I remember when my father showed me his snes. He taught me how to play dk and would be a prettu cool dad, we both finished it together, good memories. Rest in peace
My Dad got me my SNES for my 4th birthday. When I got to save barrel I asked "what's that?!" And he said "hmm must be magic powers" haha. We both had no idea what we were doing. And he loved the water levels because he used to scuba dive. He passed away last year and I miss him so much. I still play my original cart on a SNES and I swear I can feel him watching me play. Hope you're holding up brother
I remember getting donkey Kong Country returns for he 3DS for my birthday. It was my second favourite game at that time, but I was incapable of completing any level past 1-3. I would have waited for him to come back from work every day do I could watch him play it on my behalf
My dad used to play a lot of SNES back then. He's still with us, but he's getting old. I miss the days when we were sitting in front of the TV together. I somehow need to get him to play some games again.

Damn this makes me feel so freaking old. Such nostalgia. I was a kid when playing Donkey Kong for the Super Nintendo. Played Super Mario Kart. Then went to Nintendo 64 to Nintendo Game Cube. I remember playing Diddy Kong Racing. I even remember watching the T.V show growing up. Man I miss those days. When Saturday morning cartoons used to be good.

September 11, the day America as we knew it was destroyed and we didn't realize it. We can go back to the 80's and 90's if we try. To when racism was almost totally destroyed. When cartoons and games were not just cool, but fulfilling. When movies were pushing boundaries instead of grasping at cash. We can bring it back, but it has to be a conscious effort and we have to do it together. This music will be on our playlist as we do.
I'm here to relieve my childhood once again...whether you are hurt or dying of laughter please never let go. Life may be unfair but we are stronger than we think.

First game I ever played on the SNES. Asked Santa for a SNES through my parent's for at least 2 months prior. I couldn't sleep Christmas Eve at all. I got up and rushed to the living room. I saw the box that looked just the right size to be a SNES console box. I was ecstatic. I looked at the tag on the present and it said "To (my brothers name) from SANTA". My eyes bugged out of my head and I felt utterly betrayed. I took it like a champ and we both enjoyed playing Donkey Kong Country for the first time.
I to this day have possession of the SNES, hahaha.
I have my Snes as well and probably was the first game I play it too. I asked for Christmas a Mega Drive (Genesis) but got a Snes instead with DKC, I remember seeing in the box images of the game and I doubted it was real game image. I probably played Super Mario World in a store before this, but my world was Atari, Master System and the Genesis, so I started well in Snes.

This has to be my favourite music to listen while working. It has been probably 1-2 years since I found this, and I still often select it as first in my chill playlist for working. I just love it so much, how the mix is done, the voices, the lofi and reverberations, and of course the DK ost as base which is for me THE best ost ever overall. There are a lot of excellent game osts which I listen to, but DK's ost is the one I definitely listened more, at least outside the games. Chill, nostalgic, powerful. Thank you so much for this

Super Retro 16 is an Snes emulator app that will play Donkey Kong if you download the rom files. I recommend it on tablets since the screen is bigger. I like to take a bit of time out of my busy day to play some old-school DK 1&2. It chills me out.

That Forrest Interlude one is pretty great. Sounds like a real guitar. Same goes for the last Hot Head Hop, probably not a real sax but it sounds pretty realistic.

You literally can't improve the OG Aquatic Ambience, but they're still good.
IMO a lot of this applies to most songs. It's still a good take.
I think people composing original songs in the style of the first 2-3 games would be better. I remember a vaporwave album that was like this, but I can no longer find it.
