Great job! Did the sandwich foam need a lot of resin? I checked the Lantor website and they stated that the 3mm foam needs 1,4 kg per m2. That is a lot compared to what the carbon fiber needs.
I used 2mm sandwich material. I definitely didn’t use a 1.4 kg’s of epoxy, so maybe it’s under saturated, but it’s strong a.f. I just used some more epoxy than I would on a layup without sandwich stuff.
Awesome work, great insights! if i see this correct you used 1 layer 200g and 2 layers of reinforcements around the foilbox on the bottom. on the top u used 2 layers 200g with a sandwich soric xf in between? how thick is your friends board? Thanks =)
Love your videos man! I also plan to do a build, do you have a recommandation of a materiel supplier to get carbon, epoxy etc that ship to Europe France?
I ordered my carbon carbonwinkel.nl, but after some bad experiences I now buy everything at polyestershoppen.nl I don’t know if they ship to France though. I would search locally to save shipping costs and the environment. 🤟🙃🤙
@@Dzjiefoils I plan to build a board for wing foiling, and hopefully ill have material left to build another one with less volume to wave foiling. I am just trying to figure out how to build it inside my home since i dont have a workshop or a garden..
Thanks!, Great question. I don't know the answer to this. I think the sandwich layer makes it stronger for pressure dents from the heels. But I don't actually know if it does. The deck feels rock solid though, But it also does on the previous board I made that had 3 layers of carbon on the deck. It is a bit cheaper though to use the Soric.
Super wholesome om dit net voor het slapen te kijken. Prachtig werk! Ik heb wel 1 vraagje, neemt soric niet vrij veel epoxy op en dus redelijk wat extra gewicht?
looks like my alltime favourite wingfoilboard shape, if it only had a pintail ;-) congrats!
Thanks mate! It surfs amazing too!
Oohh that looks so nice!
Thanks!

Yes! You’ve paid attention. Very good! 😀 I don’t know how thick the board is. I’m on holiday now, but I will let you know soon..

Using Soric on the top may I use Xps 15 kg/m3 instead of massive ones type? thansk
Sorry, I don’t understand your question. 🤔🤷♂️
Nice video! Do you think the sandwich with two layers of carbon and one of Sonic performs better in weight and resistance than three layers of carbon?
