginal.
(and yes, before you comment, I know Soaring is at Disney. Doesn't change the fact that it's the exact same ride and lacks originality)
I need to ride this still, just bought annual resident passes and didn’t make it too far my first day. Going again Thursday. I think disney is hurting themselves right now, I wanted their annual pass but they aren’t doing them right now. Welp, my money went straight to the other park then...

I remeber going on the ride during HHN 2019 and when you got to the debriefing room it was so empty the cast member was talking to so regulars casually and said to anyone that cane through to just walk on to the ride. The bus was 1/4 full and the waiting line was as easy as soon as you were in kine you walked right on.
I know the ride is dead but y’all have to admit that queue line is really great.
I think this is the case for like 90% of Universal’s rides lol

Needs to be reimagined not refurbished, this was a missed opportunity to make a launch coaster like in Disney Hollywood studios Rock N Roller coaster.

It's a decent finale to the Studio Tour in Hollywood, but it's absolutely SHIT AWFUL as a stand alone ride....
For something that is supposed to be emulating one of their most important franchise making hundreds of millions, they would have built a whole new ride instead of just retrofitting an existing ride with a new skin.
Disney is likely to attempt to fix Journey Into Imaaaaagination with Figment before Universal Studios fixes Fast and Furious Supercharged. With that said, whats your ideas on how to fix Imaaaagination, or are you only a Universal Guy (pun intended) ?
I like Disney, but definitely prefer Universal. That being said, I actually really like Journey into Imagination in its current form. It may not be as good as its predecessor, but I don't think that should take away from how enjoyable the ride is in its current state. So honestly I couldn't really give any major suggestions for improvement since I like the ride how it is right now.
Well the with figment is the fixed version your imagination I think by now they just replace it
I was there 3 weeks ago. My wife and I spend 5 days at Disney and 4 at universal every year. She has never let me ride this because she hates it so much. It’s been a mystery to me. So I started asking employees if they liked it, and everyone mumbled under their breath as if they were being listened to, that the ride sucks. And then they would talk loud about which rides they recommended. It was very weird.
I would say the Hollywood version of the attraction is super great and really fitting for the Studio Tour but this is just something else...
This ride is Universal's superstar limo. If Universal cares at all about maintaining an image of offering consistent high-quality guest experiences, they will tear this ride down ASAP
A rollercoaster would have been cool, but also did we really expect anything that comes out of the fast and furious brand to be good.
As somebody who watches a lot of movies, I have to say... I actually really like the Fast & Furious movies. They know what they are and they what do what they do better than anyone else.
I really enjoy this ride and when I went with my group of friends on it for the first time where we all enjoying it. It wasen’t until one of us found an article about how disliked it was that we realized it wasen’t well recieved.

I enjoy both Kong and jimmy falon those rides are non coaster thrill rides that I can ride with the whole family and yes even this monstrosity

They will just make some adjustments to it. Likely just redoing the story and shooting new scenes but I am sure the rest of it will remain the same. They shit the bed and they are gonna lie in it and clean the bed as much as they can without actually washing the sheets.

Is it a crazy idea to make this a Cars Ride in California or Test Track kind of attraction? There’s is enough space in the ride building for the dark part, with many screen scenes with a good plot like Universal likes to do, and end up with a race that goes through out the building to the back of the Universal service and staff parking area (like TT)
Honestly I always thought a Test Track style ride would be perfect for Fast & Furious. But it might be too late for that to happen now

An Intamin hot racer would be a perfect fit for a Fast and Furious Coaster, espically since Universal has a great relationship with Intamin. That’s my dream for a replacement for the current ride
You left out one important detail, which for me is the final nail in the coffin as to why it's not going anywhere: it must be insanely cheap to operate, relatively speaking. I mean it's essentially just a couple trucks in a big movie theater. There's no complicated ride vehicles, tracks, or animatronics that need regular upkeep, so compared to other attractions there must be little to no overhead. And anyone who knows their stuff knows that when a ride is cheap to operate, it's essentially immortal no matter how bad it is.
They have live human presenters narrating the Preshows so that already isn't cheap. Staffing is one of the biggest expensives of running any attraction.
Universal will keep that ride there forever because they LOVE trolling the guests and watching them pull their hair out over how bad and unpopular it is yet it staying there! XD
The ride system really needs to be redone. Maybe do a rollercoaster or something else. But the tram ride is a failure

I’m not sure if it’s just because I was in the back left corner of the bus, but my experience was terrible. The fans were constantly blowing in my face, so I actually couldn’t see much, and what I could wasn’t all that good either. If it had been made like Transformers, Spider-Man, or Harry Potter, I could forgive it. I wasn’t too jazzed about the Transformers ride at first, but after I went on it, I really enjoyed it. I agree that it isn’t going anywhere and if they don’t want a complete loss, they need to elevate from being the wet fart that it currently is.

This ride is terrible. From the poor and cringe acting, to the horrible cgi, to the slow party bus, nothing is good about the ride. It feels so lazy and cheap. They have to do something, anything lol. I remember just a few months after it opened, I went on and everyone on my bus was booing and saying the ride sucked when we were pulling up to get off the ride. The team members were standing there clapping as always, but even they were like laughing in agreement with us and you can tell they also think the ride sucks.
When I heard about a Fast & Furious ride my first thought was something along the lines of Test Track at Epcot. My heart sank when I experienced what it's really like.
This ride is just lazy. First of all they have a ride identical to this at islands. Second, it’s another screen “ride”. I’m 100% ok with screen rides if you’re moving. Third, I couldn’t even tell what was happening for the most because it’s designed so bad. The only good thing about the ride were the hot girls 😂

I was stoked that they were bringing Supercharged over from Hollywood at the time. The first few times I've ridden I thought it was the best thing ever, however looking back on where this came from, what it had to replace and most of importantly what Universal wanted to do........I can agree that it didn't live up to the hype as intended.
However, the years since then and especially not going to the parks in a while I still think the ride is decent and definitely better than it's Hollywood counterpart since it expanded the plot (even though it's not great). I think when people are making the argument for why Supercharged needs to be replaced is they really don't understand how the economics of theme parks works. Especially during these hard times, we all know how Disney handles it and Universal is kinda in a similar position.
Like you said, Supercharged is still recently NEW and if they decide to take it out immediately then that's gonna be a HUGE waste of money for Universal to use and perhaps build something else from scratch. So obviously giving the ride some updates is a no brainer. I do believe adding new scenes would make it stand out more but I also believe that they should do three things:
1. Obviously create a much better plot with the crew and perhaps make it canon to the franchise.
2. (This might be me asking for too much) Add the 3D element like in Hollywood. I know Universal has a lot of 3D attraction but if they're cloning their own rides then at least keep it consistent. Look at King Kong 360 and Skull Island for example, they're both 3D and one of them is a better version on a different coast so why couldn't Supercharged do the same? Without the 3D, the ride just looks more like a cheap video game than it already is now.
3. Speaking of looking like a cheap video game, that's a major complaint I've been hearing constantly. The graphics definitely need a serious overhaul. If Universal could just give one phonecall to ILM then the visuals would stellar.

What I haven't seen mentioned is that Kings Island literally made a coaster with F&F vibes: Backlot Stunt Coaster. Hell it even takes place in LA!
All UO creative had to do was take that concept and amp it up with the F&F theme, they have PLENTY of land to gut the bus and current track and do something using what they did with Hagrid/Gringotts.
Honestly, it'd be cheaper to give everyone a Corona beer before they jump on the ride. Boom improved!

I rode this in February 2022 and it had literally nobody in line and I walked on. They were taking surveys outside the exit when you get off on whether or not you enjoyed it. Let's hope that since this ride gets very low ridership, especially for Universal, they pull the plug on it
The advertising for Fast and Furious ticked me off. It was so blatantly meant to play off the ignorance of Latinos. Similar to how Vin Diesel “acts” Latino. It’s about authentic as a Taco Bell burrito.
This ride would be fine if the screen portion got an upgrade. Integrating the screen/set technology from The Bourne Stuntacular would instantly improve the experience.

Honestly this should have been turned into a spiderman / transformers ride system. I know everyone hates on transformers for copying spiderman and would definitely hate on F&F for being another spiderman clone but it undoubtedly would have made F&F a much better experience. You could even alter the ride system a little and have various hallway sections where you can go fast like you're in a racecar so you still live up to the attraction's name and to what people expect out of a FAST and Furious ride.
Well to be fair, Fast & Furious fans are not too picky in terms of quality.. certainly Universal realizes that
we ride every ride when we go so we have to go on this and everytime I start hysterically laughing at how stupid it honestly is
The queue was more awesome than the ride itself. If you're being entertained more by the queue than the attraction itself, that's a problem.

Can you do a video on why everything at universal is a movie and then they jiggle you around? A simulator.... They need to go back to ET style in my opinion....
GCI had some cool "car" style themes for the Infinity Flyer trains. A twin-track wood & titan track ride would be so much better - but these trains are needed for theme continuity (oh, and keep the preshow. That would sell the illusion. Have it "drive" around the existing set - except it's now a roller coaster!

This ride flops worse than a flop itself. It’s also considered to be a thrilling ride according to Universal. I mean I guess if you wanna take a 10 minute nap in some refreshing cool air it’s worth your time. I hope they either remodel the ride or just replace it to something that’s hopefully not also a flop too. 😪
I don’t know where this would go but I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of having a ice age themed roller coaster of the ice slide that they all go down after the baby falls

The queue is cool but he ride should've been an indoor launched coaster with inversions and they could've kept the story about going on a race chase to a party
