    Thank you very much for the time you took to make this video. I need this tool to repair my exhaust on my 88 Chevy flatbed.

    Thanks for the demo and review of this. I need to get one. I may rent one though. I did rent one a few years ago. It was a different design with 6 or 7 rounded expanders. It worked very well and the pipe did expand more evenly than the one in the video. But it too would leave low spots, just smaller and closer together. Very easy to rotate it and remove them, (like you did). Having more than the 4 expanders, it bent the pipe closer to round. Reset it once and that rounded it very well. Now I need one again for a few pieces I need to join. I should have just kept the one I rented. I thought about it, but returned it when I was done. I'll keep the next one, even if it isn't used again for a few more years. I think it was less than $60.00 for it.

    Nice to know about the arrows on the box latches, and the close up of the box inside instructions was helpful too...

    I have a video using the Astro expander and the HFT hydro hole punch kit works very well but you must make sure that the forcing screw pitch is the same on both as there has been changes form time to time.

    I have the same one, look up vevor hydraulic knockout punch, I adapted one to my expander, works way better than any one my impacts did and is way faster

    • @lfranco0070
      @lfranco0070 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This tool requires rotation to open the expander. How did you adapt your hydraulic knockout punch tool? Thanks

    • @hairykeyshilti9669
      @hairykeyshilti9669 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@lfranco0070 the rotation pulls the wedge in, using the punch cylinder with a bit of studding lets's it pull the wedge in. Polishing the wedge before you start and antisiezing it really helps

    Nice video! Crank up the speed to 1.75 and enjoy the 'Red Green Show' vibe. Thank you for the testing that actually describes the tool, its use, as well as any drawbacks. Sub'd.

    Does it expand in a perfect circle or is it near circle ?

    • @MrAamstrom
      @MrAamstrom  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It makes a near-perfect circle if you take the time to work out the imperfections using the tailpipe expander. Also, I did not in the video, but as someone who commented on the video earlier said, you could heat the pipe before using the tailpipe expander if you have access to torches. Thank you for watching.

    U might need a more torquer impact...

    • @MrAamstrom
      @MrAamstrom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I purchased a new impact wrench about a week after posting the video, so I will see if it speeds up the pipe expander. Thank you for watching.

  • @JuanSanchez-ik7wx
    @JuanSanchez-ik7wx ปีที่แล้ว

    you need to heat the pipe up to make it soft

      Thank you for passing this information along. I was not aware of this fact. Nevertheless, I paid 20% less than the full price at Harbor Freight because I used a coupon when I purchased my tailpipe expander. Thank you for watching.
