True, true....I've never purchased all those products. I only use one product to twist my hair is made for edge control and is made by Curls. I don't use gel because my hair shrinks a lot....so I blow dry it not all the way dry and I twist it with that product.
Right!! I learned to leave all those curl poos alone! And went back to using a sulfate shampoo that actually cleansed my hair 😤

I use the spray curl activator on my hair and it is so soft. What I don't do is put a lot of water on my hair. Water dries it out. In the mornings I wet my comb to comb out the matted hair from sleeping spray about 5 to 6 pumps of spray around my hair massage it in and style. Works really well. Great video. Some of us knew this already. Our hair needs the moisture.
Natural Boss, I tried Proclaim today and love it! Omg! My hair feels so moisturized. I tried the S-Curl but prefer Proclaim. The Proclaim doesn't feel sticky. My hair is soaking it up. My daughter noticed an immediate difference. I even went a step further, put on my shower cap and bonnet for an hour. The results were magnanimous! Thank you!

You could have used activator anytime because glycerin makes it grow. My aunt salon stayed packed ppl getting jheri curls. And I remember telling her once I wanted to grow my hair out cause I had a short style. She told me to use activator that was 30 years ago.

It's the Glycerin, it absorbs moisture from the air all day. I used to even buy the bottles of glycerin put in a spray bottle with equal parts distilled water and spray my freshly washed hair detangle let it hair dry and my hair stayed moisturized all day. . I've been doing this for years. You can put a small amount of hair cream on your hair then seal it with curl activator. I'm glad others have discovered this method I used to tell ppl and they would get mad saying they dont have a S curl so why they need to use curl activator. Walmart $8 "Africare 100% glycerin" has no smell or buy curl activator

I thought that it was just me, I never stopped using my curl activator gel. It's the only thing that will keep my hair from drying out. I am so glad to see someone else like you to use this product.

Yeah I still use regular gel sometimes but the curl activator is wayyyy better.

i'm 4c, and this doesn't work for me at all. but there's not really a trace of curl pattern when i get out of shower, my hair is nigerian lmao. it's an actual afro.

Thank you for posting this video, you did a great job in explaining how you get your look. Your hair is very pretty. For anyone who hasn’t tried it yet, curl activators are the real deal. No need to have 4-5 products in your hair to get the look of what one product can do. Blessings!

You can re-use the proclaim container for other products when you run out, if you desire..I love containers like that..I use mines for bobby pins, rubber bands, hair clips, etc.. I never throw away those types of containers..great video, thank you for sharing.

Yes Jerri curl activator works on natural hair without the crunch. I used it on my daughters hair when she was in elementary school. I used the S Curl activator spray on my hair. They have changed the formula and it’s paraben free. That’s the only thing that I can really moisturizes my hair with when ever it’s dyed blonde.

It’s not as popular but my preference is World of Curls for extra dry hair. It takes a while to dry but my hair is moisturized and defined for the WEEK!!

Alethia Lang I’m in Alabama and find it at the neighborhood beauty supply stores. Just make sure it’s the one for extra dry hair. The regular doesn’t work as well **for me** for some strange reason. I de tangle with Auntie Jackie’s Knot on My Watch and then layer on the World of Curls Ex Dry.

I don't remember what products I used when I did have a Jeri curl. I have thin hair and 4C texture and for the longest time I've been using Lustersilk's Curl Max. It's greasy and heavy, but, it does moisturize my hair. I think I'm going to give this product a try and if it fails, I won't be out off much money. Thanks for your review. I'm subscribing, because I want to see what else is out there.

I've been using SCurl for years and it keeps my hair moisturize, especially in the summer. I use the activator and add 1 MSM capsule (I empty the pill in the activator and mix it in) 👍🏽

What does MSM supposed to do to the hair when added to the activator? Does it make the hair shine more or does it make it grow more? I never heard of it! Is it a necessity or is that just something extra?
@@darlineb426 Thank you so much, Sis! I suffer from several autoimmune conditions including Graves' Disease due to hyperthyroidism (post thyroidectomy), Thyroid Eye Disease (TED), and Fibromyalgia. I've seen bottles of MSM in the drug store before, but I didn't know much about it. I Googled MSM, and I found an article by Healthline entitled, "8 Science-Backed Benefits of MSM Supplements" that explained everything.

I just love it! I've been using World of Curls and Long Aid activator gel, whichever one I can find, and both products have been good to my hair. I think it's the glycerine that makes the hair so moist. I can go for a couple of days without having to refresh too.
I've been using world of curls activator for 5yrs. I have to do a leave in conditioner. I don't use any type of shampoo... I only use Dove or Pantene moisturize repair conditioners. My natural hair gets straight when it's wet. No waves, no coils, just straight. I rod set it and let it air dry. In the cold weather, I braid it and slap on a wig. A few years ago I got a Wave Nuveau and my curls were very loose and stringy. Natural Boss your hair is awesome.

I have been using curl products on my natural hair for years. It helps keep my hair moisturized and it helps with length retention. My issue is styling. I try different products but I always come back to the curl juice.

Curl activater is particularly awesome on extra thick hair like yourself. I stumbled on using it by accident myself. Cant live witout it now. Of course I used it too back in the day when having a jheri curl was the thing. But who knew that you could use it on natural hair with even better results. Because back than, with the curl, you would have to use a ton of it after you washed it because of the chemical from the curl. This stuff is a life saver. It moisturizes, affordable, No harsh chemicals as some posts might suggest🤔, and it actually helps your hair, because you dont have to do a lot of manipulating the hair. Makes me wonder if we ever really needed a Jheri curl to start with.Just saying!!

I'm remembering going to the shop as a pre-teen & teen to get my "Lustrasilk" Curl, not to be confused with the greasier Jheri Curl, lol. I guess we just didn't know back then how to rock our own curls without all that processing. 😁 But when you learn better, you do better! Your hair is gorgeous with that curl activator.

I used to use “Hawaiian Silky Jerry Curl Juice” i liked the way it looks it just feels to sticky in the summer time
I gave tried that one yet. The proclaim activator that I use doesn't feel sticky at all once it's dry.

I use lustersilk on my natural curly hair. I have tried expensive to cheap. I can honestly tell you I end up back using Lustersilk.
Now I am going to try the one you mentioned to see if I like it.
