    Thank you so much. I am working on getting my sell sheet and benefit statement just right. I thought I liked mine, but after watching these videos, and doing some tweaking, my sell sheet is even better. :)

    Thanks Andrew. I have searched for examples - over and over again. This is by far the most accessible information that I have seen on the subject.

      You're welcome, Martin. You've probably read Stephen's article for Core77 about sell sheets, which features an example, but in case you haven't: www.core77.com/posts/55950/How-to-License-Your-Ideas-For-New-Products-Using-a-Simple-Sell-Sheet. If you're looking for additional help with your sell sheet, we also recently launched a beta version of our Design Studio making it available to the public for the first time ever: www.inventright.com/what-we-offer/dspublic

    I absolutely! A sell sheet is pretty much a more clear and concise print ad. A good sell sheet has all elements of a good, functional ad. Fun random fact about really good billboards ad: They try to keep it no more 9 words because drivers only have a few seconds to read the ad, especially when they're going 65 mph down the freeway.

    I'm in the process of reviewing all the InventRight sell sheet videos. This one is especially helpful! You're great, Andrew, always really clear and to the point. Thanks so much!

      Shorter is better - think 60 seconds or less.

    What kind of music restrictions are there for a sell sheet video I'm wondering what the legal restrictions are because the video is only going to the company basically for a sample of what the product is it's not like they're using it for a commercial

    You send your sell sheet after filing for the divisional patent right? Cause who’s to say they just deny your sell sheet and take your idea?

    Which sell sheets have better advantages? PDF digital files or a simple print on paper method? Thank you for the videos

    • @inventRight
      @inventRight  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Communicating with potential licensees typically happens online, meaning a PDF is ideal. Occasionally, say at a trade show, you might use a paper version. But even then , you could show someone your sell sheet on your phone. (Ultimately having better control over who sees it.) Thanks for watching!

      PDF is common and a universal file that can easily and very quickly on either the person's computer, tablet or mobile device. I did have a few companies that only accepted or looked at product submissions through mailing in a hard copy of the sell sheet...pretty old school, but when in rome...

    • @daveprice3095
      @daveprice3095 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good idea to have a master copy that’s high quality to start a discussion - face to face at show - then collect their email and let them know you’ll email a copy tomorrow when you’re in the office. Trade shows everyone is bombarded with vendors. Make a note about the person you talk to and email them when you get home that night but schedule email to send 7:05 am the next day - you will score serious professional points and hopefully a step closer to your goal.

    If I have variations on my product, should I communicate that with a company? The sell sheet obviously isn't the format to do present them...

      Read "How to Identify Companies That Will Want to License Your Product Idea" www.inc.com/stephen-key/how-to-identify-companies-that-will-want-to-license-your-product-idea.html. We also wrote an ebook that included additional information. See here: th-cam.com/video/mk6sVv_wCo4/w-d-xo.html. We have a service for our students called inventRight Connect, which you can find out more about here: www.inventright.com/irconnectlandingpage. Thank you for watching.

      One of my favorite things to do is hop off the computer and go out to the stores...in your case, pet stores. Then go to the aisle that you think your product idea should belong, then look at the products and the companies of those products similar to your idea. Either write the company names down or take a photo. I would then hop back on to the computer, look up those companies and get there phone calls. All you have to do next is call them and ask if they accept outside product submissions. Easy-peezy!

    • @SwingingPythons
      @SwingingPythons 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thats simple but first you need to do alot more learning because you dont even know that you need to be looking for pet supply manufactures not distributors.
