Because the clueless writers had plans to break up Sonny and Brenda and pair him with Lily. Epic fail, they are totally boring together. Yet the two beautiful fascinating people together that made you think it was a real relationship that drew the fans in, they did everything to keep them apart.
You know i just realized that Sonny never cared that Karen was throwing her ass in a circle on a stripper pole in his club (he even encouraged it) and he never cared who Carly slept with and she slept with erbody...but Brenda...a man couldn't even look at her without him going crazy.
Sonny wouldn't react any different today if Brenda had moved on with someone else and came upon Sonny in street even if he's with Carly or any one else. I hope.
